The villa is in a quiet countryside setting a world away from touristry hotspots. If you want noisy all-night bars or English breakfasts this is not the place to come to. It is located in a small friendly elevated development overlooking the beautiful xanthos valley within 40 mins of fethiye, oludeniz, kalkan & patara. Its in the middle of an agricultural community so you may see the locals hurding their goats. It is 5 mins drive from the busy village of kadikoy. Nearby are the remains of the ancient city of tlos and the national park at saklikent gorge. It is also within 10 mins drive of yaka park & mountain lodge restaurant & bar. It is 75 mins drive from the upgraded airport at dalaman served by a range of low cost airlines including easyjet.

About Mrs Tina Stacey

We are Nick & Tina & have two children now young adults.

We live in Lincolnshire but would one day love to relocate to Olive Tree Villa.

Mrs Tina Stacey purchased this villa in 2011

Why Mrs Tina Stacey chose Seydikemer

After searching for 3 years in different areas of Turkey we fell in love with this area. The peace and tranquility of the area, the unspoilt beauty that hasn't been ruined by tourism. Yet still plent of thing to see & do close by.

What makes this villa unique

The views from the villa are breathtaking & can be seen from our extra large newly built terrace which faces the valley with uninterrupted views. It may not have a sea view but the mountains and valley are ever changing season by season. From April you see the snow capped mountains right through to summer where there is an abundance of wild flowers. You may also see the locals hearding their goats past the villas. The local People are lovely, kind, warm and very welcoming.

The holiday was lovely and your villa is really great. It made a perfect base for our holiday. We managed to fit in lots of activities, sea kayaking, gorge walking, rubber ring rafting, boat trips, beach trips, beach clubs, waterparks, exploring archaelogical ruins....

Your villa looks lovely in your brochure, and it was very pleasing to arrive and find that the villa really was as nice as it looks in the photos. It was very clean, well furnished and equipped and the swimming pool was beautifully clean and there is plenty of space around the pool for sunbathing. Ineke was a great help throughout the holiday, a really nice lady - nothing seemed too much trouble for her.

We have had 2 wonderful weeks to this perfectly located villa. Our friends from Norway were staying the the next villa & we have had a great time together. We loved Saklikent gorge & rafting down the river, Yaka Park which we visited twice,Tlos ruins, Fethiye market bazaar & Hamam, the twelve island boat trip & Olu Deniz. An excellent meal at mountain lodge restaurant ( thank you the did came & pick up both families and brought us home again). A wonderful trip to Kashmir and last but not least the fish market in Fethiye. The local villages were extremely friendly with invitations for tea made over sales of the local fresh backed bread and fresh tomatoes. The views from the villa were breathtaking and we loved the peace and quiet of the rural setting. This is our second trip to Turkey and I doubt it will be our last. By the way, lovely villa one of the nicest we have ever stayed in.

Excellent Villa in a superb countryside location

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed 3 wonderful weeks staying at the olive tree villa. The villa was very well maintained and has stunning views. Whilst it's rural location may put some people off we thought it was nice not to stay in a tourist spot and to see the real Turkey. It was close to the attractions of Saklikent gorge and the ruins of Tlos and Yakapark and only 30-40mins to Kalkan and Fethiye

By car fethiye is approx 40mins drive, Oludeniz approx 45mins drive, Kalkan approx 50 mins drive, Kapatus approx 50 mins drive Patara approx 40mins drive

Dalaman Airport is 70 mins. away & transfers can be arranged if required. Antalya Airport is 180 minutes away. It is advised that you hire a car, to make the most of your stay and be able to visit places of interest, the villa being located in the countryside.

Kadikoy village 5 mins. Kemer town 15 mins. Fethiye town 40 mins. Tlos ancient site 15 mins. Saklkent Gorge 10 mins. Patara Beach 40 mins. Kalkan town 50 mins.

Further Details:

You can walk out directly from the villa onto the various tracks and footpaths and into the protected woodland above the site. In Kadikoy village the shopkeepers are helpful, welcoming and will deliver provisions if asked. It has a Monday market. Other weekly markets are in Fethiye, Kalkan and Kemer. The carpet factory showroom in the village is well worth a visit, demonstrating traditional carpet making and displaying breathtaking examples of the craft. Ten minutes away, in the area of Tlos, are excellent restaurants & bars, including the Mountain Lodge which provides drinks, snacks & evening meals in a relaxed atmosphere around their pool, set in beautiful gardens with a children's play area. Beyond Tlos are restaurants such as Yaka Park where trout are farmed & fresh fish is served in delightfully shaded setting surrounded by cool running water ingeniously routed around the sitting areas - ideal in the middle of a hot day! The remains of the ancient city of Tlos can be seen from the villa. This was one of the principal settlements during the Lycian era, dating back to 2000BC. The Greeks, Romans and Ottomans have all occupied the site & there are extensive remains of the acropolis, theatre, agora, tombs, stadium etc. Along the Xanthos valley are other Lycian cities of Pinara, Letoon & Xanthos. Between Kadikoy & Saklikent Gorge are numerous wayside places where you cans eat in the traditional Turkish manner at very reasonable prices. Saklikent Gorge is very impressive & reputed to be the second longest in Europe, although only 4km is walkable. Go prepared to get damp as you wade through the icy melt waters. Afterwards recover with a meal on one of the eating platforms suspended over the river. This area also offers river rafting, mud bathing & tree houses in which you can arrange overnight stays. Kemer is the nearest town with a good Friday market and restaurants overlooking the river & town. In Fethiye, boat trips, scuba diving, shops and restaurants are on offer
