Having holidayed on the island for many years as our children have grown up i find it the most relaxing and tranquil place. I find the island very unspoiled and so wonderful for families. The people are very friendly and I feel very safe here. Owning a property here and having close friends who live on the island makes this a special location for me and my family.

Notes on accommodation: Air-con is available at an additional charge (pay to use meter facility). Outside: Secluded outside area with private pool (8m x 4m) for sole use of the residents. Paved patio area with a gazebo providing a shaded eating area and brick built barbecue. Sun loungers provided and their is facility at the side of the property for drying clothes. Utility Room: Seperate outside utility room includes washing machine and additional fridge freezer. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are provided and changed weekly. Other: Air-con available in two main bedrooms on a meter facility, floor safe, no pets or smoking is permitted in the property. Outside clothes line, sun beds and outside table and chairs for alfresco dining. Parking available opposite property or on driveway.

A LITTLE BIT OF PARIDISE

We have just returned from a 10 day stay at Villa El Barco.

Dealing with the owners was very easy and they were very helpful all the way through from the initial booking up to our departure.

The villa is lovely and was better than described with the only downside being a lack of English TV (this is not the owners fault but due to bad satelite reception in Minorca)

The pool was lovely and clean and there were plenty of comfortable sunbeds around the pool, which we never took full advantage of as we spent nearly all our days on the nearby beach, which is stunning.

The villa is in a great location and its only a short walk to the shops,bars,restaurants and beach.

We did use the aircon on a couple of occasions and It wasn't excessive at all with about 2 hours use for 1 euro.

We hired a car but this is not necessary as everything you could possibly wish for is within walking distance.

Binibeca is in a quiet area without any wild night life which is perfect for us.

I would reccomend this area and the property to any couples or families with young children as a perfect get away from it all destination, where you can relax, feel safe and have great time in a little bit of paradise

Villa in the Sun

We are a couple in our 50s and my husband is blind. We have friends in Binibeca. We have just returned from a week at El Barco. We found the villa as described. The kitchen has all the usual things that are needed for a holiday. The house was clean and everything functioning. The pool was lovely and clean and there were plenty of comfortable sunbeds around the pool. The outdoor eating area was adequate and the bbq very very good. There is plenty of fridge space and a washing machine which is handy. The villa is well situated it is a very short walk from a handy shop where you can buy most things. You do not need a car unless you wish to sight see. A short walk down a stoney narrow path takes you to a very special area to swim in the sea with a swim ladder to access. It isn't a terribly difficult walk but you need to watch your steps. This tiny cove is beautiful and clear and really good for snorkelling. A safe easy access beach with beach bar is about a ten minute walk. There are a selection of restaurants in the area. We ate at Smugglers which has very good steak, and a two for one drink offer between 6 and 7 pm. The owners are Scottish and very friendly. There is Delaneys next to it where we had breakfast and was good value. In the other direction towards Vell we ate at Binibeca Inn which offers beautiful view on the terrace. We also ate at The seafood place, and Binibeca Grill. We also did an evening on the otherside of the beach. So there is a wide selection of places to eat in the area. We bbqed at home twice where I did paella and a mixed grill. We did get a lift with our friends to the big supermarket near Mahon. We took a taxi to and from the airport which costs about 23 euros one way. It is worth hiring a car for a day and having a look around. We were lucky as our friend took us around on our first day. It is a quiet area not any wild night life. A place for early evenings or just sitting around the pool with friends. We are experienced travellers and take at least four holidays a year three of which would be to sunny places and we always rent a house or a flat. There is always a degree of difference between properties, cleanliness, location, etc. You need to bring beach towels. They can be purchased at a shop nearby. We did not need the aircon as it was mid June and the temperature wasn't excessive so I can't comment on how much it would cost if you were to pay extra for this. We had no problems and the owners were very nice.

Great location

We stayed in this villa for 2 weeks. The location is good within Bibibeca as it is halfway between the Vell and the beach. The path behind the villa leads to a rocky cove where you can snorkel and jump off the rocks. There are ladders to gain access to the sea. The villa itself was very nice but could probably do with a little TLC to make it much nicer. For example the Villa must have been damp over the winter months and this was apparent but also easily rectified. The villa also has a roof terrace which would be great if developed a bit further. Overall the location and character of the villa make it a great place to stay and the owners are very helpful and make sure any issues are acted on.
