About the Owner
The family and I know and enjoy the village ,its people and the benefits which come from living on the doorstep of one of the finest cities in the world ,Cannes.
You will often find us in the market (Forville) on a Saturday morning having a glass of champagne and exploring what's good and in season,we like cooking, wine, good weather, outdoor life and a cultured ambiance so I guess that describes why we live here.
SJ is a painter , teacher and likes gardens ( we have a lot of that) and the family is involved in film making, psychology and health.
The property has been in our familly for over 20 years and we have lived in Le Mas for the past seven. During this time we have made our cottage available to families, groups, the last being a fabulous bunch of actors ,and individuals

Hi Keith and Sarah-Jane
My family and I, three generations including a four year old, stayed here the first week in July in search of peace and sunshine. We were not disappointed. The cottage is in the most beautiful setting with stunning views of Auribeau over the hills, in equally stunning gardens. A true pleasure was lying in bed with the heady scent of jasmine wafting into the cool bedrooms, and awakening every morning to the song of birds.

what a fabulous holiday we had. Our hosts were wonderful throughout, gracious and helpful. The villa is wonderful and has the most beautiful grounds and a fabulous pool. My wife and kids had a truly special week and are happily planning our next trip.

Lovely property, warm welcome.
Great location for visiting the coast and inland villages. Big pool. Cottage is part of a larger house but with own privacy.
Lovely cottage with a lovely host
We were welcomed with a smile and a lovely fresh baked tart with rosé wine. The cottage lived up to all our expectations and the garden was just adorable. Nice surroundings for morning walks. Close to all excursion points around Nice. And best of all our helpful host who helped us with all her local knowledge.
Idyllic setting with superb host
The setting and property surpassed all our expectations. Cottage Auribeau is a stylish dwelling: an attractive blend of old French charcter and furnsihings with modern appliances. The setting is breath-taking. It feels secluded in the hills, yet is only a short distance from stunning Auribeau. We enjoyed the hills, the night time silence, the local river for taking a dip / paddling, hilltop Auribeau, and all the attractions of nearby Cannes and Nice. We are a family of two adults and 4 children (4-12 years) - the cottage was perfect for us, and we spent many happy hours in the magnificent swimming pool.
Sarah Jane, the owner, could not have been more hospitable. She made us feel welcome and at ease from the get go, including the provision of a beautiful light meal upon arrival - unexpected and much appreciated after a day of travel. Nothing was too much trouble for her, and all the arrangements for accessing the property were most straightforward. She was especially welcoming to our children. We would certainly hope to return some day.
A little touch of heaven!
Our hosts Keith and Sarah Jane were very accommodating and we shared their company on a view occasions for a drink and socialising.
We stayed as a family and our grandson had a lovely time swimming in the pool as did we!
We had use of all the facilities you need for a family holiday and our host were great and enjoyed both our grandsons company.
We would highly recommend this as a quaint and wonderful holiday spot with access to the cote d' azure with our hire car was great!
A highlight on our arrival as we were late getting in was a wonderful supper ready for us all prepared by Sarah Jane!! Salute!!
Excellent séjour ! Great stay !
Très belle maison, avec du charme, toute équipée ! Piscine immense et cadre paradisiaque. Merci infiniment à Sarah Jane pour ce moment, je recommande fortement !

From the Owner
“The property was bought after a holiday in Cannes on la Croisette during the early nineties when my brother bet my mother £50 she wouldn't have a place down here within a year. She won and we have all enjoyed the outcome. The family moved to live in le Mas ten years ago with the intention of letting the cottage for rental income. We enjoy the village life and especially Le Bar de Portail where Brigitte and Bruno make everyone welcome and serve a great pizza. We also love Theoule beaches and Cannes life. All are easy to get to. Here you can find tranquility or busy holiday life, it is really a choice. This is a haven of tranquility bound by nature and with easy access to everything the Cote D`Azur is famous for.”

By request guided art gallery visits, for example to the Meaght Foundation, Chagall Gallery or The Matisse can be arranged.
Foodies are welcome to an introduction to the local market and cooking scene. We are accomplished cooks and invite you to use the range of seasonal products and herbs growing around the grounds.
Theoule beaches are a fifteen minute drive.Should you want a private beach at say,The Marco Polo plage with its fabulous sea food restaurant this can be arranged. There are also expansive areas of public beaches and waters ports are available for the wake boarder, skier or sailor with excellent professional tuition.
We recommend a car.Nice airport is 35 Km distance and takes about half an hour.If you are travelling from Northern France it is an eleven hour drive. We have done the journey many times and know some fantastic places to overnight and make it all part of your holiday.
All distances and times are Michelin sourced.

Banks ,supermarkets and all the facilities you might expect are easy. Restaurants are probably some of the best you will find ,Le Castelleras with chef Alain Carro and favoured by the likes of Rod are within easy reach. We use the local market and for a bit of fun ( It is nothing to see champagne and early morning shopping as as good bedfellows) go to Forville in Cannes for the ultimate in produce, variety ,freshness and just fun.

From the Owner
“Eagles often ride the thermals in the afternoon over the Var and Tanneron hills which are laid out before you.Or for a sure eagle experience go to the restaurant Le Nid D`Aigle in Gourdon, a short drive, where you can have lunch with panoramic views of these majestic birds passing your window. There are many great restaurants in this area. Sunshine is all day and at night the river Siagne sounds in the background. The cottage at Le Mas is a true Provencal house built of big stone offering cool in the summer and warmth in the winter. If you want to relax by the pool with a book, or in a hammock dapple shaded, you can. Or party by the pool bar, thats fine. A lot of our visitors combine beach and poolside holidays. Most do the markets or enjoy eating in or out in the many local restaurants”
