About Janet and Howard Johnston

Hi, our names are Janet and Howard Johnston. We have both lived and worked in Yorkshire for many years, where we have raised our two children. We have had many family holidays in the Dordogne, where we fell in love with the sunshine, the people, the food and of course the beautiful scenery. Whether you are looking for peace and tranquility, sunshine and fun around the pool or history and culture on your doorstep - this property has it all. Happy Holidays Janet and Howard.

Janet and Howard Johnston purchased this farmhouse in 2011

Why Janet and Howard Johnston chose Perigord Vert

We have had such wonderful family holidays in this region. It offers so much - food, wine, sunshine, relaxation, culture, history as well as lots of outdoor activities such as swimming, canoeing, walking, horse riding, golf - so we finally decided to take the plunge in 2011 and buy ourselves a slice of the "joie de vie!"

The area is fantastic with its wonderful views, peace and tranquility, long summer days and warm nights looking at the stars. There are many of chateaux and castles to visit in the region as well as the unique prehistoric caves

What makes this farmhouse unique

The house is modern, comfortable , light and airy while still maintaining many period features. The views from the terrace over the shared swimming pool and tennis court are magnificant and ideal for sitting with a glass of something special. The stunning views, rural location with peace and tranquility make it somewhere to really unwind and relax.

Relaxing, beautiful and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We very rarely go back to the same property twice but we will be doing so next year as we have found the perfect property for us. The house itself is very comfortable and fully furnished to a high standard. The view from the balcony is marvellous especially when the sunflowers are out in the opposite fields. Also to burn off those inevitable calories when on holiday there is the large pool and tennis court which we made full use of. There are various outings to enjoy in wonderful countryside and there is a thriving market town very nearby. I would definitely recommend this property if you want a relaxing holiday.

Thankyou Janet and Howard we had a lovely time in your beautiful home. The house was easy to find and very clean on arrival. We loved the views from your kitchen over the beautiful surrounding countryside. Our kids loved the pool and tennis court. We really enjoyed the surrounding towns and had some great days out especially to Brantome. The gardens there are lovely and we'd recommend the boat tour to your future guests. Thankyou for an amazing holiday, we'll definitely return.
