Holiday Home in Almunecar, Costa Tropical of Granada, Spain - True Large Family House, Located On A Hill Overlooking The See, 15 Minutes Walking From The Beach

Villa overlooking the Mediterranean sea. Very sunny with large windows, decorated and equipped as a true family house. Ample outdoors facilities. Large and sunny swimming pool, shared but seldom used. Fully air conditioned

Going by the pictures of the property, the main floor has a very spacious living room with wide windows over the Mediterranean (some are floor to ceiling windows), a bathroom and a large kitchen. On the upper level we find the Master Bedroom, with en-suite bathroom and a private sitting/reading area, two more bedrooms sharing an ample terrace over the sea, and a third bathroom. On the lower floor there is a very large bedroom with its own sitting and playing area, ideal for children.

The outside areas include a large porch with great sea views, a large and shaded BBQ area, a children play area next to the porch, a sun-bathing area and a garden. On the lower level there is a covered garage for one car.

You may notice that we have also included a picture of the outdoor children play area at night from the back porch, just to clearly convey the notion that the property is ideal for families with children: You can enjoy your time, while children safely play close to you, or play inside in their large bedroom with sitting and play areas.

The house is ideal for families or for friends sharing vacations together, but nor for bachelor parties or the like. You will be part of a very friendly community living in the area, and you will be expected to follow common sense and respectful attitudes.

We are a Spanish couple in our fifties, living in Madrid. We know the Granada area very well, since we were born the two of us in that beautiful town.

We enjoy going back to Granada from time to time, but we seldom manage to do so more than a couple of times during the year, and never for too long..

We wanted to have a house at the beach of Granada, at its most iconic town, Almunecar, large, full of light, with great views, the ideal spot for living there.... and this is the house you are renting. A true family house carefully selected to provide a very pleasant stay in town.

fantastic! spacious villa with great sea view in lovely part of Spain

This villa is a real find - enough space for all six of us to relax easily, large pool and a short drive from any stuff you may need. The place is well equipped and clean and the owner friendly and provided some good tips for local dining. We had lovely days at various local beaches and towns, or at the pool (or both). Lots of great tapas and seafood out and some long meals straight off the bbq at the villa. The area is very nice and feels very 'spanish' with a cooling breeze to take the edge off the heat. I would definitely recommend this villa.

Wonderful relaxing week in Las Gaviotas

We stayed for a week in Las Gaviotas ( 2 adults, 2 children ) and during the weekend we had family come to stay with us. The house is even better than what you see on the web - fantastic views, a lovely garden with BBQ, large rooms and a great pool. It is fully equipped, including the kitchen, which isn´t always easy. We had everything we needed to enjoy a really relaxing holiday, including a visit to the water park, Aqua Tropic, just a few minutes´drive from the house. Highly recommendable, we will certainly return next year !!

WONDERFUL HOUSE WITH A GREAT LOCATION

We lived in the house throughout the month of October for the fourth time from 2012 to 2015

and have enjoyed the house , the surroundings, the pool and Almunecar old town.

Absolutely Fabulous!

We stayed for a week at this beautiful villa and loved every minute of it.

The views were amazing, the area tranquil and the villa was spotlessly clean, very well equipped and had everything you could want - but - it would have been lovely to be able to watch English television at the end of an evening. On a plus side, at least it improved our Spanish!

The manager, Joaquin, was most welcoming and very helpful indeed and was always on hand if needed.

There are a number of restaurants close-by and a brilliant ice cream parlour, and the town centre isn't far at all which has loads of excellent restaurants and tapas bars.

You do need a car though as the villa is set pretty high up and although the walk down may have been fun, we didn't try it as the thought of the "hike" back up put us off.

I would highly recommend this villa and haven't stopped thinking about it since we got home! Roll on our next visit.

A perfect break in the Winter sun

A well equipped attractive villa in superb location overlooking the sea. Quiet residential requiring a car to obtain the best out of this stunning region. The villa is ideal for medium term winter break at a most reasonable cost. Owner ensures through his local agent that all one's needs are promptly attended to. Fabulous place

This is a fabulous house with a very nice view and a cosy atmosphere. It is set in a small garden but with a magnificent large terrace, and in a very quiet neighbourhood. It takes only about 20 minutes to walk into town, so you have the best of an 'urbanisacion' setting combined with the short distance to town. The lay-out of the house, with the very nice sitting room with panorama windows and the upper balcony of two of the bedrooms, is very practical and convenient. We also enjoyed the fact that the WiFi seems to work very well, even when we were eight people online during the peak of Christmas. We also liked the fact that the house evidently 'belonged' to someone who also uses it and is not just something used to bring in money from those who rent it. Some of the facilities may be a bit old (dishwasher, washing machine, fridge) but worked and that's all we needed. The location is also perfect for day trips to various parts of Andalucia, whether walks in the mountains behind Almunecar or going by car further afield. If one does not have a car there are good connections by bus from Almunecar to e.g. Granada and Malaga. And you will find no place on the coast with a better climate! As mentioned we were eight people for a bit more than a week and the house never felt cramped, offering enough space(s) to which one can escape.

Location

From the Owner

We are, my wife and me, from Granada, and we have known the area since we were small children. Naturally, we have a strong attachment for Almunecar, and we have spent years looking for an interesting property to have a house there.... we found it, finally, and we now propose you to share that property with us. We were born in Granada, but we left this town in the early 80's. We now return there from time to time, but never for too long. This is the reason why we rent the house.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Malaga at 90 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Velilla at 1 Kilometres Car: recommended

Almuñecar is full of bars and restaurants, from very simple ones to truly upscale choices like Calabajio.

Our house is on a hill overlooking the sea. For young people it is perfectly feasible to go and come back on foot (our children have always done so), while we, ourselves, we prefer to take the car to nearby parking areas (there are plenty surrounding the historical center of the town)

We understand that renting over Internet may be perceived as risky, and because of that we channel all the rental financial and legal transactions through one of the best known Real State agencies in Almuñecar (the one that sold us the house)

The length of the stay can be negotiated. We have just presented in the Table the most common cases. Winter rentals are welcomed, including long term ones.

Changeover Day:
Standard arrival time is after 15:30 pm. Standard departure time is at 10:30 am.

Prices are for up to six guests. Additional guests, up to 10, increase the price by 75E/week/person.

GRANADA DEAL: You can plan for a day visit to Granada. However, you may miss the view of Alhambra at night, a taste of the Granada Tapas, or a very special dinner on a cave watching flamenco. Consider staying a couple of night at our property in Granada (property S28471) and enjoy 15% off.

Our house is on a hill over the sea, with more than 400 m2 and 150 m2 of construction. You will enjoy great views while having ample space around you in a fully air conditioned villa. The living room is open to the sea, with a large seating area, a dining set and a fireplace. The large Master Bedroom enjoys a queen bed, great views, a reading area and a large bathroom. The second bedroom has its own large sitting area, ideal for young people to have their independence. There are two more bedrooms sharing a terrace. There are three bathrooms in total The outdoor areas are very ample, including a children play area by large porch at the back and a shaded BBQ area The house is 15 minutes walking from the beach We share a very large and sunny swimming pool, seldon used.
