Penthouse Apartment in Albufeira Old Town, Central Algarve, Portugal - Peaceful Location In Albufeira's Famous Old Town.

This is a top floor high spec apartment with all rooms exiting onto front facing balcony with a 180 degree sea views. Apartment will sleep 4/5 comfortably and is fully air conditioned. It has a fully fitted kitchen with washing machine, dishwasher, internet linked to tv with dvd player. We're renting for the second time this year, having owned since 2008 and had some fantastic holidays with our friends.

About the Owner

We purchased the apartment from new in 2008 after our first visit to Portugal, as we were bowled over by the Old Town of Albufeira and the stunning views from the apartment. We have had many enjoyable holidays throughout the year and particularly enjoy September and October when the sea is a little warmer! We have two teenage daughters who enjoy the night life in the Old Town which is easily walkable and safe. For those who are slightly older like ourselves, there is nothing better than to sit on the balcony at night with a glass of very good Portuguese wine! During the daytime, the views are stunning and it's great to watch the boats coming and going in the bay. It's also a great place to sunbathe!

Lovely relaxing break

I stayed at this apartment with my mum and nephew and it had all the facilities we needed for a very comfortable stay. The place was very clean and had a fantastic balcony which had very comfortable furniture to sit in the sun for hours.

Fabulous appartment with beautiful sea views .

Fabulous appartment with stunning sea views. Nice quite location but within easy walk to old town where there is a immense of bars , restaurants and shops. There is local supermarket just down the hill with plenty of food to choose from fresh hot rolls every day .and a local bar (ARTE BAR ) for first or last drinks just around the corner from the supermarket lovely food and staff are very friendly all you can eat BBQ on Sunday's. Thanking paul and Shelly for the stress free booking and transfers from and to the airport . Would recommend this appartment to friends and family . Beautiful apartment. Good for Old Town & Marina.

The apartment is on the top floor of a smallish apartment block with lovely sea views (although slightly obscured by the hotel roof opposite). The balcony is long, with comfortable outdoor furniture, and is a lovely place to sit and look out to sea - both day and evening.

It is a beautifully furnished, spotless and very comfortable apartment. With 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, it was perfect for our family of 4 with our 15 and 12 year old sons. In fact - they often didn't want to leave the apartment as they enjoyed just 'chilling' there.

In terms of location, it is midway between Old Town (about 10-15 mins walk) and the Marina (about 15-20 mins walk). Both areas are nice for a night out. It took us about 10 mins to walk to the elevator down to Fisherman's Beach, which is a beautiful but busy so get there before 10am if you want sun-loungers and umbrellas. There is a decent sized supermarket a couple of minutes walk downhill (uphill carrying shopping bags). We bought food for breakfast and lunch in the apartment, as well as wine and beer for late night drinks on the balcony. We then ate out each night at various places.

The pool area is small and private. It's a bit shady in the mornings but has sun from around lunch time. There are plenty of loungers for the residents and lots of inflatables for the kids. At first I thought it was a bit small, but actually we really enjoyed it sat down there and found it very peaceful.

We frequented a very friendly bar called Artes Bar next to the supermarket, where they had a great BBQ night, music and cocktails. We also went there on the first night as we arrived quite late after the supermarket had closed, and we were able to get pizza delivered to the table from the restaurant next door. There are also plenty of different restaurants and bars as you walk towards the Old Town.

In summary, it's a quiet, private location but within walking distance of livelier places. If you like big hotels with lots to do and entertainment, then maybe not for you. But if you want a relaxing, private, peaceful time and the freedom to arrange your own itinerary and choose different places to eat and drink, then it is perfect.

The communication from the owners was excellent before and after the trip. The agent met us at the apartment to show us round, after a quick phone call on leaving the apartment.

If I could change anything - I'd have stayed a few more days as we only had a week.

Location of the apartment was excellent, easy walk to the beach, marina and the old strip. Great views from the balcony. Apartment was spotless and had all amenities. Great to have wifi also. Would highly recommend this apartment to anyone.

Beautiful apartment

The apartment is in a quiet location within walking distance of the town centre, although up hill on the way back! However, that is why there is a lovely view across the bay. Check in was easy and the apartment was extremely clean. The apartment is well furnished and having wi-fi is a real bonus.

The owners, Paul and Shelley were great to deal with and very helpful.

I definitely recommend this apartment. You have the benefit of the town but are far enough away that the late night partying doesn't affect you.

A view with wow factor!

Pristine apartment with all home comforts (internet particularly appreciated by teenagers) situated in a quiet area but only short walk to bars and restaurants of old town. Beautiful terrace for sunny morning breakfast with a stunning view right across the bay. Paul & Shelly provided everything for a hassle free holiday including arranging a reasonably priced airport transfer. Would definately visit again and would recommend to friends.

From the Owner

The apartment is in a quiet residential area and is opposite the Hotel Boa Vista. You can walk down into the Old Town along the cliff top and Fisherman's beach is a favourite for an early morning coffee and to 'people watch'!

Activity and Interests


There are some beautiful beaches within 10 mins car drive and these are Gale, Salgados, San Rafael and many more. Fisherman's beach is the main beach in Old Albufeira and that is walkable from the apartment (approx 10mins).

There is also a very good shopping centre called Algarve Shopping in Guia which has all the usual boutiques and also designer outlets plus a large supermarket. Worth a visit Ladies!

There is a local supermarket within walking distance and also a Lidl in Albufeira.


Faro is approx 35 mins in a car and transfer can be arranged for your stay (cost for 4 approximately 80 euros return).


Albufeira Old Town / Main Beach / Marina - approx 10 mins walk.

Faro is approx 35 mins by car.

Silves is approx 75 mins and this takes you into the hills of Monchique.

Further Details:

There are many good restaurants and bars in the Old Town and we provide information on these in a booklet in the apartment. It also contains information on boat hire, day trips etc.

Booking Notes:
A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the booking fee is required to secure your holiday. Full payment is required 6 weeks before your holiday plus a security deposit of 200 pounds to reflect the high standard of the apartment. This security deposit will be refunded within 7 days of your return. A check-in service will be provided by our local agent.

Changeover Day:
We operate a flexible policy and will try to accommodate any reasonable requests. The apartment will ordinarily be available from 3pm on arrival and guests are requested to leave by 10am on departure.

Notes on prices:
Please note these prices do not include Easter or Christmas weeks. Prices available on request. Prices are for 4 guests sharing the apartment, we're happy to provide a quote for 5 guests (i.e. if another bed is required).

We're also happy to quote for longer term rental bookings (eg one to two months) in the off season (i.e. November through to March) and have changed the layout (7/2013) of the lounge to accommodate longer stays.
