2-bed Villa with marina water frontage and mooring, near restaurants, beaches and historic town of Aigues Mortes

A newly built property on a private gated cul de sac in a new marina development. The property is easily reached by air (Montepellier 20 mins, Nimes 40 mins, Avignon 55 mins), by rail (10 mins walk from Aigues Mortes station, Nimes connection to TGV) and road (20 mins off main A9 to Barcelona). Local attractions include the ancient walled town of Aigues Mortes (short walk), the Roman cities of Nimes (40 mins), Arles (50 mins), the working fishing town of Grau du Roi (15 mins), the vast expanse of white sandy beaches at L'Espiguette, waterskiing, jetskiing, zipwire and 'go-ape' equivalent, horse riding on the Camargue, quad biking/sail/windsurf schools, golf all close by.

The villa is on two floors, on the ground floor, kitchen, dinning lounge area with double doors leading out onto a large deck and small walled garden with the marina beyond. Seating for 6 adults on the deck with bar-b-q and loungers for guests. Also a downstairs cloakroom and study area with printer.

Upstairs, two bedrooms and bathroom with separate toilet. Master double bedroom has plenty of storage, and double doors leading out to small balcony overlooking the marina and private mooring. Second bedroom can be a twin room or large double.

The villa is situated in a private development behind automatic gates, and a parking space for one car is only a matter of feet from the front door. A car is recommended however there is Lidl supermarket only 10 min walk from the villa, and Aigues Mortes railway station only 2 km walk with trains to Le Grau du Roi and Nimes and beyond.

Why Mr Andrew Baker chose Camargue - Costieres

We found the marina development - Port du Roy/St Louis - at the French property exhibition at Olympia in 2005, we bought off-plan and the dream unfolded. We watched the marina develop over the years, often frustratingly slowly, but finally moved in October 2007. The area in and around Aigues Mortes was unknown to us, and half the excitement was the thought of being able to fully explore and feel at home in a new part of France. The ancient fortified walled town of Aigues Mortes is only a short walk (approx. 15 minutes) and has many good restaurants and bars, the beaches are a 20 minute drive away.

What makes this house unique

The house has a double room and a twin bedded room, fully equipped kitchen bathroom, walk in shower and two toilets. It is comfortably furnished, has heating and air conditioning, a decked garden and balcony from the master bedroom.

The house in located on a private gated island with private parking at front and the garden faces south overlooking the marina at the rear.

The marina is accessible from the Mediterranean and the property has a 13m mooring and pontoon for easy access. The trip out to sea takes approximately 30 minutes at Le Grau du Roi, a picturesque fishing village.

Once out to sea you can head out by boat to the left past Port Camargue to the vast expanse of sandy beaches at L'Espigquette or head right to La Grande Motte and the water skiing lake at L'Etang du Ponan

Another fantastic Stay

Another great stay in a wonderful villa. Enjoyed breakfast overlooking the Marina and cycling into Aigues Mortes for evening meals. Uzes on Wednesdays (market day) followed by afternoon kayaking through Pont du Gard deserved two visits this year and Marseille was breathtaking (advise going on the bus tour to get an overview of the whole area). Great villa and region with lots to see and do - we'll be back!

Great autumn break

We enjoyed our stay at the Marina despite some very vocal ducks!! The villa is very comfortable and well equipped (the Molton Brown products were a very nice touch), and Debbie Brake (local manager) was quite flexible and helpful. Despite an unpromising forecast, the weather was fine and we spent some very pleasant evenings eating dinner and playing canasta on the terrace. Since we know the surrounding area quite well we decided to stay local, explored on our bikes (serious bikers should note that good biking routes are limited), ate lots of moules and huitres, sampled the vin de sable and went for long walks along an almost deserted Espiguette beach. All in all, a great autumn break.

Wow - our 2nd visit and luckily we were able to stay 3 weeks this time! There are still things we haven`t done and places to go. Knowing the villa we were going to gave me complete peace of mind on our journey down which I could enjoy. We decided to visit Barcelona as it is only just under 4 hours drive away and it was great.

A very comfortable home from home which I can totally recommend and I am not ruling out a 3rd visit!

This was our second visit and was just as good as the first. The accommodation is of an excellent standard with everything you need - a real home from home. This is a great base for exploring the region and we'll definitely be back next year!

lovely holiday in a lovely villa! Very well equipped and furnished - we had a very relaxing time here. From the moment we opened the front door it became "home".Lovely to sit outside or upstairs on the balcony in the sunshine. Whether the weather is good or bad or if you just want a quiet time this villa is great. A big plus for us is the handrail on the stairs going all the way up as my wife has trouble with stairs!Being in a gated area gives you good peace of mind.

We are looking forward to returning in 2014 as there is still a lot to see. It is the first time we have stayed in a property like this and I would have no hesitation in reccommending it .

Our English/French speaking agent arrange to meet you and give you the keys upon arrival. A discount is available for bookings in excess of 2 weeks (high season) and 1 week (low season). 30% of rental payable on booking, remainder 8 weeks prior to arrival. £300 deposit is paid with final payment, later bookings require full payment at time of booking. All payments in Euro or Sterling can be made by bank transfer on request.

An additional charge is made for groups of 5 or more of £100 pppw.

Changeover Day:
Saturday is the preferred changeover day, but we can be flexible, arrival time is usually 4pm unless the villa is already vacant.

Notes on prices:
We will consider discounts for advance bookings (6 months prior to arrival) and discounts for extended stays (1 week or more) excluding high season.

Boat rental is under seperate pricing to be arranged with owner - licence required.

Both bedrooms have individual sensors for hot blown or cold blown air with temperature control. Additional fan and wall heaters are available in winter. Additional charge of £100 per booking if the house is booked for less than 7 days and where guests exceed 4 £100 pppw charged for 5th & 6th guest.
