Notes on accommodation: The apartment has been inspected and licensed by Camara Municipal de Tavira and as such complies with their safety requirements (gas/electrical certification and fire precautions). The apartment includes fire extinguisher, fire blanket and first aid kit. We require that for the benefit of all guests the apartment remains a smoke free zone. There is a video controlled entry system to the apartment and fitted electric window shutters. Remote operated air conditioning to the bedrooms and living area at no additional cost, which can be used for heating during the cooler months. TV viewing via the Freesat digibox - can be programmed using your own home postcode. Hairdryers supplied. Outside: The landscaped gardens are kept to a high standard with grassed areas flower beds and hedges maintained by the condominium gardener. The complex is fenced and gated and is therefore safe for children. There is a large shared swimming pool and shallow pool for children, which are illuminated during the evenings. Adjacent to the swimming pool is a decked sun terrace complete with sun loungers and parasols. There is also a covered shaded area if preferred. The apartment is situated close to the pool and has its own small private garden area, which is ideal for families. At night the gardens, pools, pathways etc are illuminated and provide a restful and relaxing ambience during the evenings. Utility Room: Storage cupboard with ironing board, iron, vacuum cleaner, clothes airer, broom, mops and buckets. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Meet and greet on arrival by HomeKeys Property Management. Apartment cleaned prior to arrival, additional cleaning service available upon request. A little bit of paradise

We've just had an absolutely fantastic week. What a find! The apartment was amazing. Right by the pool. The welcome pack was a brilliant touch....no looking for a supermarket the moment we arrived. Thank you Sue & Harry. Lots of walking and exploring.....still so much to do. We'll definitely be going back.

Relaxing Holiday in lovely Tavira

We enjoyed a lovely relaxing stay in Harry and Sue's apartment. it was in a good position by the pool. It was clean, spacious and comfortable with everything provided that we needed. We enjoyed walking into town, to visit some of the restaurants and cafes and also to take the boat to the beach. I was worried that this would be a chore, but in fact, it was a fun part of the holiday and gave us lovely views of Tavira from a distance. The beach was perfect for us. An easy walk from the boat, with a good variety of restaurants and plenty of sun beds to hire. The best thing was the lack of any cars, so it was so peaceful and quiet.

Lovely property in ideal surroundings

We've just returned from a two week family holiday at this apartment at Terracos de Tavira and, for us, it was absolutely ideal!

Firstly, the apartment itself is beautiful and is probably one of the nicest we've stayed in. It was spacious, clean, modern, well equipped and had everything we needed to keep a family of four (with an 11 and 16 year old) happy such as aircon, wifi, two bathrooms etc.

The apartment is on the ground floor and is literally a pebble's throw from the pool, which we really like. The 4 sunbeds provided were really comfortable (unlike those hard plastic slatted ones you sometimes get!) and light enough for even my youngest daughter to carry out to the grassed area with ease. There were many options when it came to where to sit around the pool - either the wooden decked area, the paved area next to the shallow pool, which we commented would have been fantastic when our children were toddlers, or the beautifully tended grassed area, complete with a few trees to provide shade if you wanted. You could even position your sunbed to take advantage of the far reaching sea view if you wished!

Sometimes the pool was quiet and we had it to ourselves, and sometimes it got a little busier (but not too busy) & had a nice buzz to the place. We met some lovely people around the pool and my daughter had some friends her own age to play with. However, if this isn't your thing, it never gets too busy or noisy.

Tavira itself is lovely and is a ten minute walk from the apartment down the 120 steps close by. We walked back on an evening but if the climb up the steps isn't for you, getting a taxi in Tavira is so easy. It's 5 euros back and the taxi drivers are polite and friendly and drive modern, air conditioned cars. We didn't even hire a car during our stay and just used taxi's to get back from the supermarket with our shopping, and to and from the airport. There are so many restaurants in Tavira, it can be hard to choose. In August, we were told by a man in the pool that we got chatting to, it can be better to book a table in advance at some of the more popular ones. Easy enough to do by getting the phone number off Tripadvisor or Facebook and there's always an English speaking voice to take your booking. You might have to book a few days in advance. We went to El Castelo (the best steaks ever - we went twice!), D'Gusta, O Patio, Brisa do Rio, Aquasul, Tavira Lounge and can recommend them all.

A fantasic holiday and we hope to return!

Lovely modern, spacious apartment in Tavira

We were very pleased when we arrived at the apartment as it was just as described. Modern, spacious, well equipped with a lovely pool. The location was perfect for walking into Tavira which itself is a wonderful old town with lots of bars and great restaurants. It was also close enough to walk to the ferry which takes you to Tavira Island which is a beautiful beach. We loved everything about our stay and would love to go back. The owners were very helpful and the whole booking process was brilliant from start to finish. Thanks Sue 😊

A Perfect Holiday!!

Well what can I say, we had the most perfect of holidays, thanks to your lovely apartment. I'm so pleased we found it on the Owners Direct Website.

As I say, your apartment is just lovely and has everything you could wish for. We had such hot weather when we arrived so the pool and aircon was such a blessing!! The pretty gardens and pool are so well maintained and the complex is quiet, so we couldn't have wished for more. Also a perfect location, just a 10 minute walk from the lovely restaurants, cafes and bars that Tavira offer. A perfect setting. Thank you so much, we will definitely be back and will be recommending to family and friends.

Great for Relaxing

I just want to say thanks for a great holiday in Tavira. The apartment was first class, everything you could wish for, comfortable and in a good location just minutes from the heart of the charming town centre. The weather was mild all the time and positively warm for the last four days. We even laid on the beach and watched a couple of youngsters brave the water. The carnival in Loule was tremendous fun too. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and family.

Coast/Beach:

Beaches in the Eastern Algarve are long & golden with clear, warm water. Isla de Tavira offers beach cafes, bars, restaurants, long walks & sports activities. This 4km stretch of coast remains unspoilt and peaceful. The island can be reached by a short ferry crossing from Tavira town, ferry taxi from Quatro Aguas or miniature train from Santa Luzia to the beach at Praia do Barril. There are also many other clean, sandy beaches along the 24km coast towards the Spanish border or Faro to the west.

Travel:

Faro airport is approximately 39km/35mins drive away. Airport transfers can be arranged. Car hire is available at the airport or can be pre booked online for very competitive rates. A rail link from Faro to Tavira operates approximately every 2-3 hours and typically takes 30min.

Distances:

From the apartment Tavira town is a 5-8 minute walk via steps set into the hillside and along the banks of the River Gilão. The Spanish border is approximately 20 minutes drive to the east along the N125 or the A22 motorway. Faro, Albufeira and Vilamoura are less than 30 minutes drive to the west. There are several unspoilt villages within 10 minutes drive.

Further Details:

Tavira town is a working fishing port and is regarded as the most beautiful and characteristic town on the Eastern Algarve known as "Little Venice" or the "Gem of the Eastern Algarve". Tavira’s history stems back to Roman and Moorish times, with its narrow cobbled streets and Roman bridge spanning the River Gilão. Exploring Tavira is a pleasure, either by foot, horse drawn carriage or the miniature train. A visit to Tavira Island and its beaches is a must.

A plethora of riverside bars, cafés and restaurants specialising in locally caught seafood and traditional Portuguese dishes await your discovery, as does the romantic square, where during the summer months a variety of open air music festivals can be enjoyed.

There is a daily market selling delicious local produce, fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and fish. Alternatively there are several well known supermarkets in the town. A chemist, post office, tourist office, bus/train station, newsagent, ferry point, banks and cash points are all within easy reach. For a 360 degree view of Tavira the camera obscura located within the disused water tower in the centre of the town is well worth a visit. Further afield the nearby unspoilt fishing villages of Santa Luzia, Fuzeta, Cacela Velha and Cabanas are only 5-10 min drive and are also worth exploring. The Ria Formosa Nature Reserve is an ornithologists’ dream where flamingos are regular visitors. The Eastern Algarve boasts long white sandy beaches many of which hold the prestigious blue flag.

A non refundable 30% deposit is payable at the time of booking. Balance required 8 weeks prior to arrival. Security deposit of £150/200 euro payable with the balance which will be refunded within 2 weeks of departure subject to satisfactory inspection. To comply with insurance regulations we are unable to accommodate pets or smokers.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is flexible. We will try to meet your needs with arrival and departure times as much as possible, however during peak periods we request guests vacate the apartment by 10am, unless otherwise arranged.

Notes on prices:
A non refundable 30% deposit is payable at the time of booking. The balance is required eight weeks prior to arrival. A security deposit of 200 euros is payable with the balance and will be refunded within two weeks of departure, subject to satisfactory inspection.
