Villa in Old Town Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote, Canary Islands - Peaceful, Quiet Location, 4/5 Min Walk To Supermarket and 10 Min To Harbour & Beach

High security walls make for a very private location, pool is always very hot ideal for children. Non slip tiles fitted around pool to prevent children slipping and hurting themselves, sun loungers on terrace around pool. The roof is a natural sun trap with sun loungers and magnificent sea and mountain views. The shopping mall, 4/5 minute walk away is fully stocked supermarket, excellent English butcher, restaurant, English & Scottish pubs. In the villa there are 3 bedrooms one has bathroom attached and the other two share one. There is a large kitchen with all equipment you will need. There is also a washing machine and as the water is very soft clothes come out lovely and soft. If you hang out clothes they are dry in a few hours which is great. There is an ironing board should you feel up to it!

About Peter / Agnes Flanagan

This is our second home - our home away from home! We like to have all the things here that we would have at home, so much so that we come here as often a possible. Our family have been coming to Lanzarote for over 30 years! As our daughters are all grownup now, we thought we were rid of them, but they now keep coming back with their friends in tow, so it seems to be getting more use than ever.

The weather is always good and where we are located there is a handy supermarket and several pubs and good local restaurants.

As we like walking there are many good walks, the local council have done a very good job on the walkways going to Puerto Calero and in the opposite direction to Arrecife. There are lots of very good gyms around Puerto del Carmen, the best is probably the one in Fariones, so if you want to work off the extra pounds that you have put on, there's no excuse!

We bought this property many years ago as we loved coming here. It had everything we needed, a good location, quiet residential area that was safe for our children, who were small at the time. It also has very good local shops, restaurants, pubs etc and the harbor is only a 10 minute walk. As we liked walking you could easily walk to Puerto Calero which is an easy walk in less than an hour and there are lovely restaurants there and some nice shops too.

What makes this villa unique

It's quiet, ideal for a nice relaxing holiday away from the noise of nightclubs etc and also very safe for children. There are some lovely local bars and restraunts all within 10 minutes walk. If you do want to go out for the night no problem as you can get a Taxi back for 3 - 5 Euro from nearly any part of the town. The point being you don't need a car, walk to wherever you fancy and get a taxi back! I think one of the nicest things about PDC is that the people are very friendly, the island has a really interesting history and there is always something to do, places to go and some of the best restaurants and coffee shops anywhere. But then I would say that wouldn't I, and in fairness I wouldn't change a word of what I have said!! Enjoy your holiday.

Great place to stay

Very nice villa in a wonderful location. My family and I have stayed in several villas in puerto del carmen, including one on the same street, and this one is up there with the best of them. The pool is lovely and warm, my two boys 15yo & 13yo were never out of it. Everythink you could need is suplied including a printer, which came in very hany since I forgot to print our transfer paper work. The location in my opinion is the best in Lanzarote, at the end of the street you have the wonderful harbour with its picturesque views and the perfect walk into the old town. The owners Peter and Agnes made the booking process very easy and gave us all the information we needed for our stay. When I plan our next holiday I will certainly look at the availability of Casa Colleen.

Slightly disappointed.

Was looking forward to staying in this Villa but unfortunately was a bit disappointed. It is in a fabulous location, handy for supermarket, bars and restaurants but feel like the property itself needs some TLC. The photos of the villa need updating. We only saw the cleaner once during our stay and that was 4 days after we arrived, bed linen was not changed in the 11 days we were there. Having said that, we enjoyed our stay and can highly recommend Marios nearby for great food.

On reading same we contacted the management company immediately and they informed me that the linen was actually changed on Friday and that you were there yourselves as I originally thought that you were out and may not have seen the cleaners. This management company is excellent and as you will appreciate, we do not live on the Island so we use the best we can get. Furthermore, we recommend that all guests contact the management company whilst there should there be any requests or issues and they will be sorted promptly. Once again thank you.

Tranquil and relaxing

Very spacious and well cleaned and managed property. The owners Peter and Agnus are very prompt replying to emails within half an hour unlike some owners once payment has been made is like cat and mouse game.

The equipment in the villa is very modern and of high quality and very comfortable beds! Although in the old part of town it's close to a convenience store and some lovely restaurants and bars and walking distance of everything else and taxis are very cheap if needed. The coastal walk is less than five minutes walk from villa with breathtaking views. I and my family have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return in the near future. A lovely villa in a quiet select area

A lovely comfortable villa, the heated pool is an added bonus.

The locality is in a lovely quiet street, yet only a few minutes walk to supermarket and restaurants and bars.

We had a lovely relaxing time with all the comforts of home and would have stayed longer if we could.

Great villa in an excellent location

This is a really well maintained and lovely villa. Cleaners and pool service come every 4 days which meant everything remained clean and fresh throughout our entire two week stay. Much of the outdoor furniture looks new and indoors there are really comfy leather sofas and a massive master bedroom. Shops, 3 bars and an Italian restaurant are a couple of minutes walk away, whilst the harbour is about 10 mins downhill with lots of restaurants and bars. If you can't face the walk back up hill taxis are plentiful in the harbour and cheap (3 euro).

Prior to our arrival the communication with Agnes and Peter was excellent - always responding promptly to e-mails and so on.

The road is really quiet and we heard practically no-one whilst we were there, so we enjoyed two weeks of hot sunshine (the pool area gets the sun all day) and peace and quiet. If we come back to Puerto Del Carmen we would certainly consider staying here again.

As it is our second home we like to keep standards high at all times and rely totally on our Management Company to sort out any issues that may arise, hence our reason for advising guests to complain ‘In House’ when something can be done and whatever issues or concerns they may have be dealt with and sorted thus making their stay more enjoyable. All the necessary management company details are in the villa. All the issues referred to above and below have been addressed, furniture has been replaced, new chairs and all the other necessary repairs carried out. Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Aeropuerto de Lanzarote, Aerrcife at 10 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : The Highlander at 300 Metres Nearest Golf : Tias Golf course at 3 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : Marios at 300 Metres Nearest Beach : Fariones Beach at 1 Kilometres Car: not necessary

Special interest holidays:

Several diving centres - the underwater life is something else and all are properly qualified, good surfing on the North side of the island. If you are into walking you can start at Casa Colleen and walk to Puerto Calero along the new cliff walk in about 45 minutes and you will be well rewarded when you get there as there are some lovely restaurants, Cafes and upmarket shops. If you go the other direction you can walk all the way to Arrecife, but you might want to get the bus back!

Coast/Beach:

The coast line varies from beautiful beaches in Puerto del Carmen to rocky cliffs along the route to Puerto Calero, which is also a really lovely walk which has been enhanced with a proper walking route, it takes about 50 minutes. There are lovely restaurants and shops there and if you dont feel like walking back get the taxi.

Travel:

Arecife airport is less than 15 minutes drive. There are always plenty of taxis there and cars can also be hired at the airport. If you require directions by car from the airport to the villa please let us know and we will send you them.

Distances:

All shops, restaurants, pubs are within walking distance. If you want, you can walk from the villa to the other side of the town in about 45 minutes. You don't need to hire a car as taxis are very cheap. If you do want to travel around Lanzarote you can hire bikes, cars or jeeps it's up to you!

Further Details:

There is always something to do.... something to be seen.... or somewhere to go, in Lanzarote. That’s probably its biggest attraction.

If you are a family with children or a couple looking for a romantic break there are tours to all part of the island - Timanfaya National Park is well worth a visit.

However most women seem to have a Black Belt in shopping and they won’t be disappointed as Biosphere Shopping centre is only about 10 minutes from villa with lots of good shops and bargains but don’t stop there head down the main strip or even into Arrecife. There’s plenty of good night life and lots of really good restaurants which won’t disappoint you and if you over indulge there are some excellent gyms to help return you to normal (The one in Fariones Hotel is probably the best in Puerto del Carmen, lovely setting and spotless).
