Villa on New Golden Mile, Nr. Estepona and Marbella,Costa del Sol, Spain - The Perfect Location - Own Pool, Only 2 Mins stroll To Lovely Beach, Easy Walk Nightlife/Food/Shops

Pluma Piedra is spacious and contemporary, recently refurbished (2012) to a very high specification. It has full air-con/heating throughout, open-plan lounge, leather sofas, traditional log fire. The wall-mounted flat-screen TV has SKY, and there is a DVD player, WiFi throughout the house, ipod docking station and even a gate intercom so you can open the gate without leaving the home! The shaded verandah has dining and lounge area, There is a large, mobile BBQ & a table tennis table on the lawns of the large private garden. This is a great location for family groups because there is a lot of space, the Villa is close to the beach and there is a large pool which will accommodate a family game of Water Polo!

The state-of-the-art kitchen has built-in induction hob, fan oven, warming draw and microwave, complemented by twin, full-size American-style fridges, dishwasher and large larder cupboard. The interior dining room and table is an extension of the Kitchen and therefore forms one of the social hubs of the villa.

The patio runs the length of the villa with access from inside as well via double doors in two of the bedrooms and large, fold-back doors in the lounge. With these doors are opened fully and folded back, the lounge and patio become one big room which forms the second social hub of the Villa! Guests meet here for 'sundowners'!

There is something for everybody here - fashionable Marbella and Puerto Banus, historic, quaint Estepona, many golf courses nearby, skiing just 2 hours in Sierra Nevadas; many activities locally including kite-surfing, Selwo Animal Park, Cable Ski, Tivoli Theme Park. Alternatively, you can just relax by the pool on our comfy, adjustable sun loungers, or stroll down to the beach, have a drink and tapas at 'Pepe's' or walk along the shore to the point and watch the kite surfers. You may be lucky and see dolphins in the bay. Volley Ball takes place on the beach every afternoon during June, July and August and it is a 'free-for-all - anyone can stand on the side lines and all the players, local and tourists, are very friendly and will ask you if you want to join in. Young and old take part and it is a lot of fun - and noisy!

The bus service in the area is regular and reliable and the nearest bus stop is only 2 minutes walk from the Villa. We often take the bus to the markets in San Pedro, Marbella, Puerto Banus or Estepona as it is easier than finding parking sometimes. The massive benefits of the location of the villa is that it is walking distance to most amenities, beach, beach bars, restaurants, shops, minimarket, supermarket, newsagents, etc. Everything you need within easy walking and yet the villa itself is in a small, exclusive collection of villas which is so quiet and peaceful - the best of both worlds - and no need to get in a car at all during your holiday!

About Rebecca Kirkwood

The Villa has been owned by our family for over 40 years and we have had numerous fun and happy holidays there over the years. We have taken friends and family and everyone falls in love with it. The fact that it is right by the sea as well as having a pool means that all the guests can be independent and come and go as they please. We all use the Villa throughout the year and rent it to others so that they can enjoy it too. We completed a full refurbishment in February 2012 so it is now fully modernised with contemporary decor, internet, WiFi, Sky. The fab pool can be heated all year round and has a removable, security fence if you request it. It makes a superb winter destination too as there is an indoor children's play area within walking distance if you want a change from the pool!

Living in N Ireland, my parents wanted to buy somewhere in the sun! The Costa del Sol has over 300 days of sun a year & has lovely beaches so was the obvious place to buy. They bought a large Villa right by the sea which had supermarket, banks, coffee shops, beach bars, restaurants and nightclubs all close by so that car hire was not necessary. They were also attracted by the many & varied golf courses in the area. This Villa has the best of both worlds. It is in a small, exclusive, private, residential area with a large mature garden yet it is walking distance to all the nightlife if you seek it. If you want to venture further, a regular, efficient bus service at the head of the estate will take you to San Pedro & Marbella less than 10 mins to the east & Estepona less than 7 mins to west.

You really have a great house!! We had a fantastic time there. We went to Gibraltar, Ronda and Benahavis. The kids loved the pool and we also tried the beach. We had dinner at Da Mario and the mexican restaurant. Loved them both!!

Many guests have come to the Villa to walk in the hills and mountains and it is a particularly good area for mountain biking.


The beautiful El Saladillo beach is less than a 2 minute walk from the Villa. There are numerous beaches if you walk further along in either direction or a short drive along the coast. However, El Saladillo beach is hard to beat! It is never crowded, soft sand, clear waters. There is volley ball 100 m along the beach which is a 'free-for all' and great fun! There is also kite surfing on the point. There is banana boating, water skiing, jet boating, etc at Funny Beach just short of Marbella - about 10 minute drive.


The villa is equidistant from Malaga and Gibraltar. Malaga is an international airport (45 minutes by car) and there is a good, regular, air-conditioned coach service from Malaga to Marbella. Most of the larger airlines will provide a service there including Easyjet, Ryanair, Jet2, British Airways, Monarch. I will provide details on transfers from airport to villa with your reservation.

Further Details:

The table tennis table will provide hours of entertainment for all ages and there is a charming Park also available to residents and their visitors a short walk from the Villa. This Park offers a play area for younger children, including slide and swings, and free use of the Tennis Court which is also a basketball court. There is a grassed area for football, including half-sized goals. We have had many epic games of football there, adults v children! There are other activities up the beach including beach volleyball (only v short distance and always welcoming to any body who wants to join in), handball, water-skiing, paragliding, kite-surfing, etc. There are also opportunities to go cycling, mountain biking, diving, horse-riding, roller blading, walking. We have had several experiences of kayaking with Dolphins just off El Saladillo beach which was a thrill so you may be lucky and see them too!

There is a very regular and reliable bus service that goes in either direction along the autovia to San Pedro, Marbella, Fuengirola, Malaga to the east, and to Estepona, Algeciras and Gibraltar to the West.

Notes on accommodation: Pluma Piedra is a comfortable, contemporary, spacious and relaxing home with everything to make your stay a happy and memorable one. It is fully air-conditioned and heated and this is included in the tariff. There is a large garden and patio which runs the length of the house and plenty of space inside making it a wonderful home to holiday. A fully child-proof security fence can be erected if required for your young children. Flat-screen TV with SKY and unlimited WIFI throughout the villa and in the garden. The pool is saline (same salinity as your eyes) which means no more dry skin or sore, red eyes from chlorine!! Pool heating will be £250 per week. There are sunloungers for all. Cot and high chair available free of charge. Please bring your own cot sheets. Hairdryers and plug-in mosquito repellent. There is even a wheeled shopping trolley so you can walk to the supermarket, but Supermarket will deliver to your door free. Outside: Outside there is a large patio area, part of which is always in shade. There are comfy chairs here where you can enjoy your evening drinks. There a large barbecue for cooking outdoors and plenty of outdoor seating and sun loungers. Pluma Piedra also has an extra wc and shower outside for swimmers, and very useful if you want to shower off after a day on the beach. The private, saline pool, set in the lovely mature and large garden, is 10 x 5 m with roman steps at one end and a super diving board at the other. There is an option to have child-proof pool security fence. The garden & pool are south facing so there's sun throughout the day and year! Our table tennis table & badminton provide a lot of family entertainment. There are several shaded areas if you want shelter under the avocado tree or banana palm! 2 mins walk away, there is 'Fernandos' mini market and in the other direction, there is a 24 hour garage which sells most things, very useful if you arrive late or forget the wine! Utility Room: The Laundry houses the washing machine and indoor airer and, via a glass door, gives easy access to the back of the Villa and the rotary washing line. There are plenty of cupboards for storage. There is also an ironing board, brushes, mop etc. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bath towels are included but not swimming towels. Pluma Piedra will be spotless for your arrival and will be cleaned once you have left. Mid-stay cleaning is available at extra cost. Other: The kitchen has an area for dining, with a large circular table that will seat 12, overlooking the garden. Double doors open on to the patio and barbeque area. The adjoining veranda has comfy chairs & another table that also seats 12 for outdoor dining.

Fantastic week at Pluma Piedra

Just spent May half term at Pluma Piedra with hubby and three children ages 12, 9 and 7 and had the most fantastic time. Right from the start Becky the owner was extremely helpful and the communication was excellent all the way through.

The villa itself was great. The photos on the site really do not do it justice. It has everything that you could possibly need. The living area is large and spacious and all bedrooms have en suite. The outdoor eating area is lovely and there is even an outdoor toilet and shower room to avoid the kids running through the villa to use the bathroom when wet from the pool. The garden and pool area is beautiful and well maintained. My children had so much fun in the pool and the floats and diving board kept them entertained all week.

The location was fantastic. The gorgeous beach is only a few minutes walk away and there are a few beach restaurants where we ate on a couple of the nights. Very nice.

There are supermarkets about a 10 minute walk away and even closer still is a 24 hr garage which supplies the essentials. Bus stop is right there too which was really handy.

We ate at both the Mexican and Italian near the main road and they were both very good.

If you're after a villa in a lovely location, close to the beach which really feel like home from home then book Pluma Piedra. We will definitely be back.

Your review really gives potential guests a flavour of what it is like there - and you certaily lived life to the full during your visit! You seemed to have visited many of the bars and restaurants close by, used the 24 hour garage, bus stop and supermarkets and your children were entertained all day long in the pool, it seems! Bliss! Perfect holiday villa

Villa Pluma Piedra is the perfect holiday villa with all the excellent facilities just as described. We had a wonderful family holiday with 10 family members ranging from 18 months to nearing 70. The pool and gardens were a big hit with everyone and the fact that we could walk to the beach in less than 5 minutes a real bonus. Everything was within walking distance - supermarkets, convenience shops, restaurants etc. Becky was particularly helpful pre holiday, enhancing the whole experience. Her advice about what was provided really helped us to keep packing to a minimum. We arrived early to leave our bags when the villa was in process of being cleaned. The team were very efficient and it was spotless. I would certainly recommend this villa to any future visitors.

Good spacious villa

We are a group of 10 golfers and this villa suited our needs perfectly, plenty of room in the villa and in a good location within easy walking distance of supermarkets bars restaurants etc. Also within easy reach of some top class golf courses. Becky the owner was a pleasure to deal with, great communication answering any queries within a few hours. So all in all had a great week away.

Great Family Holiday

Our two families spent a very enjoyable week at plumea piedtra at the beginning of June. We couldn't fault the villa. Everything you could possibly need or want is available. We found the beach to be a very nearby stroll but we did spend the majority of the time in the large spacious pool and both our toddlers learnt to swim in the week we were there.

Becky is a charming host and nothing is too much trouble even waking her up early on a Saturday morning to sort out a emergency.

We travelled into both Estepona and Puerto Banus both short bus and taxi rides away. We did find the buses rather frustrating as if they are half full they do not appear to let you on with buggies. Taxi were easy to organise and fairly cheap though.

You have a range of supermarkets nearby but please note none of these are open on a Sunday.

A really important point. When we were in Spain a couple of weeks ago however, there were announcements in the press and over the loudspeakers in the supermarkets, that most supermarkets would now be opening on Sundays from 10 am - 22.00 but during July and August ONLY. I haven't heard any feedback from anyone so am presuming that this is happening ! Please come again - we look forward to welcoming you all back once more. Good luck, Becky

8 adults and 2 young children stayed here for 10 nights. We all absolutely loved the villa, it's very spacious and equipped with everything you need. The garden is huge and beautiful, there's an option to have a security fence put up around the pool which is ideal if you have young ones. The rest of the garden is clean and perfectly safe for little ones to roam around. The location is spot on, everything you need is in walking distance, great beach bars just down the road. Lots of lovely places to go for food nearby. Becky was super with the booking and helping me with anything I needed, very responsive to any message and always happy to help, no problem! We would all love to stay again and would definitely stay here if we visit the area again (fingers crossed we will!) couldn't be happier with the holiday! Thank you Becky :)

Fantastic 😄😄😄😄

I don't normally bother to write reviews but I just had to write about my days at this villa.

The weather was glorious in early March and we ate breakfast and lunch on the patio, had a couple of hours on the sun loungers and a walk along the beach as the sun went down. Fabulous!

We didn't even have to drive to stock up on food and wine as the supermarket was just across the road. At night we'd walk in either direction and eat out at one of the various restaurants nearby. The villa has both a log fire and heating in every room so when it got chilly at night, we were snug inside.

This was probably the most relaxing holiday I've ever had. It had it all. We booked at the last minute and We were so glad we did. I even swam in the superb heated pool which I thought I'd hate, but it was surprisingly good!!

Booking Notes:
Pay in GBP or Euros please. Deposit 20%. Please pay any bank charges incurred. Balance 6 weeks prior to arrival. Fully returnable Security Deposit £250. Payment can be made via bank transfer or cheque direct to me. Payment via Owners Direct's online payment system attracts a 1.4% levy which Owners Direct charge me and which I regret will be passed on to you. To avoid this charge, please pay by debit card. Pool heating £250 per week. Air-con included in the price. Internet/wifi included in price - unlimited. Optional Pool security fence if required - £40. Part weeks and weekend bookings available generally (except July and August) but subject to 20% uplift to cover costs. Prices are for 10 people - there may be an extra charge for over 10 people.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is Saturday during high season. However, I can be flexible during other months. Guests can arrive/depart to fit in with incoming/outgoing guests.

Notes on prices:
This is a fabulous, luxury Villa, in a fabulous location at extremely reasonable prices. The local supermarkets mean you can choose to save pennies and eat in using the villa's modern facilities, or walk to the nearest restaurant of your choice. A perfect venue for a memorable family/friends reunion.
I can organise your holiday at short notice so 'late' bookings are not a problem. Just contact me as normal.

  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
