About the Owner

Peter and Carol are originally from Lancashire, UK. We first came to the beautiful island of Rhodes in the late 90s. From the first day we landed, we immediately fell in love with the island. We returned two or three times a year and every time we returned to the UK we wished we were back on Rhodes. We eventually decided to buy and moved out here permanently. We bought a traditionally built Camara house in the village of Malona. We love the slow pace of life and have made many friends in the village, but most of all we love the abundant summer sunshine and extra mild winters.

“Gorgeous new villa in a nice relaxing part of Rhodes”

From the moment we arrived at the Villa Ranui we felt at home, the Villa was beautifully furnished and finished to a high standard. It was very clean and had everything you would want in a holiday home and more. We especially loved the large Jaquzzi in the garden area and spent many days, nights relaxing in it with a glass of champagne.

With having the owners close by we felt very much at ease and they were extremely helpful and knowledgable about the Island and recommended some nice nearby beaches and restaurants.

We are already looking at returning to the Villa later this year.

HIGHLY RECOMMEDED

“highly recommended”

Very clean and well presented villa set in a traditional, very friendly and welcoming Greece village approx 5 miles from one of the most beautiful sandy beaches of the island. The villa provides all the essentials for a comfortable holiday including high quality towels and linen (great attent

Location

From the Owner

Villa Ranui was completed in October 2011. It's located on the edge of the village of Malona close to where we currently live. The villa is built on an Orange Grove - when the trees are in blossom the sweet fragrance is intoxicating! Malona is famous for its oranges and mandarins and also its olives. The local people are extremely friendly and welcoming. Malona is also a peaceful retreat, yet remains convenient to visit local areas and attractions.

Activity and Interests

Special interest holidays:

Rhodes has plenty to offer visitors of all ages with an array of activities including the largest outdoor water park in Europe, the Valley of the Butterflies, ostrich farm, Epte Piges (where seven springs meet) and peacocks walk freely. You can relax with a Retsina or two within this beautiful woodland - a welcome respite from the sun!) Steeped in history, the island has an abundance of monasteries and ancient monuments dotted all over the landscape. Rhodes is a fantastic location for scuba diving, horse riding, cycling, rambling and is an artists paradise. Guided walks are available most days. You cannot leave the island without a visit to the medieval walled town of Rhodes, where you can lose yourself in its wonder and labyrinth of shops and tavernas. Visit the Palace of the Grand Masters, take a boat trip to Symi or Turkey. Another must is a visit to Lindos with its sugar cubed houses; famous for the Acropolis and its breathtaking views over St Pauls Bay - Do not miss either!

Coast/Beach:

The beatiful sandy beach of Agathi is a 5 min drive from the villa and overlooked by the ruins of Pheroklos Castle. Another 2 mins down the road is the bay of Haraki, which was once a small fishing village but is now a haven of calm. A shingle beach and a cluster of tavernas and small bars, It's unique because you can mix and have a drink with the local greek people. Its well worth a visit in the evening as the Castle itself stands proud over Haraki and is illuminated during the summer months.

Travel:

There are many low cost airlines that operate to Rhodes International Airport. The taxi rank is directly in front of the arrivals lounge. All taxi fares are displayed here for your information. The charge for a trip to Malona will be approximately €55 and the journey takes 40 minutes. All major international car hire companies have desks at the airport, or if you prefer we can recommend a local car hire company who would be happy to 'meet and greet' & show you to the villa.

Distances:

Villa Ranui is approx 40 mins drive from the airport. Rhodes Old Town is approx 45 mins drive and Lindos is 10 mins drive. We are just a 5 min drive to Agathi beach which is family friendly and has the most stunning golden sand and turquoise crystal clear water, beautiful! Haraki Bay is a short distance further along the road where you will be surprised by the beauty and tranquility of the bay and will find 12 tavernas/bars catering for all tastes and price brackets - enjoy!

Further Details:

To explore the diversity of the island, hire a car and drive for the day, through the mountains and numerous traditional villages dotted on the landscape. Pay a visit to Prasonnisi, where the Aegean and Mediterranean seas meet - a surfers paradise, unspoilt landscape and local tavernas (a regular theme of a holiday in Rhodes!) You will never travel too far without coming across a small village shop selling everything from ice-cream, cold drinks, local produce, gifts, wine, which is made on the island the list is endless.
