In Nerja, Costa del Sol - quiet part of Fuentes complex with big pool, A/C, free Wifi/UK TV & garage, beach 200m, Balcon 10 min walk

As with much Andalucían architecture there is a Moroccan style to the grounds of Fuentes, with fountains and passages revealing unexpected glimpses of the sea. Antonio, the caretaker lovingly tends the exotic plants and orange trees around the complex. The pool is surrounded by lawn, where you can sunbathe. If you prefer, you can laze on our private terrace and still see the pool. Ours is one of only 3 apartments, to have triple aspect and there is an extra conservatory/breakfast room beyond the kitchen. The apartment is located well away from the road and restaurant noises and overlooks the sea (dolphins have been spotted, so take your binoculars!). You can walk to every part of Nerja: beaches, the Balcon de Europa, restaurants, tapas bars, cafes, the old town, supermarket, ATM, internet café. No need to worry about parking difficulties, when your car can be in our private lock up garage. Children and adults alike will love a ride on the tourist train or horse drawn carriages.

We have been visiting Spain for many years and were struck by the charm of Nerja.The apartment ticked all our boxes of being very close to Nerja Old town, and beaches, having front line sea views, a garage and being situated in one of the best maintained complexes in Nerja.

We aim to visit Nerja about three times a year and have met a number of repeat visitors, some of whom have stayed longer than we do!

We are always interested in new recommendations from our visitors.

Catherine from the agents Menyber manages the apartment for us. She speaks English and Spanish and knows an army of tradesmen who she can call on in the rare event of a problem.

Apartment and complex in a perfect position for beach and town.

We were pumped up for a great holiday in Nerja and was not disappointed. Beach just a few minutes walk and a nice 10 minute stroll into Nerja town. We loved the friendly and laid back experience and the shops and restaurants didn't disappoint!

Would definitely recommend the apartment.

Las Fuentes is a great complex, the apartment is fantastic, spacious, comfortable and bright. It has a great layout with views of the pool and the sea. Amazing sea views from the breakfast balcony. I would highly recommend this apartment for a stay in Nerja.

Very central and conveniently located

We had a fabulous holiday in Nerja. What a lovely place. Plenty of great

restaurants and shops. Your apartment was very central and just a walk to

all the local amenities. Our time went all too quickly. The apartment was just perfect. There was great space and a luxury to have two bathrooms and a washing machine. It was very well positioned on the ground floor and on the corner of the building. Great views on the coastline, sunshine, we couldn't of asked for anything else 😀

Great apartment better then described

Clean tidy apartment in good location.lovely views over the sea and distant mountains, it in a quiet part of the town,with some very good restaurants just out side of the gate, you can walk to the European balcony in 10 minutes.

The apartment has good access for disabled (i say this as I am disabled) fast internet at no extra charge, electricity free but a pay meter for air condition. The garage is a God send as parking is a nightmare but it is tight for a large car. Swimming pool easy to get to.

I will defernetly look to stay here again. 10 ot of 10

Highly recommend

Family of four with 2 pre school age children. We had a lovely time and the apartment was perfect for us. The setting was better than we could have hoped for as the restaurants, shops and cafes on our doorstep provided us with all we needed. We realised that the Balcon De Europe was just a short walk, and found a few restaurants there that we enjoyed. The Italian just outside the apartment was our favourite. We walked to 2 other beaches just to have a look around the area, but the beach outside the apartment offered us all we needed.

The pool area was a real bonus, very clean and a safe area for the kids to play, with a lifeguard on site. The pool opening hours meant that even though our apartment overlooked the pool, we were not bothered late at night with people in the pool.

The apartment itself provided everything we needed and more. It was clean, comfortable and well furnished. The wifi was an unexpected bonus. Thanks to your cleaner for letting us drop off our bags and use the toilets while she was preparing the apartment.

The agents organised our travel to and from the airport and it could not have been smoother. Very efficient and helpful.

We didn't hire a car so made use of the local buses to visit the area, all very easy to use and not too far to walk from the apartment.

Would happily return to this apartment in the future.

Just lovely

This apartment is wonderful, very secure, clean & Tidy with all you need for a relaxing holiday, everything is a stones throw and yet it remains peaceful & relaxing, lovely bars/resturants a few mins away so many to choose from and all great food/value, Only 1 small negative and that was that the pool closed from 3-5pm which was a bit frustrating for our 4 year old grandson who wanted to go there after the beach , but we worked around the time it was closed... other than that couldnt fault it and would def return, fab holiday , and the owner is very helpful when you book/enquire a definate thumbs up from us all

Location

From the Owner

We chose Nerja as being head and shoulders above other towns along the southern Spanish coast. Its mountain backdrop, rocky coves, narrow streets and low-rise development in the historic centre give it a unique character. Despite being a holiday resort, it still feels predominantly Spanish and even in the low season nearly all bars, shops and restaurants remain open throughout, serving the local community. It is compact enough for any part of the town and its beaches to be reached by walking. In 5-10 minutes you can wander from the flat up to the Balcon de Europa to sip a Spanish coffee whilst watching the varied groups enjoying the sea and mountain views. If more energetic an interesting mostly off road jog is possible along the beaches and below the Roman viaduct to Maro.

Coast/Beach:

There is a variety of beaches/coves within easy walking distance. Torrecilla is on the doorstep. Burriana is the most commercial, with shops and restaurants, where diving, snorkelling, kayaking, jet skiing and wonderful paellas cooked in large pans on the beach are available. Below the town are rocky coves and the Salon beach off the main square. The long Playa el Playazo extends west and is good to walk or jog along, with small eateries en route and kite surfers taking off on windy days.

Travel:

Nerja is about 45 mins by motorway from Malaga airport, which has many car hire firms. We book through www.malagacarhire.com and pay in GBP (cash) at pick-up. Taxi one way is about 70 euros and can be arranged through our agent. Many clients use bus or train from the airport to Malaga and bus from Malaga to Nerja.

Distances:

The picturesque hillside village of Frigilliana is a 15-minute drive, as are the coastal village of Maro & the famous Caves of Nerja. Grenada & the Alhambra are just over 1 hour on spectacular new motorway through the edge of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Skiing in the Sierra Nevada is a further 30 minute drive. Trevelez, the highest village in the Sierras is 1hr 25min. Other major historic towns of Ronda and Cordoba (with its Mesquite) can be reached in less than 2½ hours and Seville 3 hours.

Further Details:

For sports in and around Nerja there is a tennis club (opposite Hotel Nerja Club) and a number of riding stables. The Nerja Donkey sanctuary is a must for children & animal lovers. Water sports and jeep rides can be arranged in the town/Burriana beach (up-to-date details from Tourist Information). The Torre de Mar water park is a 20 min drive.

For provisions, the Eroski hypermarket, just off the motorway at Velez Malaga (we call in on the way from the airport) is about 20 mins drive. Mas supermarket is within easy walking distance from the apartment and has a car park. Mercadonna and Supersol supermarkets are further away within the town but both have car parks. There is a late night general store close by along the Avienda Mediterraneo, just past the Riu Hotel. Immediately outside the apartment complex is a great bakery, a variety of cafes/bars/restaurants, an internet cafe and ATM. There are plenty of banks in the town.

We bought this apartment as it met all the pre-requirements we had set – easy walk to town, beaches and shops/restaurants, front line sea views, good sized swimming pool open all year, well kept secure complex, sunny aspect and a garage - to side step perennial parking problems in town. The apartment is one of only 3 to be situated on the end of Bloc A with a triple east-south-west aspect and an extra conservatory/breakfast room beyond the kitchen. Fuentes de Nerja is immaculately maintained by Antonio, the porteria, who is always so friendly and helpful and ensures that the complex retains its well-deserved reputation for being one of the best in Nerja.
