Tyn-y –Buarth is a fabulous cottage that is clearly loved by Sue (its owner),  with beautiful furnishings and  fittings.

The WiFi is good as are the kitchen facilities. There is a landline too.

The cottage is brimming with beautiful flora and birdlife. The garden was sunny all day.

It’s handy for walking down to the beach which is stunning with views across the bay.

Tyn-y-Buarth has beautiful hills behind it and these are clearly visible from the beach.

Sue made us most welcome on arrival quickly briefing us on the cottage and area which saved us a lot of time.

This is the first holiday in years that I have really enjoyed and feel totally rested.

Cosy cottage providing for all your holiday needs.

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 2 adults and 3 young children thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tyn Y Buarth. The cottage is well located to explore the nearby villages and attractions. The cottage itself has a mix of traditional and modern features providing for all our self-catering needs - a real home from home. It was lovely to meet Sue on our arrival and we greatly appreciated the welcome treats and tips she gave us to get us started on our holiday. There are numerous beaches nearby - we particularly enjoyed a day collecting hermit crabs at Harlech beach and training to be a knight at Harlech Castle. Borth Y Gest beach is also worth a visit! We would also highly recommend a trip to the Centre Of Alternative Technology if you fancy exploring further afield. All in all we would undoubtably recommend Tan Y Buarth to couples and families looking to explore the beautiful Gwynedd coast and Snowdonia National Park.

Great location, lovely cottage

  • 5 of 5

We don't always give 5 stars, but this place is so well placed for visiting different areas of the National Park and it's a very comfortable cottage to stay in. Sue, the owner, was great and showed us around when we arrived and made us very welcome. The log burner was made up although we didn't need it as the sun was glorious! You can see the see from the front windows and the lane outside is quiet with only occasional traffic (we live in a very quiet village so it suited us nicely).

The kitchen was well kitted out and had everything we needed as we cooked a lot. I think the beds were memory foam which I don't get on with but these were very comfy. Lovely private garden which was great to eat out in.

Can highly recommend The Victoria a couple of miles down the road, their steak pie and chilli con carne were very good, also an exceptionally friendly landlord. We had a great lunch at The Plas restaurant in Harlech with brilliant views of Harlech beach.

We're frequent visitors to Snowdonia and this was one of the better cottages. Right on the doorstep for really good beaches (part dog friendly with some areas restricted). Also, it's close to Portmeirion which at this time of year is spectactular with its rhododendrons up in the woodland walk.

We'll be back!

Beautiful home from home

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful home from home. A perfect quaint and cosy escape from city living.

Feel so comfortable here that we have already booked our 3rd stay. - and that was the kids' choice, not our!

Perfect base for Snowdonia and north west Wales and perfect beach close by via a cliff path for our Labrador to play forever!

Excellent cottage

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful cottage, very well equipped. Good location for the North Wales region and within an hours drive of many Cadw castles. Within walking distance to Harlech beach and castle.

Contacted by Sue, the owner, to say we could arrive earlier if we wanted to and was here on arrival to show us around. Very knowledgeable of good places to visit and eat. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

Tyn Y Buarth - lovely comfortable cottage

  • 5 of 5

Our stay in Wales was greeted by a friendly owner who showed us around the quaint cottage, which was clean, tidy and surprisingly spacious. The Wi-Fi was very quick, ideal for teenagers, and the kitchen facilities were well equipped. The location was picturesque and within easy reach to beaches, castles and the rest of Snowdonia National Park. Overall the stay was great for all our family and we would highly recommend staying here.

10-15 minutes steady walk or 5 minutes drive to the nearest beach, with rock pools and safe bathing, Harlech beach has it all. Take a walk down the public footpath to find 4 miles of golden sands, plenty of space to swim, play and picnic, even in the height of the summer. Probably Llanfairs best kept secret. If the tide is out explore the rockpools, walk down to Llandanwg beach, have a break at the cafe, or walk up to Harlech and admire the castle and stunning views over the Llyn Peninsular.

Walking distance of local bus routes for transport into neighbouring towns, and the railway station for a coastal tour of the Llyn peninsular or a trip to other local coastal areas such as Barmouth, Porthmadog and Criccieth.

5 minutes drive to the local villages with a variety of pubs and restaurants.

20 minutes walk 5 minutes by car to Harlech castle, with Mount Snowdon being only an hours drive and well worth the trek or train to the top for the spectacular views.

20 minutes away from picturesque Port Merion village where the 60's 'The Prisoner' was filmed.
