About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (plus additional WC) combines the best of old and new.

This 300 year old Spanish Finca (farm house), has been sensitively modernised, combining luxury with genuine character. Three double bedrooms, large living room, Wifi and TV. Open-plan kitchen diner with additional outdoor dining areas. Set in lovely gardens with own fruit trees and many seating areas. Large private infinity pool (10m x 5m), stunning 180 degree sea views. Generous outdoor space and covered terrace, gas BBQ, full-sized table tennis table. Quietly situated only 7 minutes' drive to the town centre of Moraira and beach. A car would be essential for ease of travel to the town.

Neither words nor photos do justice to the beauty of this villa and its situation. Every room is tastefully furnished and restored and feels like you are travelling back in time but in style and comfort. Each bedroom has privacy and access to bathrooms. The master bathroom has an ensuite bathroom and a second bedroom has a private terrace.

The fully equipped kitchen has direct access to a picturesque private courtyard, a large sunny terrace or a relaxed covered terrace. It has American fridge/freezer with water dispenser, electric double oven, gas hob, double sink, dishwasher, microwave and generous selection of equipment. At one end of the open-plan kitchen is a large indoor dining area - up to 10 people. This has everything you need for fine-dining at home.

Adjacent to the kitchen you will find many cosy sofa areas and a library/office. During the day you feel cool as the old walls keep it cool and in the evenings the mood lighting feels warm and inviting.

There is a wonderful courtyard with many colourful flowers and plants around a trickling fountain. During the day this shady area is cool and tranquil for sitting or dining.

Outside there is a large pool terrace with 10m x 5m infinity pool and many other areas to relax in or explore. The gardens seem endless and would be great fun for children to play hide and seek.

Up the ancient stairs there is a master bedroom with ensuite bathroom. Two second double bedrooms and a second bathroom.

About Mary

Our family bought the Finca over 30 years ago: we fell in love with the building's marvellous character and have devoted ourselves to preserving its unique charm whilst adding all the modern luxury touches that make it such a pleasure to spend time here. Meanwhile, Moraira town has developed over the years into a truly elegant centre: take a paseo along the front, stop for coffee in one of the great harbour-side bars, do some people-watching, check out the yachts in the Marina and you'll see what I mean.

Why Mary chose Moraira

We wanted a very quiet location, away from the hustle and bustle of cramped urbanizations, and we were also determined to have the best possible views of this lovely coast. However, we also appreciate the fact that we can be in Moraira in just a few minutes' drive. We love all the interesting shops and boutiques, the fabulous choice of great places to eat and the child-friendly blue-flag beach.

There's an awful lot to do in the area, if you're feeling energetic, including tennis and golf and wonderful walks in the hills.

And we can be flexible when we're booking our flights, too - it's easy to get to the Finca from either Valencia or Alicante airport.

What makes this farmhouse unique

Space is important to us - and one of the benefits of the Finca is that it's wonderfully spacious, both inside and out. And then there are lots of different entertaining areas where we can all get together for a barbecue, enjoy a table-tennis tournament, take advantage of a quiet nook for some quiet time with a book or a snooze.

I'm a keen gardener and have tried to ensure that the garden looks good all year round, using local plants. I also hope that antique-lovers will appreciate some of the varied art and my very special Spanish pieces, collected over the years and scattered throughout the Finca.

Whenever we arrive and see the wonderful view spreading out before us, it feels like we're entering a very special haven, whether shimmering in the sun or the myriad lights glittering along to coast at night.

Notes on accommodation: Fully furnished covered terrace (summer living room) for relaxing in the shade. The quiet courtyard with a murmuring fountain seats eight for dining al fresco. The larger table seats twelve by the BBQ. There is a "lookout terrace" ideal for pre-dinner drinks while taking in the view and the sunset sky. Indoor dining for ten. The sitting room has sofas and coffee tables and an office area by the TV with wifi and book shelves. Bedrooms have ample hanging and storage shelves for clothes. The beds have orthopaedic mattresses. A child's cot is available on request. The private garden is maintained weekly. Help yourself to the fruit. Sun loungers for 10. Outside shower with hot and cold water. Utility Room: Washing machine / condenser dryer, sink, ironing board, iron, WC and wash basin. There is a clothes line to the rear of the house. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and bed linen are provided and a weekly changeover of linen for stays two weeks or longer. The property is fully cleaned prior to each rental.

Awesome villa!!

We have been holidaying in Moraira for 10 years and have tried various villas all around the resort. As a family group consisting of mixed ages 70+ down to 2 years old this villa has suited our needs better than any other we have stayed in.

The location of this villa was perfect! The height provided unbeatable views but was central to direct routes down the hill in either direction to both ends of the resort providing quick access by car to supermarkets and the town centre when required.

The sheer space around the villa and the beautiful pool were fantastic; room for all of us to spread out and enjoy and for the children to explore.

The villa was extremely well equipped, especially in the kitchen; more pots, pans and utensils than we could ever need. The water dispenser providing constant fresh, cold drinking water was phenomenal, allowing more room in the large fridge and freezer for treats!!!

The barbecue worked brilliantly and enabled us to dine outdoors most evenings.

The available television channels were great for us! Having access to cbeebies for our 2 year old was great! Would be even better if Wi-fi could be improved so it works all around the property rather than just in the lounge/study area. No biggie, just a suggestion.

We have had a fantastic holiday in a character filled villa full of artistic treasures that keep you interested and constantly spotting new pieces! Amazing one off furniture really gives this place a unique feel.

The one level accommodation in the apartment gave us piece of mind with our young daughter too!

We have spent almost a week in these beautiful house and can't wait to come back.It has plenty of space amazing views,a big pool at the perfect temperature , big outdoors space.

The interior of the house is beautiful decorated and has anything you need.

You just don't want to go anywhere!

Moraira has been aptly named The Jewel of the Costa Blanca by many who come here. The two Blue Flag sandy beaches are 5-7 minutes drive by car. Both beaches are patrolled during the summer months and are child - friendly. On the larger Ampolla beach you can swim, surf, paddle, paraglide, jet-ski and much more. The El Portet cove is ideal for both children and adults as the water is shallow and many bars and cafes line the beach wall - from here many paddle boarders discover wonderful natural caves and coves.

Ideas for a day out: Benidorm (35km) theme parks are approx 30mins by car: Terra Mittica (theme park), Aqualandia (water park for all ages), Terra Natura (zoo). Mundomar (zoo and dolphin show). Ondara "La Marina" commercial Park (15km) - great shopping centre for clothes, accessories and many other items.

For touring by car, there's Javea, Oliva and Valencia. To the north, inland, the beautiful Jalon Valley - famous for its wine and almond blossom - and to the south, Benissa and Calpe as well as Benidorm. Or venture further afield to untouched mountain villages.

Closer to home, enjoy the nightlife and resort amenities in Moraira and nearby where you will find an abundance of restaurants offering international cuisines, including Italian, Greek, Indian, Spanish, Belgian, German, Chinese, Japanese and English, plus restaurants specialising in tapas or the wonderful local fresh fish and the famous Local paellas.

There's a fabulous choice of cocktail bars, nightclubs and pubs, too. And when you want a quiet evening at home, the great fast food takeaways include paellas, pizzas, fish and chips or barbecued chicken. You'll find all your favourite groceries in the many modern supermarkets, and Moraira's large weekly market - not to be missed - is on Friday morning. You'll be thrilled at the enormous selection of local fruit, veg and clothes, accessories and many other things you never realised you needed!

There is so much to do in the area - it will be hard to fit it all in.
