Villa Fresno is a luxurious, detached, extremely spacious, four bedroomed, air-conditioned family villa situated between Malaga and Marbella, 15 minutes west of Malaga airport, within easy reach of other areas of the Costa del Sol via the nearby road and rail routes. 5 minutes to local amenities (supermarket, bars, tea shop, restaurants, newsagents, pharmacy, dry cleaners).

The property enjoys views to the mountains of the Sierra Mijas, over farmland to the port of Fuengirola, and across the Mediterranean Sea to Morocco and the Atlas Mountains.

The privately owned villa is located in a tranquil setting, on a private road within the prestigious Reserva del Higueron Country Club. The south facing aspect of the villa ensures day long sunshine across the large pool and sunbathing terraces. The centrally controlled outdoor music system, with MP3 hook-up and garden lighting are perfect for relaxing by the pool or for alfresco dining throughout the daytime and after sunset.

The garden has been carefully designed and encompasses various areas which allow all guests to be able to socialise together, or alternatively, for those who long for their personal space to spend time alone to relax in solitude.

They are split into several areas: an African themed BBQ area with a six burner gas BBQ, providing ample cooking space for the most sumptuous grilled feast, a shaded pergola and a large teak dining table seating eight persons. Adjoining the African garden is the Mediterranean garden which encompasses the swimming pool surrounded by fragrant patio areas with parasols and 8 sun loungers. Steps from the Mediterranean garden lead down to the tranquil Asian garden. There are also patio areas from each bedroom as well as a covered upstairs dinning terrace accessible from the dining room or summer lounge with views to the port of Fuengirola and the distant Atlas mountains of the Northern coast of Africa. The addition of a herb garden provides fresh herbs for cooking, mint for mojitos and Pimms, plus lemons and oranges (when in season).

The 10m x 6m swimming pool, with Roman steps at the shallow end, providing easy access for all age groups, and enough space for all guests to enjoy a refreshing dip or, for the more energetic, to complete a few laps. There is ample space around the pool to accommodate the eight sun loungers for those keen to absorb some of the Mediterranean sunshine. In the evening the ambience within the garden is enhanced by the illuminated pool along with the soft garden lighting.

Numerous dining options are offered to guests, depending whether you prefer to dine on the upper dining terrace, at the pergola covered barbecue area, or even inside in the formal dining room.

The fully fitted kitchen is equipped with all modern conveniences; fan assisted oven, built in microwave oven, vitro ceramic hob, American style fridge freezer with fully plumbed ice and water dispenser, dishwasher, toaster and Tassimo coffee maker. Additionally food processor, blender, popcorn maker, bread maker, as well as ample cutlery, crockery and glassware are also provided.

The four large air-conditioned bedrooms are apportioned as follows:

Super king bedroom with en-suite bathroom, dressing room, 42" flat screen TV and doors to the garden and pool.

King bedroom with flat screen TV, and doors to garden and pool (sharing family bathroom).

Twin bedded room with flat screen TV and doors to garden and pool (sharing family bathroom).

Twin bedded room with en-suite bathroom, flat screen TV, Playstation 4, Wii games console, DVD player, CD player and door to garden.

The lounge comfortably seats eight adults on three leather sofas, has a 50" flat screen TV with international channels, a sound bar and DVD player with a selection of DVDs.

The fitness area is equipped with a stack weight system, chrome and rubber hex dumbbells, a heavy punch bag and an exercise bike.

Laundry facilities include a washing machine, sink unit, external rotary washing line, Iron and ironing board.

The villa also benefits from private gated parking, CCTV, 24hr security patrols and free transportation to the nearby supermarket, Hilton hotel and Nagomi Spa, 1* Michellin Sollo Restuarant located next to the hotel, local restaurants, train station and local beach. From the local train station there is easy access to Malaga city, Malaga Airport, Fuengirola and other local towns.

For your convenience we also supply a complimentary food welcome pack, travel size toiletries, tissues, cotton wool balls and cotton buds.

About the Owner

We (Amanda & Steve) moved to the Costa del Sol in 1999 and had the villa constructed to our specifications in 2000, when the majority of the area which is now Reserva del Higueron was little more than bare hillside. We lived in the villa full time until 2009, at which time work and family commitments meant that it was not possible to continue to use the villa as our permanent residence. We still make regular visits to the villa and it is always a difficult decision for us to shut the door and walk away.

Thank you for sharing your home with us, your Villa is a fantastic home and we had the perfect time there, the amenities at the Villa coupled with the fantastic weather we had led to us all having the perfect holiday, travelling with 3 children and a grandparent it was so reassuring that we felt so safe, the area was private and beautiful and exactly what we wanted with the views from your garden spectacular, no-one wanted to go home and we wouldn't hesitate in coming back if it was available for future holidays, we would recommend your Villa to all our friends and family.

I don't mean to go on but we just all had such a magical time it really felt like home.

Great Holiday

We spend wonderfull holiday at the Villa (8 people together) and our kids share this opinion :-). It is very spacious, very well equipped and allowing comfortable stay with feeling as if we were at home. The swiming pool is big enough and assures safety for even non swimmers / kids. The location is perfect in terms of views, easy access to the beach (by car or shuttle bus), shops, pharmacy and restaurants. It is also close to the highway and within 2 hours you can reach the attractions in Sevilla, Granada, Gibraltar and Atlantic ocean cost. The airport in Malaga is just 20 min drive. We'd come back in future with pleasure and without hesitation. Beata& Sebastian with kids and friend family.

Absolutely stunning

This villa was everything we hoped for and more! Its stunning view as well as it's location on a quiet and safe neighborhood, at a walking distance from a lovely beach, made it a perfect fit for the whole family. The property is very well-maintained and very fonctionnal; the bedrooms, all located on the ground level, are properly fusnished, totally comfortable, and have large glass doors for a nice view of the pool. The various outdoor dining spaces and the outdoor livingroom were great features. As for the surrondings; all the villages were interesting to explore (Malaga, Marbella, Benalmadena, Puerto Banus) and with a car, historical cities like Seville, Grenada, Cordoba and Gibraltar are within a reasonable distance of the villa. Lastly, the manager and the owner remained absolutely available for any questions during our stay. Gilles, Veronique and family, from Quebec, Canada.

Fabulous Villa - A Home from Home

Had an amazing stay at Villa Fresno. Jose met us on arrival at the villa and explained everything to us. The villa is so well equipped with everything you could ask for. Fabulous rooms and lovely dining areas inside and out. The swimming pool and garden areas are beautiful as well. The reserve is quite hilly but there is a train that runs through the reserve to take you to the supermarket, bars and the beach. There is a bus service at the top of the reserve which takes you to different places. Mijas is a must to visit, lovely little village at the top with lots of shops, bars and restaurants. Taxis are readily available as well to take to you to Fuengirola where there are lots of restaurants. Will definitely use this villa again when visiting the area. Excellent Villa

Following on from other reviews and comments on this site the Villa was fantastic and we had a wonderful two weeks there. We can give it no greater praise than to say it is the ONLY villa we have stayed at that we would want to return to! But its not just about the villa when you are taking a family holiday - it is the customer service of the villa owner which is just as important. In this regard Amanda was absolutely fantastic from the start of the process right the way through to the time at the villa. Quick to respond and always going out of her way to be as helpful as possible. Simply brilliant customer service - highly recommend. We are sad that we only found her villa after 5 holidays to Benalmadena and so we are having a year off from the area but will be back in 2018 and Amanda will be my first stop to check availability. Thank you for letting us use your villa. Location was great and the little train up and down the resort was very useful and always on time. In addition the villa and the area (Reserva del Higueron) is very secure and maintained to a high standard.

Beautiful villa exceeding our expectations

We are a family of three and have just spent a wonderful 2 weeks at Amanda and Steve's beautiful villa which is a short (20 minute) taxi ride from Malaga Airport. We also stayed there in 2014 and have just re-booked for 2016. The villa has everything you could wish for including an amazing pool, Satellite TV in the lounge and bedrooms ( a real favourite for our 5 year old!), a gym and a very well equipped kitchen, dining areas and BBQ if you wished to home cook, albeit we just ate out. The location of the villa and its close proximity to the nearby Hilton Hotel meant that it was very easy to stroll down to the hotel each night to take a taxi into Benalmadena Pueblo or Costa for dinner at one of the many restaurants that are available. There is also a free 'all day bus' that can take you to the beach (and supermarket etc) if you wished, but the pool and gardens at the villa were so wonderful it meant that we only took the bus once. Amanda and Steve provided a great service prior to our arrival and responded very quickly to any queries that we had when we were there. The villa is immaculately maintained by a professional (English speaking) management team and there is a linen and towel change after 1 week. We cannot recommend this villa highly enough and are counting the days down to our third visit in 2016. Thanks again Mark, Anne-Frances and Garrett Reid

This property is located on Reserva del Higueron Country Club, which is a renowned and sought after location close to the quaint, white washed village of Benalmadena, on the Costa del Sol.

The nearest beach to the villa is Carvajal which is aprox. 1500 metres/ five minute drive away to which there is complimentary transport provided. The beach is clean and tidy. Sun chairs and parasols available for daily hire. There are plenty of 'chiringuitos' which serve fresh fish, paella, sangria and 'vino tinto verano' which is a must have!


The villa is situated between Malaga and Marbella, 15 minutes west of Malaga airport. Car hire is recommended but not necessary. There is an excellent train service between Fuengirola and Malaga, with air conditioned trains running every half hour. The nearest station to the villa is Carvajal which is aproxiamately 15 - 20 minute walk (complimentary local transport to station). Gibraltar is around 1-1.5 hour drive on the highway/ toll road.


Less than 5 minutes walk/ 300 metres to the Reserva del Higuerons own bar and restaurant and Hilton hotel, 5 minutes/ 700 metres to local bars, restaurants and supermarket Carrefour with complimentary transport available. The Indian restaurant 'Nirvana' is highly recommended as well as the Pizzeria 'El Parador' in the village of Benlmadena. 10-15 minutes drive to Benalmadena Marina. 10-15 drive to the pretty typical Andalusian village of Mijas Pueblo with its breathtaking views along the coast.

At the heart of Benalmádena is the old white Andalusian village of Benalmadena Pueblo with its narrow streets. The Plaza de España is at the heart of the Pueblo and has cafés, restaurants, craft and souvenir shops and the fountain of the young girl, the symbol of Benalmadena. Traditional Spain! Some of the older villagers sit on a bench in the shade of the orange trees or at their front doors and just chat away to each other.

For the children there is Tivoli World in Arroyo de la Miel as well as Aqualand in Torremolinos which is the biggest water park on the Costa del Sol. and a For the adults there is the World famous Benalmadena Marina which has won worldwide acclaim for its architecture. If you feel like going further along the coast you can rub shoulders with the rich and famous at Puerto Banus!

For those who like to shop there is the excellent Corte Ingles at Malaga, Mijas Costa and Puerto Banus which sells designer as well as local names at surprising prices especially during the sales. Within this beautiful department store is the Hipercor supermarket.

A returnable security deposit of £500 is required to be paid with the balance which is due 8 weeks prior to arrival. Security deposit is refundable within 28 days of the departure date, after a thorough check of the property has been conducted by the management team.

Guests are requested to leave the property clean, not cleaned. All rubbish should be removed prior to departure.

Prices are all inclusive for the property per week.
