House in Mons La Trivalle village near Lamalou-les Bains, Beziers, Languedoc Roussillon, France - Village Location With Superb Local Amenities, 60km From Mediterranean Beaches

Situated on the edge of a typical Languedoc village, La Paisible is a detached quiet and secluded house with its own pool and garden. Being at the end of a quiet village road there is almost no traffic. A slow stroll away is the local bakery and adjoining pub. the village has a general store 2 restaurants and visiting markets. 1km away is the foot of the Gorges d'Heric and many wonderful walks and even abseiling if you wish. There is canoeing, kayaking and canyoning nearby. There are many restaurants within a few minutes drive ranging from simple relaxed eateries to haute cuisine. There is an excellent golf course, horse riding and caving nearby. Historic towns such as Olargues, Pezenas, Beziers, Montpelier, St. Guilheme de Desert, Carcassone, Nimes, Narbonnes and Perpignan are all within easy driving distance.

About Paul Johnson

I am a Gloucestershire GP and perhaps unsurprisingly my partner Pamela is a community nurse. We purchased our house in France 14 years ago and a Ski apartment in Bansko Bulgaria 7 years ago with our good friends Richard - who is also a doctor and Louise who is also a nurse (!) and their family. We have had many happy times with them as have our many guests over the last 13 years. We have 8 year old daughter Poppy and Richard and Louise have 2 boys Christian 14 and William 12.

Poppy loves the house in France and is already on the blue runs in Bulgaria. We welcome dogs to our house in France - for a small extra fee (to cover extra cleaning costs). Our choccie lab Alfie has been to La Paisible and loved it

Why Paul Johnson chose Bedarieux area

We bought in Languedoc because we felt it was a more genuinely French and unspoilt area than Provence (and cheaper!). We have easy access to fabulous walking, many great restaurants, the wines of the Languedoc area and the Mediterranean beaches. The house is very quiet and private. The village has all the amenities you need for your holiday with a village shop and pub and 2 restaurants. the bakery is especially French and sells great breakfast fayre 6 -7 days a week depending on the season.

What makes this house unique

You can wake up in complete quiet.

Walk down the quiet lane to pick up your fresh croissants etc for breakfast.

Pick up milk etc from the local shop.

Laze around the pool all day or go walking up the awesome Gorge d'Heric. You can lunch and siesta on the patio, there is shade from the retractable awning. Taste some wine at the local cellar before your own meat/fish on the barbeque.

Alternatively you can visit one of the many local restaurants.

Alternatively a short drive to the beach beckons or to Lac du Salagou.

Six go to the Haut Languedoc National Park.

We (six adults) had all that was required for a peaceful stay, it was November after all. The pool being unavailable was perhaps a good thing for the time of year.

The house was roomy and spacious enough for all without being in each others pockets. The equipment provided was adequate for six adults. We made good use of the BBQ whilst we were there.

Peace and tranquility

The listing was more than accurate and the house was far better than the pictures or details show. We had our dogs with us and they had a great time, there is a cycle path that leads from the village and goes for miles so this was a great place to walk with them traffic free and the Auberge was at the end of the walk which was a bonus, there are many places to visit and we went out each morning and returned at lunch to have lazy afternoons under the lovely mature trees in the garden and dipping in and out of the lovely pool well tended by Eric the gardener. The property was well cleaned when we arrived and had very adequate furnishings and garden furnishing also, the barbeque was used each day by us for dinner and we all enjoyed that whilst having various bottles of wine to test from the local vineyard. The boulangerie was great for our daily bread and only a few minutes away in the village. With having the dogs we didn't tend to eat out much and found the local supermarkets great for shopping and trying out new foods , all in all it was a very relaxing place to go and everyone felt very relaxed and de stressed and enjoyed the stay very much.

A 30% non returnable deposit secures the booking. When money is received the booking is 100% confirmed. Full payment ( and a further £75 key and breakages deposit) required 8 weeks prior to arrival. We will post you a key and details of how to reach the house two weeks before your holiday.
Refunds for cancellation are not available 8 weeks prior to your arrival (Travel insurance strongly advised).

Changeover Day:
Saturday is the usual changeover day. At busy times this is almost always the case. If possible we can try to be flexible. This is more likely to be possible in the off peak season.

Notes:
All bedrooms are double bedrooms and have ample cupboard space. Outside: private garden/pool The beautiful patio area has a brick BBQ which you are welcome to use. There are steps down to the pool which has an alarm but of course we require you to supervise your young children. The garden is tended by a local French gardener and he also maintains the pool. There is about 1/3 acre of garden & the pool is 7.5m x 4m. It is the approximately 5ft depth throughout. the patio garden and pool area is private and secluded by trees and hedges in the garden. The pool is not heated but has a cove which if used each night keeps the warmth of the pool (Pool unavailable 30 September to 15th May). We have 6 sunbeds with comfortable cushions. there is also a garden hammock-chair which is a very pleasant place to relax! Utility Room: Large double garage adjoins kitchen with washing machine fridge freezer and contains sunbeds and some toys for pool and beach. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Supplied at extra cost , payable locally. Available on arrival only (not thereafter) Linen: Per Double bed used = 12.5 Euros. Per single bed used = 8.5 Euros. Hand Towels - 3 Euros - Swimming towels 7.5 Euros Other: Very light conservatory area with double sofabed. lovely area to sit if it is raining or in the evening to read etc.
