Very spacious and stylishly furnished, ideal for large families, groups or couples. This luxury villa has the following extras: satellite TV, Wi-Fi, wii, alarm system, emergency phone line to owners and police/hospital. Wheel chair access available, mod-cons, cot, and high chair, one main safe. A large heated (esp.winter months) swimming pool (18x8). Outside shower and bathoom areas, hot tub, jacuzzi, outside eating area (barbecue). Located near to the picturesque old town of Puerto del Carmen. Centrally located and easy access to all local facilities golf, parks, marina, etc. Changeover day. Our changeover day is Thursday, however, there is some flexibility.

Drier area. The perfect villa for a great family holiday.

We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Mare, there was plenty of space for us to all do our own thing and it was lovely and private. There was always help on hand from the hotel staff if we needed it and we would definitely go back again.

Beautiful villa with maintenance issues

The villa is in a superb location with excellent accommodation for our family party of 10. Our stay was however marred by what are obviously ongoing maintenance problems since they've been commented upon by previous guests . On the first 3 mornings we had no hot water and water was pouring from the tank onto the roof. Catalina arranged for maintenance to attend but they also indicated to us that it often occurred.

The pool was not heated and we were told a part was being obtained and would be there in a couple of days. This did not appear and the pool water circulation was not operating, hence I raised the health issue with Catalina. The pool attendant tried to get the system operating and he managed to get it working and some heat 1 day before our departure.

There are a number of smaller issues that require attention and all can be rectified to bring this villa back to its luxury standard for which it is being marketed. I have sent my detailed comments to Catalina but have received no response. This is again an indication of the lack of attention being given to this villa by the owner. It is such a shame as the villa should be stunning and can again be so with a little care and attention.

Beautiful Villa but unfortunately has maintenance issues

The villa is in a spectacular and convenient location with superb facilities. We had no hot water on the first 3 mornings with water escaping from the tank onto the roof. This was rectified each time when reported but it is apparent from previous guests comments that it is an ongoing issue. The pool was not heated for 5 days due to an apparent difficulty in getting the part required. Eventually some heat was achieved apparently without the part but it was too late into our 7 night stay for it to warm up. There were several other minor electrical problems during our stay. Whilst the above did not spoil our holiday I consider that to market the villa as being luxury requires all services to be in full and continual working order. Maybe the owners should take a critical look at the villa in order to bring the standard of the building and the equipment back to the required level.

Excellent villa in a good location

We had a great time at VillaMare, which is a large villa with great outdoor spaces. We made full use of the large pool, and also enjoyed several games of table tennis and pool. The tennis court is an added bonus. The villa was very clean (the cleaners and the daily maintenance man were very good), and we had the fortune to be looked after before/during our stay by Catalina. Catalina was extremely helpful and we are very grateful to her for making our stay so wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble. The location is good, being only a couple of minutes from local supermarkets, bars and restaurants (we went daily to the Purple Turtle). The harbour is about a 5 minute walk down the hill (past the Purple Turtle and the Dino Supermarket). The beach is about a 10 min walk and well worth a walk along the promenade. We would definitely recommend this villa to those wanting a great place to stay - my mum thought she was a film star with the luxury setting!

Great outdoor space, terrible villa

We found the villa after walking past it last year, after searching for it online we thought it looked amazing, we have been hugely disappointed! Firstly the good bits... The outdoor space is brilliant, the pool and canopy are fantastic, there is a big table for dinners and a lovely seating area. The patio off the dining room has the most fantastic breeze in the morning. The rooms are large and easy accommodated 10 of us without getting in everyone's way. We have a 7 month old and the range of travel cots and baby accessories is brilliant. Unfortunately the list of negatives is slightly larger... Firstly our biggest issue is the lack of air conditioning (or even fans), considering this is classed as a luxury villa, the only rooms to have a AC is the detached suite and the gym (which is full of equipment that is outdated or doesn't work!). The kitchen is of a decent size but not well enough equipped to cater for 10 people, the bedrooms are roomy but dated, with all fixtures and fittings showing their age. The sport equipment all have faults, the pool table wasn't working and needs replacing, there were no usable balls for the tennis court or the Ping pong table, the pool cleaner showed up once during our week stay! We had a rep from the management company show up on the Monday after arriving on Friday and many calls trying to reach someone about all our issues. The guy walked round listening to our gripes, promised to return with fans and replacement balls, we never heard from him again and ended up buying fans in one of the shops in the town. For the price of the villa we expected a lot more. Definitely not luxury and I would not recommend this villa

Amazing Villa !!

I had an amazing holiday at Villa Mare with my family Aug/Sept 2013

The villa itself was well maintained, very clean and beautifully presented.

The external grounds, tennis court and pool area were also well kept and hosted magnificent sea views.

The location was great – within walking distance to a supermarket/small shopping complex, the harbour and old town where there is many restaurants.

Catalina was also extremely welcoming and helpful.

The airport is Arrecife (ACE) and it is approx a 10 minute drive to Los Mojones. If you are not hiring a car, taxi's are readily available outside of the airport and this will cost approx 25 euros.

Distances:

The beaches of Puerto del Carmen are a 10 minute walk or 2 minute drive. The superb local restaurants and amenities of the Old Town are also only a 10 minute walk.
