We are an English couple who live on the property. Clint ran his own design and build property business in the UK for over 30 years and used his skills to sympathetically renovate the complex to a very high standard. Gail has a luxury hotel background of over 25 years. We both speak French and are happy to offer assistance and information on the local area so that you are able to make the most of your holiday in Brittany.
Clint & Gail purchased this house in 2007
We purchased a holiday home in 2003 and loved the area so much we decided to stay permanently. We found this renovation project which we commenced in 2008 and have taken our time to completely modernise the interiors whilst retaining the original character and charm of each property. We hope we have thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
A peaceful and tranquil setting in a rural location but well situated for an easy drive to beaches and places of interest.
Booking available by email or telephone. Deposit of 25% required by bank transfer to confirm. Balance is payable 8 weeks prior. For bookings made within a month of your holiday full payment is required. Cash security deposit of £100 or 100 euros applicable on arrival. All cottages are non smoking and, unfortunately, we are unable to accept pets. DISCOUNTED RATES available for long stays. CHANGEOVER is normally Saturday but we are often able to be more FLEXIBLE, offering alternative changeover days and varying lengths of stay. Access time is normally from 3.00pm and departure time is 10.00am but, again, we try to be flexible where possible.
The best place we've stayed. Fantastic accommodation and facilities. Very welcoming and helpful owners. Lovely relaxing surroundings would recommend this.
This was the third year in a row that we have been to Les Pelerins to stay with Gail and Clint to start our holiday, as it is the best place we have stayed in France. The cottage is really well equipped, spotless on arrival and has been furnished so that everything matches, rather than the "rustic/eclectic" mix of furniture that is the norm. Our daughter loves the pool and the BBQ area means the "grown-ups" can be social, while keeping an eye on the kids. The pizza-baking evening was great fun this year too! Gail and Clint have loads of local knowledge and recommendations for places to visit, whatever your interests. However, they remain unobtrusive if you would rather not seek their advice. This is a great place to stay if you want to quiet of the countryside but be within striking distance of the beaches, cities and heritage that the area has to offer. Fantastic!
Clint and Gail are lovely hosts and extremely helpful and kind. They live on site which is handy. They offer the usage of bikes and also a pool outside, which is kept tidy and is well looked after. Les Pelerins consists of 5 houses which are beautifully designed and built by the couple and lots of thought and care has gone into this, very noticeable. My parents stayed with us for the day, and they were equally impressed. All accommodations are spacious, clean, tastefully decorated and equipped with all comforts!
The surroundings are just so peaceful and beautiful, you can cycle for miles and not see anyone apart from gorgeous villages and churches. Plouay and Bubry are the nearest local towns with everything that you will need. A definite 5 star stay and would consider coming back!!
The property is a 2-bedroom unit, which is one of a small number of units to be developed in recent years from old stone buildings on a rural property in Central Brittany. It was immaculately presented - spotlessly clean and with all the necessary household items provided and very functional. The property is very quiet but is only 5-10 minutes drive from three small towns, with supermarkets and other facilities available. Gail and Clint live on sight and were very warm and friendly, and helpful with the small queries we had.
We have visited Les Pelrins in August 2014 and 2015. Clint and Gail have always been very welcoming and informative about the area, recommending towns to visit, activities and restaurants. In 2014 Clint even helped us when our car needed a tyre repair. The gites are beautifully decorated, fully equipped and very clean. Our 3 children love the pool, which is regularly cleaned by Clint and Gail. In 2015 we really enjoyed making our pizzas with all the other guests, which were cooked in the Pizza Oven. We would highly recommend these Holiday Cottages, and hope to return a third time.
We stayed for 7 nights at Les Pelerin's and were so impressed from the moment we arrived. We were shown around by Gail on arrival and I can assure you that the Gites have been renovated to such a high standard, but with all the character of the original buildings intact. All the modern conveniences that I wanted to see, but with so much taste and charm.
Furniture for sitting outside in the peace and quiet, with the benefit of a terrace both at the front and rear of the property, so whether it was morning for breakfast or evening with a glass of wine and dinner, you could appreciate the professional layout and high standard of this charming complex.
When returning from a day out, the pool beckoned. Local beaches were either 35-45 minutes away, with beautiful sandy beaches and stunning scenery. Local inlets along the coastline, hidden away, but with lovely eateries, full of the locals, and you can't get more of a good reference than that.
We ate at the Gite in the evening because the facilities where a home from home in terms of all of the amenities you needed. On a couple of occasions we bar be qued. (there were 2 areas for this, so no queuing)
In terms of the actual Gite, the beds were soo comfortable, the rooms light and airy, but really dark at night and cool to sleep in and the extremely peaceful surrounding area meant that you heard the odd car or tractor every now and again. The shower was lovely and hot whenever you needed it and contemporary in style, beautiful.
We went out on bicycles and for a walk around the local area, and it was 'spot the car' like England used to be.
This complex is ideal for either couples, families, teenagers, the area has something for everyone. Concarneau is really worth a visit, as are the beaches at Port Louis, Guidel and the inlet at Douelan, almost like being in Cornwall, but with sunshine.
As for the Hosts, Gail and Clint, were on hand if you needed them. Their attention to detail is outstanding, they are friendly, helpful, accommodating, knowledgeable about the area and places to visit and we would revisit without hesitation.
We had with out doubt one of the most relaxing breaks we have experienced.
