Excellent Location, Moments Walk To Town Centre, Lake And Ski Lifts

This modern, contemporary apartment is one of 7 in the building and has been completed to a very high standard. It is beautifully furnished and is in a prime location in a quiet side street near the centre of Zell am See close to shops, bars, restaurants and the ski lift. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and the apartment is fully equipped for groups as well as families with young children. Free wifi is included. A basement locker is available to store ski and sports equipment. The allocated parking space is in the basement.

This rewiew is based on two opinions:

Family apartment ; for a family looking forward to discover Zell am See and surroundings, it will be enjoyable to stay here. It is a very practical and functional place to stay. The modern kitchen makes it very easy to prepare wonderful dishes. All the amenities as indicated on the website are there and is working 100%. Easily an apartment that you can rent for 5-7 days.

Wheelchair accessible : Unfortunatly not, the option must be removed from the menu. Although there are no steps into the apartment the bedroom and bathroom are small or not accessible enough for a paraplegic or quadriplegic. The doorways are wide enough. The bathrooms are not accessible, not even for a paraplegic.Unfortunately my recommendation for this apartment is wheelchair inaccessible.

Lovely clean, well equipped apartment.

Lovely apartment with everything you could need provided including DVDs, books and toys if you have children. Spacious and really good showers!! Very useful to have an underground parking space. Close to the city express lift, and the bus station for all other ski buses. Also very close to the town shops and restaurants. Lots of things to do apart from skiing around the area. Would definately stay here again.

A very comfortable, homely and fully equipped apartment with every need catered for, particularly in the kitchen! It was good to already have oil, herbs, salt & pepper etc already in the cupboards instead of having to buy absolutely everything as we usually do. Beds were very comfortable and the apartment was very clean. We have stayed in many apartments in ZAS over the past few years and this rates as one of the best!! Definite recommendation!!!

Magical holiday!

We were a family of 6 adults to celebrate a special birthday! The property was every bit as good as the description on Owners Direct. It was perfectly suited for our needs - spacious, comfortable and very well maintained. We were contacted before and during our stay to either confirm arrangements or to check we were comfortably settled. I would definitely recommend this property to friends and we fully intend to go back there ourselves. We found it very convenient for the ski lifts, ski equipment hire, supermarkets, shops etc. We were particularly fond of the Crazy Daisy for apres ski! Also the Hotel Feinschmeck is a favourite venue for an evening meal.

We will be back

What a great location for a ski apartment! Very central, walking distance to all the shops and bars and cafes. Ski lift is close by, rent from Intersport at City Express and you can leave your skis at the shop at the end of each day, very handy so you don't need to carry them back to the apartment. Made good use of the board games and selection of DVDs in the apartment. Owners responded quickly to all our queries. We will be back.

Location

We decided to buy an apartment in Zell am See due to it's beautiful lakeside location and convenient ski area, which meant we could enjoy it both in the summer and winter. Due to it's proximity to the glacier at Kaprun, it also means that snow is almost guaranteed for a long ski season. With 2 young children we love how convenient the apartment is for both the ski lifts and the pretty town centre. The leisure centre with swimming pool and ice skating rink is a stone’s throw away, the lake is close by for summer swimming and activities. We have found the people are warm and friendly, food is wonderful and there is plenty to do in the town - we are really impressed with the weekly festivals in the town square throughout the main summer and winter weeks. Getting to the apartment is very easy by taxi or via the excellent public transport links.

Almost year-round skiing and snowboarding on the nearby glacier at Kaprun. Fantastic mountain and road biking routes, with Zell am See hosting an annual 70.3 Ironman triathlon. Numerous activities on the lake such as boating, swimming, stand up paddle-boarding, kayaking and fishing.

Travel:

Salzburg Airport is 1hr 15 mins drive away by car (80km), car hire is available at the airport at very reasonable rates or you can take a taxi. A car is not necessary as public transport is quick and efficient. Innsbruck Airport is 1hr 30mins drive away, Munich Airport is 2hr 30 mins drive away. Alternative airports are Klagenfurt and Linz.

Distances:

Walking distances - 3 mins to City Xpress lift, 3 mins to bus stop for Kaprun/glacier, indoor swimming pool and ice skating rink is across the street, 2 mins to pedestrianised town centre with shops/restaurants/amenities, 5 mins to the lake and wonderful children's play park, 7 mins to the train station.

Further Details:

Zell am See is a traditional Austrian resort with a variety of bars, restaurants and clubs, from lively apres-ski bars and nightclubs to traditional European dining and friendly cafes. There are supermarkets, shops, banks, chemist, doctor, post office, tourist information, hospital and church all within walking distance to the apartment. There are many activities that can be enjoyed on the beautiful Lake Zell.

Other local activities include bike hire, toboggan run, water rafting, ice skating, horse-riding, canyoning, rock climbing, tennis and squash.

The wonderful nearby Tauern Spa has several indoor and outdoor pools with beautiful views of the mountains, massage and treatment rooms, sauna, steam, children's pool and slides.

Take a day trip to the beautiful city of Salzburg where you can visit the castles, zoo and Mozart’s birthplace.

The Swarovski crystal factory is near Innsbruck.

There are many attractions a short drive away for sight seeing such as the Krimml waterfalls, Grossglockner glacier, museums, gorges, wildlife parks and children's adventure parks.

There is free wifi access and all the amenities you may need, whether you intend to stay in and cook or stroll across to one of the many eateries close by.
