About Michael and Debbie Thomas

We purchased the Anchorage in June 2009 and had great fun renovating the property into a beautiful holiday home. The Anchorage is a hidden treasure, a hop skip and a jump to the beach and with unrivalled sea views. A peaceful spot, yet only 5 miles from the hustle and bustle of Great Yarmouth.

Four generations of our family have been visiting this idyllic spot over the last 60 years. We have three young children and to see them play out the front, above the sand dunes, with the waves in the background reminds us of our wonderful childhood holidays in Scratby, which we looked forward to all year.

There is something really special about this place. We always feel relaxed here especially after a stressful time at work! The family dog loves to run on the unrestricted beach too!

Michael and Debbie Thomas purchased this bungalow in 2004

Why Michael and Debbie Thomas chose Scratby

This property was bought to be a second home, with the idea of living there in retirement.

We have spent our holidays in this village for over 50 years.

Enjoying the beatiful beaches and warm dry summers that Norfolk is famous for.

What makes this bungalow unique

A stone's throw from the sandy beach and sea, ideal for walking dogs and for children to play.

A good base for all the amenities, Yarmouth, Norwich and the Broads can offer for a family fun filled holiday.

We personally walk our dog on the beach, my children and grandchildren have grown up knowing this village as their second home.

They play safely in front of the bungalow, love to explore the sand dunes and collect sea life from the pools formed when the tide goes out.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Our friends and family have been visiting our second home for years. Everyone thoroughly enjoys themselves and cannot believe the close proximity to the beach, sea. Great for families of all ages.

Stunning location

  • 5 of 5

Lovely 3 bed bungalow only a few short steps to a gorgeous sandy beach. This place is perfect if you have small kids and are looking for somewhere quiet to stay. The town and beach is quiet, busier places are a short drive away if that's what you're after. The house is clean and has everything you need, the kitchen is well equipped. There is also an enclosed garden, perfect if you have little ones. We loved our stay here and will definitely be back. Thank you to the owners too for all the info they gave

Comfortable accommodation in a great location

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I took our daughter, 2 year old granddaughter and 11 year old Jack Russell to this bungalow. It was just about everything we had hoped for. The location with ease of access to the beach is excellent. Nearby Great Yarmouth and Hemsby provided us with good supplies and fun. The only downside of the week was that the dishwasher had packed up soon before our arrival and the new one could not be delivered until the day of our departure. Well equipped throughout and very safe and suitable for the dog and young child. We will be booking again next year.

We had a really nice stay in the bungalow its in a great position on the cliffs with views over the sea and also close to the beach.

there was four adults and a dog in our party but plenty of room and a very nice secure garden at the back.

The owners were very helpful and i would recommend it to my friends.
