Chestnut Mews is a modern 3 storey townhouse, situated in a private road, a stone's throw from the famous Swanage steam railway and walking distance from the safe, award winning beaches and local amenities. Ideally suited to families and friends looking for a traditional seaside holiday, with excellent facilities to keep everyone entertained. There's Punch and Judy on the beach, Purbeck ice cream and traditional pubs serving real ale and home cooked food. For the more energetic, there are plenty of bridleways and footpaths, ideal for walking or cycling and exploring the stunning Purbeck hills and Jurassic coats line.

Having first visited Swanage as a couple, Ian and I fell in love with the place, so much so, that once we'd had our children, we felt it was the perfect place to buy a holiday home, to enjoy as a family...far enough away to feel like we've been away, but close enough to escape to, even if it was only for the weekend.

We've had some absolutely fantastic times here & still do, but as the children are getting older, they have more commitments at the weekends, and so we seem to spend less and less time down in Swanage.

So, we have made the decision to let out our second home, and offer others the opportunity to discover the charm & allure of Swanage! Happy holidays from us all..Sarah, Ian, Tom, Henry & Lily x

Utility Room: Vacuum cleaner, ironing board, clothes dryer, mop and bucket, broom, pegs for retractable washing line in garden. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen included. Property cleaned and towels and linen changed after each let.

Great location

We were a group of 8 ranging from 18 months to 80 and this property suited us all.

The location was perfect for not only viewing the steam trains it was a flat 10 min walk into the town centre and onto the seafront.

Would just suggest a empty cupboard for storing groceries.

A Lovely House In Close Proximity To The Beach

Our extended family really enjoyed their stay in 3 Chestnut Mews. The property was safe for our four 6 years and under and the railway yard view was of great interest to them.

The only thing I think would be useful is a provisions cupboard in the kitchen. When away with small children you always need to bring along their favourite foods.

Lovely property with everything you could need!

second year running that we've stayed at chestnut mews. The house has everything you would need and to a high quality. The location is great, with plenty to do! We didn't use the car all weekend! The owners went above and beyond when we asked for some balloons and banners for my husbands 30th. We would definitely recommend and I'm sure we'll stay again.

Location, facilities and comfort. You've got it all right here.

This house is really cosy and welcoming. It has a small patio garden which is very nice to sit in and you can see the steam train, which is just lovely. There is a more or less everything you could want right here. Bring milk with you as you'd expect in any self catering. This house feels really safe, clean and comfortable. I highly recommend. A maximum of 10 minute walk to the town. Right near a co-op.

The one tiny thing I would mention because I go with my small kids is to watch fingers in the doors as they close automatically and don't let them near the windows as they are relatively easy to open. But saying that, my kids are 1 and 2 so you watch them like a hawk anyway. Older kids, you wouldn't worry at all.

I've stayed here twice now and after writing this review am going to email and ask to stay again. We just love it.

Perfect holiday

This great located family house was clean, near the beach, shops and steam railway. It had all we needed for six if us (easily sleeps 10) and a baby. Help, if required, on the end of a phone. Can't fault. Wish we stayed longer.
