East Soar is a beautiful farm cottage located on the South West coastal path and a stone's throw away from the quaint sea side town of Salcombe. The cottage provides excellent accommodation for those that want to get away from it all and is set in the most spectacular of settings with sea views all around. There are several spectacular sandy beaches within easy walking distance including Starehole Bay, Soar Mill Cove and South Sands. The cottage is perfect for family holidays, friends wanting to get together or couples looking for a romantic break. Walkers and birdwatchers are most welcome and you will not be disappointed with what the area has to offer. There is a small tea shop on the farm where you can indulge in home baked cakes and soups with various other refreshments also available. Logs for the wood burner is provided at no extra cost. Meals can also be provided by prior arrangement.

East Soar Outdoor Experience is situated on seven and

a half acres within the spectacular 600 acre East Soar

Farm. Apart from the farm house and holiday cottage the site comprises several stone barns, fields,

paddocks and a small bit of woodland. The farm is

home to Schalk, Marijke their 3 children and Daisy


A warm welcome awaits you on your arrival and we aim to ensure that those that stay with us have an unforgettable experience in one of the most beautiful parts of the South Hams. Apart from the cottage we also offer a catered camping service in pre-pitched bell tents during the summer months. The cottage is in the most beautiful setting. Think of your dream UK destination and this is it. East Soar is a little piece of heaven. The cottage is very nicely decorated, spotlessly clean and extremely close to Salcombe beaches.

The family are wonderful hosts and the homemade cakes are amazing. We had a great family holiday - the kids were happy to simply stay on the farm. We had to force them to the beach. We will be definitely going back next year.

As soon as we saw the farm we knew it was the place for us as the setting is truly spectacular and the property offers everything you could dream of when looking for holiday accommodation.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Train : Totnes at 30 Kilometres Nearest Beach : South Sands at 2 Kilometres


There are several stunning beaches near the cottage, Starehole Bay is a 10 minute walk away. South Sands is a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk away with Soar Mill Cove a 5 minute drive or half an hour walk away. There is direct access onto several walking routes from the cottage.


Closest train station is Totnes. Closest big town with supermarkets is Kingsbridge.


Nearest village with pub and shop, 5 minute drive away. Salcombe is less than 10 minute drive away. Several other beaches within half an hours drive.

Further Details:

Kingsbridge (15 minute drive) has two large supermarkets, several banks, shops and restaurants.

East Soar Farm cottage is located in the most spectacular of settings in South Devon. It has amazing sea views and is located on the South West coastal path. Several beautiful Sandy beaches are within walking distance including Stare hole Bay, Soar Mill Cove and South Sands. The farm has a real sense of isolation yet Salcombe with its quaint shops, cafes and pubs is only a 10 minute drive away. There is a Walker's hut on the farm where you can relax and enjoy home baked cakes and variety of other refreshments. The property has a log burner with an unlimited supply of logs included at no extra charge. East Soar Farm is the perfect getaway for families, friends or couples. Dogs accepted at an extra charge of £25 on arrangement with owner
