We want to help people have memorable holidays in St.Ives. Number 5 is a bright, peaceful and practical home, only 5 minutes walk from possibly the most breathtaking scenery in the UK. Our home is equipped to fulfil the needs of most young families, couples and singles but we are happy to help if we can, should you need something extra.

Our home has the most awesome views from the main bedroom (what a view to wake up to!), conservatory (which houses the dining table and sofa bed), 'upper deck' complete with 4 comfortable rattan effect seats & footstools and glass balustrades to enjoy the view uninterrupted, and 'upper garden' complete with a rotary airer. There is also a 'lower deck'/garden area to soak up the last rays of the day or to sunbathe in!

The main (double) bedroom has a wardrobe, drawers and TV, but all you need is the view! The second bedroom has a bunk bed and a single bed, so 3 people can sleep in here. A travel cot is available on request.

Need a high chair, bouncer and microwave steriliser? Just send us a message and we'll do our best to help.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept pets as our property is pet-free.

Unser Haus Nr.5 ist ein helles, ruhiggelegenes und praktisch eingerichtetes Haus, in fußläufiger Entfernung von der wahrscheinlich atemberaubendsten Küstenlandschaft Großbritanniens.

Das Haus ist auf die Bedürfnisse junger Familien, Paare und Alleinreisender gut eingestellt.

Sollten Sie besondere Wünsche haben, freuen wir uns, diese zu erfüllen.

Unser Haus hat eine wunderbare Aussicht: vom Schlafzimmer - Erwachen mit Blick auf die Bucht von St. Ives- ,

dazu gibt es eine überdachte Veranda mit Esstisch und Schlafcouch,

die obere Terasse mit Essplatz, vier Stühlen, Hockern und einer Glasbalustrade ermöglicht eine ungestörte Aussicht.

Im Garten haben wir noch eine untere Terrasse mit Sitzplätzen eingerichtet, wo sich die letzten Sonnenstrahlen des Tages sammeln.

Das Schlafzimmer ist mit Doppelbett, Schrank, Fernseher und Kommode ausgestattet, im Kinderzimmer befinden sich ein Etagenbett und ein Einzelbett, so dass dort drei Personen schlafen können.

Falls ein Reisekinderbett, Hochstuhl, Babyhopser oder ein Flaschensterilisator benötigt wird, können wir diese gerne zur Verfügung stellen.

Die onlinegestellten Fotos sind nicht ganz aktuell da wir noch auf neue Betten und Lampen warten, werden aber baldmöglichst aktualisiert.

In unserem Haus können wir leider keine Haustiere zulassen.

About Donna Smith

We love St. Ives! We married in 2010 and jumped at the chance to buy Number 5! Donna grew up in the house next door to Number 5 and loves the parking space so close to the town centre. John grew up in Perranporth, and his favourite part of the house is the view from the bed! We have been lucky enough to raise our twin boys (4yrs) in this house, but are currently undertaking a project on the other side of the coast.

Why Donna Smith chose St Ives

St. Ives has the right balance of everything for us. You can do pretty much anything you want to - go surfing, shop, relax with a cuppa looking at the view, take a fishing trip and more! We have a laid back house that you can relax in without feeling 'out of place'.

What makes this house unique

The outside space for St. Ives is brilliant. We have an upper deck (with a view shown through the glass balastrades), a lower deck and a two tiered garden (with a view). Number 5 also has a parking space which in St. Ives is invaluable. It really is a short walk into the town centre too! The best bit for us (and the thing we will miss most as a family) is the dining table in the conservatory - what a beautiful way to start and end the day - eating around the table with your family, looking at the amazing view.

Notes on accommodation: If a cosy night in after an evening stroll is on the cards, sit and enjoy the view from the conservatory's sofa! Parking – Parking is at a premium in St. Ives with most car parks demanding in excess of £1 for each hour of parking! Number 5 provides free parking for a medium size family car e.g. a Peugeot 207/308, and although the space itself is not cramped, reversing into the space (advised) in a long car can be tricky due to parked cars on the opposite side. Trelawney Road itself has free, unrestricted parking. Although in peak weeks it is more difficult to find a space right outside the house, it is a possibility to park here instead! Please note - neighbours have an adjoining space. Please be considerate of them accessing their car. Outside: Number 5 has a lot to offer you! There is an upper 'deck' (decked area), middle tier, garden, and a lower deck. The upper deck has beautiful sea views and a seating area, allowing you to eat any and every meal outside – it becomes addictive! The garden is set over two tiers and also benefits from sea views. The lower deck captures the last of the evening sun and is a great place to chill out or have some family fun. All of the outside areas of Number 5 promote a relaxing and enjoyable stay. There is a small courtyard to the rear of the property (behind the parking space and flower bed) which also gains glorious sunshine from mid-afternoon. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All linen and towels are included, fresh every week. Number 5 is cleaned thoroughly before your stay. We ask that you bring your own towels for the beach. We give you an emergency contact number 24hrs a day. Refuse collection. The refuse is collected from outside the green gate of Number 5. We ask that you make sure the green wheelie bin and recycling box/bags are outside the gate every Sunday evening as collection is often early on a Monday morning.

Very nicely kept and convenient house, in a great location

The house is spacious and well looked after, with good facilities. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the downstairs area comprising lounge, open-plan into a sunroom was clean and comfortable with plenty of seating. The outside decking area with table and chairs has a fabulous view over St. Ives and the bay, and is a nice place to sit morning or evening. Upstairs the bathroom fittings are modern, as are the bedroom furnishings. The owners have given a lot of thought to preparing this house, and also provided a helpful information pack that not only gives ideas on where to go but also has practical information like where to get medical help if needed. The value of the off-street parking space right outside is only something you appreciate when you see how busy St. Ives is generally, and contemplate searching for street parking or walking to and from one of the car parks each day. The location is very convenient - a 2-3 minute walk down the hill, and you're on the harbour-front with all the shops and restaurants etc. And when you return, you've got that panoramic view.

Lovely house very well situated with great sea views

Had a lovely winter here break for a week. House very comfortable and well situated (<10 mins into town) with great sea views. Kitchen well set up with everything you would need for a self catering trip and close to all restaurents and bars for eating out too. Donna provided a helpful folder with a ton of useful info re house and local area and a cream tea welcome (very kind!) Would definitely recommend.

Excellent value for money

Just back from an enjoyable 4 days at the property which is perfectly located for walking into the town or beaches. There is unlimited WiFi if you want it and TVs in the living and bedrooms. But why would you want it with that view ! There was excellent communication with the owners and we would happily return in the future . Only thing to note is that the walk is steep and the property not suitable for those with mobility issues however this was not an issue for us. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Special interest holidays:

Surfing lessons are available from Porthmeor Beach, by a friendly local instructor. Due to the physical locality of St. Ives, there are many fishing trips available from the harbour, daily. To book, just walk down to the Lifeboat house on the Wharf – it is advisable to book a few days in advance but is always subject to weather conditions. Don't forget to book in on a painting course either!


Over Porthmeor Hill is Porthmeor beach – known for surfing – 5mins walk, behind this is Porthgwidden beach. Bambaluz beach is to the right of Porthgwidden. The Harbour beach is less than 10mins walk from Number 5 and Porthminster beach is also a short walk. Remember though, you can simply enjoy the beautiful sea views from Number 5.


Newquay airport is 45mins drive from St. Ives.


Take in St. Michael’s Mount 8miles- trying to find the Giant’s heart in the cobbles, visit the Tate St. Ives, watch a performance at the cliff edge Minack Theatre, venture to Land’s End 25miles, visit an authentic tin mine (Geevor or Levant beam), Gweek Seal Sanctuary 40mins, Flambard’s Theme Park, Paradise Park and Jungle Barn 5miles, National Trust properties, the natural seal colony at Gwithian 7miles, whilst at Godrevy lighthouse (visible from Bedroom 1!), and the Eden project 1hr drive.

Further Details:

For the convenience of all our guests, we regret that we cannot accept pets and smoking is not allowed inside the property. We also politely ask you to refrain from feeding the seagulls: although beautiful, unfortunately they are a nuisance in St. Ives!

To welcome you to Number 5, a traditional Cornish Cream Tea will be provided in the fridge.
