They can be rented independently or all together for large group. The estate of Villa Grabau, a luxury Tuscan villa, offers visitors impressions of unchanged past times. Lying on the border between the plain and surrounding hillside and enclosed within a historic wall, the Villa stands within nine hectares of parkland full of secular trees and real botanical rare species. Stepping outside the gates, there are many scenic walks to be taken in the surrounding woods, olive groves and vineyards. Only 7km from the beautiful medieval city of Lucca, 25 km from the seaside, 20km from Pisa and 70km from Florence, the villas are in the perfect location for exploring Tuscany.
I live at Villa Grabau and manage all the accommodation and property rentals myself. I love to show people around the villa and the garden and I am always willing to play golf with anyone interested! I am also a pranotherapist / bio-energy healer and enjoy meditation, walking, art, going to the seaside and of course, eating and drinking the many wonderful local dishes and wines produced in our area.
Federico Grabau purchased this villa in 1949
Villa Grabau was purchased in 1868 by the wealthy German banker Rodolfo Schwartze for his wife Carolina Grabau. Her father, Carlo Grabau, was born in Hamburg in 1784 of noble German extraction. He was then transferred in 1832 to Livorno by the Granduke of Tuscany and appointed to be General Consul for the Anseatic Cities of the Northern Sea. He then married Enrichetta Inghirami, from a noble patrician family of Volterra. The Schwartze family had no children, so Villa Grabau was passed down to Carolina's nephew, Marcello Grabau who later married the Countess Francesca Cenami Spada, a noble Patrician of Lucca, and had five children. The Villa then passed to their son Ludovico, and now belongs to his son and daughter, Federico and Francesca.
