Travel:

Use of a car is essential, both Toulouse and Rodez airports are approximately 1 hour from the house by car.

Distances:

Verfeil village about 2km where there is a baker/general stores, PO and restaurant.

St Antonin 10km famous for its Sunday market has small supermarkets shops and several restaurants.

Caussade and Villefranche both 25km have good markets with many and large supermarkets.

This area abounds in medieval "Bastide" towns & villages such as Cordes, Najac, Albi & St Antonin. The ancient Abbaye de Beaulieu is on our doorstep & there is a Knights Templars castle among others within the locality

Further Details:

The house is situated in a beautiful and unspoilt area that lies just beyond the limestone plateaux (causses) of Quercy in the rolling hills of Rouergue. The deep wooded slopes of the valleys and surrounding hills in which ancient hamlets nestle gives plenty of room for wildlife such as red squirrels, deer, wild pigs and birds which include birds of prey nightingales, hoopoes etc.

Swimming both in the River Aveyron at St Antonin, and pools atCaylus and further afield. Tennis courts in Verfeil & local horse riding. It is a wonderful area for cycling and for both easy and strenuous walking with superb views. On the Aveyron there is kayaking and boating with rock climbing in the Aveyron Gorge, The area boasts of many natural attractions such as underground caves, grottos, gorges, water falls and forests etc.

Notes on accommodation: Central heating and log fire. Outside: The house is a typical 18 century Quercy farm house built in stone with living accommodation on the first floor which is approached by an exterior stone stairway. There is a wisteria covered area attached to the house for sun bathing with garden furniture etc. The ground floor of the house (sous sol) is large but unused except for storage and adjacent is the shower room and washing machine. The garden is large and is bordered by a small river where children may play; there are many large shady trees to resort to in the hot weather. Utility Room: Washing machine on the ground floor. Recliners, garden chairs and table. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen is not included but can be supplied, please ask for details when booking.

Très belle maison ancienne restaurée à "l'authentique" dans une magnifique propriété avec un grand jardin, un bruit d'eau continu venant de la rivière qui longe la propriété.

Coup de cœur pour la terrasse ombragée.

Belle situation pour les balades, les plans d'eau. Cette partie du Quercy est très belle. Gorges de l'Aveyron à 20 minutes en voiture.
