We are very mindful about whom we host.

So once we decide to host a family, I and my team do EVERYTHING to make and keep our guests happy... and whatever we can do for you, we shall do it at no additional charge.

There are absolutely NO extra fees or charges:

all taxes, utility charges, TV cable usage, wi-fi broadband internet, housekeeping/maid service, personal laundry service, final cleaning,

printing, package/parcel acceptance any time prior to arrival, et al are included in the rate.

[ Nota bene: upon request we arrange AIRPORT TRANSFERS (suv or sedan). However settling with the driver is guests' responsibility.

The car service that we use do offer our guests very good rates and all airport rates are set. ]

Our rates vary from week to week, depending on demand, as measured by the going rates at local hotels and the demand data that I have accumulated while hosting guests for the last 9 years.


Rates depend on a number of factors:

- your specific travel dates (high demand vs low demand, weekdays vs weekend),

- the length of your stay (longer stays is less expensive per diem),

- filling the odd 1 to 3 night occupancy gaps between our longer reservations will also lower your per diem rate,

- quoted rates are for 1-2 persons, additional daily charges apply if greater than that.


Additional occasional DISCOUNTS are offered:

- to members of academia,

- to large families who might need the courtesy,

- due to last minute cancellations.


Depending on season and apartment daily rates range from $250 for the gap nights for our Small apartment to above the starting rate of $750 for Large apartments.

Please note that the lowest rate listed is offered only for specific dates which will allow us to close the gaps left in our schedule between periods of longer occupancy.

About the Owner

This property is listed by its Owners (a married couple with a young son) that live on the premises on the upper floors (4,5,6). The Owners have lived in The Townhouse for over 26 years and have been hosting guests on a short- and mid-term basis for the past 9 years.

Full time staff also live with us.

The task of the staff is to take care of daily needs of our guests.

We do everything we can for our guests and ALWAYS at no additional charge. - We do not nickle and dime...

We sincerely want our guests to be as happy as possible with their overall experience of New York and not just the stay in our house. So we go out of our way to help... and do everything we can.

The owners are available at all times to help with any of the guests needs and are always there to welcome our guests.

There is always someone at the house to answer the door 24 hours a day.

So you can arrive after midnight or at 6 in the morning and we shall welcome you with a smile.

Nothing is too much of a hassle for us...

and we also arrange airport transportation.

Obviously this house is also our home and even though it is a BIG house we do feel the 'energy' of the guests that stay under the same roof with us...

Thus, we speak to all our guest before we confirm their stays. And we make sure to personally greet them when they arrive and we are also there to say goodbye...

A Great Place to Stay

This property is beautifully located just off of Central Park in the Upper East Side. Julia and Claudio are wonderful hosts, and the home is spacious and well appointed. The daily cleaning service was also a plus as compared to other VRBO properties in which we have stayed. We felt like we had a home away from home in NYC, and look forward to staying here again in the future!

Luxury old world NYC/5th Ave magnificence!

I'm a mature, seasoned , picky , world traveler and I had the absolute pleasure of spending 2 weeks in 2 of Julia's fabulous suites , the Deluxe European suite and the small Murphy bed suite .

This luxury grand home is designed to cater and pamper ones every need , with Julua and her capable staffs attention to maintaining each suite and offering every guest the supreme comfort of a fine home with daily maid service , complimentary daily laundry service and superior comfort sleeping in pressed, Frette bedding on fabulous firm temprapedic king size beds , down pillows to boot!.. Couldn't find better beds anywhere! I didn't want to get up in the mornings !!

Efficient wifi , cable TV , fully equipped kitchens and high ceilings with beautiful furnishings made my stay perfectly wonderful , surpassing my expectations !

Julia is a hands on owner, operator whose there to respond to her guests every need .

The home is located next to Central Park with easy access to the finest dining , shopping and convenience markets to keep you stocked thru your stay !

I am indebted to Julia for creating an impeccably gorgeous home and opening it up to those lucky enough to book a stay in her property !

Fantastic trip arrival through farewell!

Amazing location and hospitality! Central Park is steps away as are high-end hotels and dining. Host gives fantastic recommendations. Property is absolutely beautiful with all amenities (came back to our dirty laundry pile laundered and folded!) as they go above and beyond . And icing on the cake. . . last day there, a movie being shot on our block with the actors taking a break on our stoop. Lights, camera, action!

Upper East Side Manhattan Jewel

I have had the pleasure of staying at this property on several occasions as a repeat guest over the last year, while in the process of returning to live back in New York City. I am very familiar with this area, having lived ten blocks south for over twenty years. I would rate the neighbourhood as one of the most desirable in the city. It is steps from Central Park, great shopping, cafes and dining. Not to mention many museums and galleries.

The property itself is a beautiful townhouse mansion, immaculately maintained, tranquil and safe.

The hosts and staff are gracious, accommodating and non-intrusive.

I have stayed in both the large Terraced Suite and in the smallest room with a Murphy bed. My experiences have all been positive and I have recommended this listing to family and friends seeking an alternative to New York hotels. It is suitable for both business and vacation travellers. The suites can accommodate family and individuals as well.

I would highly recommend stay here when planning your next trip to New York City. It is truly a special and unique experience!

Central Park Townhouse lives up to billing

My partner and I (lawyer/writer from Manchester, England) had visited New York when we were younger on a number of occasions, always loved it and wanted to experience it again with our 4 teenage children. As a family of 6 we prefer to book an apartment if possible as it gives us much more flexibility. So it was that we came to stay for 6 nights in the Deluxe European Suite, also using the first floor apartment with Murphy bed for our oldest (17) year old son. Julia makes it clear that she insists upon a discussion before confirming any reservation: this was something that might concern potential bookers but in fact there were no problems in making a reservation and she simply wants to understand her guests’ requirements properly so that was all straightforward.

We were picked up from the airport and this service was available for us on departure although we chose to make our own way by subway as the traffic on our way in had been quite bad. We were immediately struck by the quality of the accommodation and its location. The apartment is absolutely fantastic with loads of space and is right next to Central Park which was great for my son and I who went running in the park first thing each morning.

Julia is very attentive to guests’ needs. Laundry was returned within 24 hours and nothing was too much trouble. She does everything that she can to ensure your stay is relaxed and enjoyable but actually she doesn’t really have to: the apartment itself is just so good that even without that extra service everything would have been great. In short, thoroughly recommended and exactly as we had anticipated having looked at the website.

Grand Apartments that were beyond expectations

Family of fourteen in four apartments 4 nights.

Our family of 14 just spent 4 nights at Julia and Claudio’s place, occupying a total of 4 units. We occupied the three larger units and a smaller lower level unit. The large unit that my wife and I stayed in consisted of a large bedroom and living room with dining space and a small kitchen and bathroom. This unit served as a gathering place and accommodated our group for a couple of informal dinners. Each of the units had its own small, amply equipped kitchen, which were handy for breakfasts and snacks, etc.

Our three daughters and their families occupied the two other large units. One unit was a one bedroom, one bathroom unit with pull out couches and twin beds situated in the living room. This unit was occupied by two of them with young families. With so many occupants it was a bit crowded (only one bathroom between the 6 of them and a baby) but they sometimes migrated to our suite. Our other daughter and her husband and two middle school aged children were well situated in the third suite, consisting of a large bedroom, living/dining space and small kitchen. Our son occupied the small lower-level unit, which was completely adequate for his needs.

The place met our expectations and the décor exceeded expectations. The individual suites are nicely decorated and very comfortable with very high ceilings, which made for an even more spacious feel. On the whole the place worked well for us affording some privacy for most of us, and at the same time we were able to feel that we were all in the same “home.” (There was no need to lock our doors so all had free access.)

The location is wonderful. It is part of a very exclusive section in N.Y.C. The proximity to Central Park and to many nearby art museums lent itself to easy access to important places to visit and to a feeling of being a local. On the whole our experience was very good if not outstanding. Julia runs the place well and has a very good staff helping her.
