GRAND WHITE LOFT - bright & sunny nyc loft - sleeps up to 8 guests

~65sqm/700sqft  3rd floor, VERY BRIGHT  faces quiet tree-lined street  ideal for large families   2 rooms: very large living room + small bedroom with door + kitchen + bathroom   SLEEPS up to 8 adults in 5 BEDS in 4 separate SLEEPING AREAS: 1) King bed (193×203cm) in bedroom; 2&3) TWO set away from the living area and not visible to each other TWIN beds (99x203cm), one of those areas is almost completely private ; 4) in the sitting area across from each other there are TWO very comfortable easy to operate QUEEN sofa-beds (153x203cm) for 2 adults each. ** NB: none of the photos and videos reflect the recent renovations in the Loft. - We have built a solid wall between the bedroom and the living area... expanded the Loft and added a new semi-private sleeping area with a 2nd Twin bed… built a large closet... redecorated and refurnished a bit. - Now the White Loft is even whiter than it was… We are very happy with the way the renovations turned out !!!

So once we decide to host a family, I and my team do EVERYTHING to make and keep our guests happy... and whatever we can do for you, we shall do it at no additional charge.

We do not collect a security deposit as we have high confidence in guests we choose to host, moreover we are always at home thus are well aware of what is happening, and if something breaks, this is life. - we fix it or replace it! We know it was not done on purpose...

There are absolutely NO extra fees or charges:

utility charges, TV cable usage, wi-fi broadband internet, housekeeping/maid service, personal laundry service, final cleaning,

printing, package/parcel acceptance any time prior to arrival, et al are included in the rate.

[ Nota bene: upon request we arrange AIRPORT TRANSFERS (suv or sedan). However settling with the driver is guests' responsibility.

The car service that we use do offer our guests very good rates and all airport rates are set. ]

Our rates vary from week to week, depending on demand, as measured by the going rates at local hotels and the demand data that I have accumulated while hosting guests for the last 9 years.

Rates depend on a number of factors:

- your specific travel dates (high demand vs low demand, weekdays vs weekend),

- the length of your stay (longer stays is less expensive per diem),

- filling the odd 1 to 3 night occupancy gaps between our longer reservations will also lower your per diem rate,

This property is listed by its Owners (a married couple with a young son) that live in the premises. The Owners have lived in The Townhouse for over 26 years and have been hosting guests on a short- and mid-term basis for the past 9 years.

Full time staff also live with us.

The task of the staff is to take care of daily needs of our guests.

We do everything we can for our guests and ALWAYS at no additional charge. - We do not nickle and dime.

We sincerely want our guests to be as happy as possible with their overall experience of New York and not just the stay in our house. So we go out of our way to help... and do everything we can.

The owners are available at all times to help with any of the guests needs and are always there to welcome our guests.

There is always someone at the house to answer the door 24 hours a day.

So you can arrive after midnight or at 6 in the morning and we shall welcome you with a smile.

Nothing is too much of a hassle for us...

and we also arrange airport transportation.

Obviously this house is also our home and even though it is a BIG house we do feel the 'energy' of the guests that stay under the same roof with us...

Thus, we speak to all our guest before we confirm their stays. And we make sure to personally greet them when they arrive and we are also there to say goodbye...

Exceeded All Expectations :-)

We live in Queensland Australia and with my daughter finishing her last year of schooling, we decided as a treat to visit New York! In the end it turned into a celebration of 3 generations travelling across the US – my Mum that joined us from Cape Town, South Africa (70 years old), my daughter (17 years) and myself (44 years). We started in Los Angele and visited San Francisco, Las Vegas, Memphis, Orlando and last NYC.

As my daughter and I reminisce about our amazing time in New York City, we are always brought back to the lovely location, apartment, and service we received at ‘the Apartments on 5th Avenue.’ Dubbed the Museum Mile, we felt like absolute royalty. I always loved the beautiful Brownstone Townhouses that I would see on TV shows however, I can assure you that not one of them compares to this Luxurious Limestone Mansion.

It was quite late when we arrived in NYC, and we were all very tired after travelling around the country. We were pleasantly surprised with the transport Julia had arranged for us – a white stretch limo! Julia greeted us as we got to the apartments, and she noticed that my Mum was feeling quite ill with the flu. After showing us the apartment that we originally were keen on and had firmly requested (Deluxe Terraced Suite), Julia suggested that we choose between it and another apartment that she felt would work better now that Mum was sick… It turned out to be a blessing. Indeed in the ‘White Loft’ that Julia suggested, Mum could rest more comfortably in her own room and all of us could have separate sleeping spaces. The ‘White Loft’ faces the street and we absolutely loved it!

For the first 6 days mom was unwell and stayed in. So watching from the window people walking the dogs, watching the snow fall, hearing all the sounds of the city – those memories are still vivid for us today as they were then.

The location is absolutely unbeatable. With Central Park, many Museums, The Met and Madison Avenue Shops just a few steps away. Taxis were readily available in front of the apartment, which made sightseeing and shopping a breeze. We went for walks late at night and we never felt unsafe. The weather was freezing so it was so lovely to come home to a perfectly heated apartment every day.

It is the little things that they do – like your laundry every day and the apartment fully serviced, it is like staying in a hotel, with much more room and personalised service.

This is what you call 'Home away from Home'

The Townhouse experience is a homely warmth you may never find in Manhattan. Not only that, one day while walking down Madison Ave it occurred to me that the location is probably the best location to have a house anywhere in the City. Simply because you can't beat the accessibility to Central Park and Flagship stores on Madison. Considering The Surrey, Carlyle and The Mark are within the same vicinity you get more space for your buck which for me went along way!

Gorgeous rental in perfect location!

Gorgeous rental (better than described) in a perfect location! My husband and I have stayed in the Grand White Loft on multiple occasions with our two teenage children and cannot say enough wonderful things about Julia and her property! The apartment is beautiful and kept immaculately clean. The beds, pillows and linens are as comfortable as any 5 star hotel. There are delicious casual as well as Michelin star restaurants and world class shopping within walking distance from the apartment. We enjoy being so close to Central Park (for a run or a casual stroll). Julia will treat you like family! She is a wonderful hostess and is always available to help with restaurant recommendations, directions to grocery stores, bakeries, or pharmacies, or to accommodate you in every way. We will be back soon!

A taste of old New York

The Fifth Avenue Townhouse is a taste of old New York, still a private home with 4 apartments available for short term rentals. The location is impeccable: 76th between 5th and Madison Avenues. Our suite was extremely large: a spacious living room with two sofas and a dining table with seating for 6, a roomy bedroom, a marble bathroom with great water pressure and a small, but functional kitchen. The price is very reasonable for all that space. The ceilings must be 14 feet giving a scale that cannot be had outside a select few hotels such as the Sherry Netherland or the Pierre.

The street is extraordinarily quiet. We got a great night's sleep.

This is a home, so there are a few eccentricities. The radiator is pretty loud when it comes on. We opened the living room window, but could not get it shut again. We did not get maid service or laundry service because there was a family emergency. The curtains in the bedroom are ripe for replacement and the furniture on the terrace was a bit of a jumble.

Julia insists on speaking by phone before booking, which I appreciated given that fact that she, her husband and young son live on the top three floors.

Staying at the Fifth Avenue Townhouse was an adventure and we would return.
