About the property

Mongolian Yurt & Wooden Chalet (Glamping) in Andalucia. Torre del Mar, Malaga, Costa del Sol, Spain - Costa del Sol - Private And Peaceful Location 10 Mins Walk From The Beach With Own Pool

This property is a little oasis of around 2,200sq.m in traditional Andalucia and one of the last unspoilt parts of the Costa Del Sol. With a Mongolian Yurt, wooden chalet, loads of seating areas and places to chill out, including a large private carp pond (sorry no fishing) with plenty of fish, beautiful gardens, a pool and a separate plunge pool, outside barbecue areas, own private covered parking for two cars, well equipped kitchen and shared bathroom facilities. Within easy walking distance of Torre del Mar which is a popular and busy Spanish holiday resort, and Almayate which is a very friendly, traditional farming village with great tapas bars. Also close to public transport so car not necessary. Lots of beach chiringuitos (small beach bars) and restaurants in a very Spanish, unspoilt area of the Costa Del Sol.

About Benjamin Holmes

We are a couple that have a beautiful place on an unspoilt part of the Costa Del Sol (the Spanish part). We live there and we offer bed and breakfast in a Yurt for those that are interested in experiencing staying in a traditional Mongolian beautifully hand made construction.

Benjamin Holmes purchased this bed and breakfast in 2006

Why Benjamin Holmes chose Axarquia (Costa del Sol)

We bought the place, not as an investment but because it is unique in every way. Perfectly located in a private and secluded place and yet only around 300 meters off the main coast road along the Spanish side of Malaga between Almayate and Torre del Mar. Being within walking distance of the main road allows access to the Malaga - Nerja bus service so car not essential. Almayate is a very traditional Spanish village with wonderful tapas bars and excellent restaurants that use only local produce, and the Spanish holiday resort of Torre del Mar. Torre Del Mar has a population of up to 150,000 people in the summer months and like most resorts it quietens down in the winter but still has a vast array of restaurants, bars and even night clubs that are open all year round.

What makes this bed and breakfast unique

Our location allows us to walk to either Torre del Mar or in the other direction to Almayate and is situated below one of the few remaining Osbourne Spanish Bulls. It is also within easy walking distance of the beaches and for those that are interested there is even a secluded naturist beach. Each day Pepe goes by with his Andalucian bulls pulling the cart and the two little dogs follow on the flanks. Also, each day you will see the sheep and goats emerging over the mountain and back again in the evening. A wonderful site if you've not seen it before.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Malaga at 20 Miles Nearest Barpub : Pepe Molinas at 1 Miles Nearest Golf : Baviera Golf at 2 Miles Nearest Motorway : N340 - AP7 at 2 Miles Nearest Restaurant : Pepe Molinas at 1 Miles Nearest Ski : Sierra Nevada at 125 Miles Nearest Beach : Almayate at 500 Metres Car: not necessary

Coast/Beach:

The nearest beach is within 10 minutes easy walk and are unspoilt with chrringitos spread at various intervals all the way to Torre del Mar, around 3/4 mile away where there are water sports, sun beds, ball games, boats for hire and also a beautiful paved walkway with well kept gardens. In the summer months there is usually something going on most evenings around the seafront but remember that the Spanish stay up late. There is even a secluded and private naturist beach for those that prefer.

Travel:

About 40 minutes drive from Malaga airport or around 1 hour using the air conditioned and very comfortable buses. Cost from the airport is about €3 each way so very affordable. The bus stop is about 200 meters easy walk from where we are. No car necessary!

Distances:

Almayate village, about 10 minutes easy walk away, is a very traditional Spanish farming village with a few restaurants and tapas bars all of which use local produce. Home to the famous Pepe Molina restaurant/bar where they serve the most amazing spit roast pork tapa!

In the other direction, around 10-15 minutes walk is the very popular Spanish holiday resort of Torre del Mar. Just far away enough to not know it's there unless you want to. Summer months it's buzzing and there's always a fiesta.

Further Details:

Normal opening times for shops and banks etc are Mon-Friday 10am - 2pm and again from 5pm - 8pm. But they do vary from place to place so further information is left for you on arrival.

There are also sports centers, health spas, public swimming pools all around the area along with many other places to see that you will find interesting including the huge Lake Vinuela, the caves at Nerja, the Alhambra in Granada, Rincon de la Victoria, and it's also a good idea to dip in to the Marbella and Puerto Banus areas for a short visit.
