About Sue Andrews

We live in the Purbecks, our six sons have all left home and we now spend our spare time with horses.

Sue Andrews purchased this bungalow in 1980

Why Sue Andrews chose Purbeck

We chose the Purbecks because we love the area having lived here all of our lives, we have lovely beaches, walks and most beautiful countryside. There are also lots of entertainment for children. We have a main rail line and bus route within walking distance.

What makes this bungalow unique

The property has lovely views across water meadows and is central to Poole Harbour, beaches, Monkey World, Corfe Castle and a little farther afield is Abbotsbury tropical Gardens, The Swannery and children's farm to mention a few.

In all this area holds a wealth of interest for all age groups with childrens farms to visit at Langton Matravers and Organford.

The property is in an idylic setting with lovely views. The website photos do not do it justice

  • 4 of 5

The negatives of the property are dirty work surfaces and shelves a very cramped shower that was very difficult to obtain a desired water temperature.Although the owners welcome dogs, they do not make clear that they have several dogs and a cat themselves which free roam the grounds at times, which really spooked our dog and lastly, although we did meet with Mr Andrews on the first day, we didn`t receive any more contact all through the week and not even when it was time to vacate the property. So, there are positives and negatives but would we recommend the property to others? Yes we would as the overall condition of the property was good and the setting is truly unique.

Brilliant family holiday

  • 5 of 5

Well equipped, clean and tidy house with large garden. Our family with 2 very young children loved it. Stunning views and perfect location for exploring Dorset countryside and beautiful beaches. This is the 2nd time we have stayed here and still hope to return.

A truly relaxing week in a superb property .

  • 5 of 5

We were made to feel very welcome by Peter & Daisy the doberman. Inside the property was very spacious and clean. There were plenty of beds to choose from all bedding supplied so no beds to make which was a bonus.

The surroundings outside was a huge bonus... the horses were a lovely addition. Shame the foal was not delivered while there !!

Great House, great location, warm welcome.

  • 5 of 5

We went for Christmas. Clean and tidy. Very spacious. Really, really difficult to find fault...the kitchen had just been replaced and the only two things we could comment upon (purely as positive feedback) is that:

1. we couldn't find a gravy boat! (how dreadful is that??! - I might throw my toys out of the pram!)

2. When the owner's horse blankets are drying in the large tumble drier in the garage it makes a noise that can be heard in the lounge (above). This happened once, but the tumble drier continues automatically until switched off.

You can see that we've really struggled to find fault. We'd definitely recommend this property. It was just perfect for our needs.

Another great holiday In River View Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We have enjoyed many holidays with our children and grandchildren staying at River View Cottage. The property is always spotless and well appointed and the owners are most welcoming and helpful. Situated in Stoborough, it is an ideal location for holidays on the Isle of Purbeck.

Very clean and tidy home from home. Lovely setting. Ideal location easy to get around to beaches and towns. Studland beach great and water was enjoyed by adults and dog both. Bonus with the pub opposite and food great and reasonably priced, staff very accommodating. Dogs welcome.
