Apartment in Oz-en-Oisans, Alpe d'huez, Isere, Rhone Alpes, France - Central Village Location With Views Over The Slopes

This 3 bedroom apartment has a great location in the centre of a quiet pedestrianized village, with easy access to the Alpe d'Huez ski area, and yet over the mountain from Alpe d'Huez. On the lower floor there is a large living and dining area with adjoining kitchen. The new kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher, microwave and washing machine plus all the usual kitchen accessories. The living room has a 32in flat screen TV and blue-ray player. A bathroom with whirlpool bath was re-fitted in 2011. One bedroom is a double and is on the lower floor. The other two are on the upper floor. One has "zip and link" beds offering the choice of a large double or twin beds. The other has limited head height, with twin beds most suitable for children but will take adults too. The second bathroom, with a luxurious and spacious walk in rain-shower is between the bedrooms. New for 2016 - The apartment now has free WiFi.

Fantastic Apartment, immaculate, perfect location

What a beautiful place to stay, the apartment is ski in, ski out with views of the mountains from two sides of the living area. Clean, well equipped, warm, comfy. 5 adults stayed for the week and we had plenty of room. The only reason I wouldn't recommend the apartment is that I don't want it to get fully booked!!

Perfect for a family holiday

The apartment was perfect for our family of 5. It was very well positioned and even though there was not a lot of snow this year it was still very convenient for shops, restaurants and gondola's. It had the best equipped kitchen I have ever experienced in a rental place and a brilliant DVD collection that kept all of us happy for the week. It felt spacious and it was great to have a good sized dinning table we could all eat at. We would love to return and would recommend it whole heartedly. Mark the owner was great from start to finish helping us out with all sorts of things. The apartment is clearer well taken car of and all linen and towels were of a very comfortable standard. It's a great place for a family holiday.

Lovely apartment in a beautiful alpine village

The apartment was very well appointed and well-maintained with all the luxuries you could ask for. The location was perfect being 20m from ski school, a lift ride to the bakery, 30m from the supermarche, 20m from two ski rental shops and no more than 100m from both ski lifts. It looks over the pretty village of Oz so you can see when the gondola starts operating in the morning. The gondola gives you a 15 minute ride to the main Alp d'Huez slopes with slopes all the way back home. The village is quiet but with all the amenities you could require. We will definitely return!!

Super apartment, perfect position

We have stayed here 2 or 3 times before. It's clean, comfortable very well equipped - all you need and more. We know Oz is compact but this place is superbly positioned - seconds from the best pub, the Sherpa, ski shop and car park lift. Its balcony must give some of the best views in Oz.

Ski out and back to locker room. Good customer service from

friendly owner. We are back again this season.

Top Quality

We have stayed at this apartment three times, twice for mountain biking in the summer months and once for skiing.

If you want a 5 star pad then this is the place. The apartment has all you need with everything at a very high standard. It is very clean and well maintained and has great views. It is situated in a very convenient location, walk out the door with your ski boots on to either of the cable cars.

A Patisserie is on the ground floor so you can have fresh baked croissants for breakfast, also a well-stocked supermarket across the road. Good restaurants too.

For summer months there is a great variety of mountain bike routes, excellent downhill riding and cross country trails. Brilliant!!,

Mountain Biking Heaven

What a great way to enjoy the Alps in summertime! The apartment lived up to expectations - clean, well appointed and with all the extras that make living and cooking-in easy. The views from the balcony (apres cycling drinks and meals) were great - ideal temperature for eating outside with insects. The choice of downhill and cross country mountain bike trails was extensive offering something challenging for everyone in our group from starting on the snow at the top of the Mega avalanche to the scenic winding trails of the lower slopes.

The owner keeps the place in top condition and was quick to respond to questions - he obviously knows Oz well and was able to advise on lift passes (which seemed good value at 60 euros for 5 days).

Looking forward to going again next year as there are still many trails still to explore.

Location

We loved this quiet ski village when we first visited, and have been really impressed with the access to the pistes. Now that we have been in the summer we realise that there is so much to do in the area too.

Nearest Airport : Grenoble at 97 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : Le Poutran at 20 Metres Nearest Restaurant : Le Poutran at 20 Metres Nearest Ski : Alpette Ski Lift at 100 Metres Car: recommended

Special interest holidays:

Alpe d'Huez is a large mountain bike area in the summer with cross country and down hill routes accessible from Oz Station. In addition Oz has Tennis courts, High ropes/zip wire activities in the summer. There is a wide choice of walking and mountaining hiking from the village, as well as canyoning. There are also White water activities within 40 minitues of Oz.

Travel:

By Air: During the ski season, you can fly to Grenoble (90 mins drive), Chambery (90 mins), Lyon (2hrs) or Geneva (2hrs 30 mins) and these are serviced by the budget airlines, (EasyJet, Thomas Cook, BMIbaby, Jet2, Flybe)

From the airports you can hire a car, and there are many car rental companies at the airports, but better deals can usually be found by prebooking online.

From the Owner

We love the location, right in the centre of the village, easy to get to the ski lifts, but close to the shops and facilities. Really easy to get back to the apartment at lunch time too, helps to keep the costs down, if you don't want to eat up the mountain. We are continuing to upgrade the apartment but have already fitted new bathrooms, a new kitchen and flooring. So all the big things have been done in the last couple of years, but continuing to make smaller improvements.

  • Notes on accommodation: A travel cot is available, but please provide your own bedding for this. Outside: There are 3 balconies, the larger one south-facing with table and chairs and views over the slopes. Great mid-day sun. The one off the kitchen catches the morning sun and has a table and two chairs for a more intimate coffee. Utility Room: No utility room, but washing machine in kitchen. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The property is cleaned before arrival. Towels and linen are provided, but please take your own swimming towels. Other: Ski locker in the basement of the apartments.
