Apartment on Oura Beach, Albufeira, Central Algarve, Portugal - Unwind In A Relaxed Atmosphere And Listen To The Waves Caress The Shore

Beautiful 3rd floor apartment in the prestigious Clube Borda D’Agua family run Hotel right on the famous (Praia da Oura) Oura beach which is one of the best beaches in the Algarve. On this Blue Flag beach in high season Lifeguards patrol watching over all the various water sports and facilities including sunbeds and umbrella shades. Everything is within a 2 minute stroll, newsagents, a bakery, supermarket, gift shop, cafes FREE Wifi and bars (Sky Sports) and restaurants, The private outdoor residents pool and sun beds are secure with access only available within the Hotel. The Indoor pool and Jacuzzi is below this on the ground floor with a key available from reception out of season. The double fronted balcony reached from either the kitchen or the Master bedroom permits the alfresco dining, the sun bathing or just chilling out and listen to the ocean lapping on the shore in the evening as the sun goes down.

Home from Home. We have now been 4 times Harold treats us like part of the family, nothing is too much trouble cannot recommend him, the location or the apartment high enough. SB. Cardiff

Loved every minute of it, the kids loved the beach and the banana boat ride when we were hungry one of us just nipped back to the apartment and made some sandwiches it was only a couple of minutes away. The handy thing was you could keep an eye on the children from the kitchen in the pool below. P.N. Reading

Notes on accommodation: No smoking inside the apartment, only on the balcony please. It is also suitable for small children with the use of a travel cot and high chair. The apartment is located very centrally to all amenities, 2 min from beach 2 min from the shops and 4 mins from the famous strip with its countless shops, bars and restaurants. 6 mins by taxi or “Road Train” to the tranquil Old Town where you can dine on Fishermans beach, a choice of 100+ restaurants from around the world, watch mime artists and puppets in the square or just chill out in Music Alley. Transfers can be easily arranged from the airport and to just about any attraction on the Algarve. FREE WI-FI in all the cafés and bars. Outside: The private first floor outside pool is only available to residents and my guests and surrounded by plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas. From here you overlook the restaurants below, the beach bars and of course the beach. Also below the pool is the indoor pool and jacuzzi. Utility Room: Large dining table and 4 padded chairs or go through the large patio doors onto the veranda there is another table and 4 chairs for those Alfresco nights or breakfast in the sun. Clothes airer/dryer. Iron and ironing board. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bedlinen, bath and hand towels supplied. The property is cleaned each week along with towels and linen for people who book 2 weeks. For shorter stays there is a charge for mid week cleaning/towel change.Please bring your own pool/beach towels. Other: Security, access can only be gained through reception which is locked at 9pm, the key will be on your key ring. Also there are 2 private electronic security gates 1 to the beach, 2 short cut to shops opened by a security code which I also give to you.

Great apartment which is right next to the beach. Swimming pool good as are the restaurants below. Quite a night with the Strip only 5 mins walk up the hill. Woukd stay again

Had a great 5 days. Apartment clean, bright and well kept. Great access to the beach and local restsurants. Overlooking pool and beach. Fantastic view to wake up to in the morning.

Overall a bit disappointed with some aspects.

This is the first time I've ever written a review, I feel compelled to do this so that others are aware of the issues.

There are positives;

The apartment is a good size and has a powerful shower

great view overlooking the sea

Nice pool

People on reception are friendly and helpful

Great local amenities including a bakery and supermarket

Ideally located for "the strip" if you enjoy lively nightlife


The apartment is advertised as having a car parking space and WiFi.

The apartment owner has loaned the underground parking space which comes with the apartment to someone else. This wouldn't be a problem if the parking wasn't so bad in the road.

WiFi isn't available in the apartment, you have to go down 2 flights of stairs and a 100m walk to reception. And the quality of the WiFi is poor.

As well as the above, the apartment would benefit from a comprehensive update.

There's a silver disc on the floor next to the bath to allow the drains to be cleared. Unfortunately this disc has been damaged allowing water to flood the bathroom floor when the plug is pulled after having a bath.

The clothes airer is extremely rusty rendering it unusable, there's only 1 wineglass and this is chipped! The TV is only of use to watch a DVD, you can't actually watch TV (would expect sky tv with English channels as fairly standard nowadays)??

The toilet flush mechanism is broken, it's useable but comes detached from its housing.

The hotel owner came to the apartment and made me aware that our bathroom was leaking into the apartment below. He asked to take a look and take photos so that he could let our apartment owner know where the leak was coming from and have it repaired. I had no problem with this, although a man contacted us the following evening to inform me that he had been in and repaired a leaking tap without us being informed. I attempted to call our apartment owner to let him know that we didn't have a leaking tap and clarify what the problem is but he wasn't available. I then called the apartment cleaner who told me she was in Iceland, she asked her husband to contact me which he did. We arranged for him to come to the apartment the following morning at 10.00am, we waited until 10.45 but he didn't show up....not how you want to spend your time on holiday!

We've tried to speak to the owner now that we've returned to give him the opportunity to rectify the faults in the apartment before we wrote the review but he's not interested in talking to us

Excellent Property

Just returned from a wonderful 5 days in this property. Clean and spacious with everything you need. Situated right near to the beach with stunning views out to sea. Restaurants and Supermarkets close by and a short walk to the strip. Would highly recommend this apartment and the owner Harold was great and contactable if we needed anything.

Stunning appartment, with everything you need.

We stayed here as a family of 3, from 31/8/16 till 11/9/16. We had a wonderful holiday. It was so great sitting on the balcony at night listening to the waves tumbling on the beach. Shops and restaurants was in close proximity. My teenage daughter loved visiting the Chinese shop on the Strip. Very cheap and it stocks all kinds of goodies. The beach is beautiful. We went to zoomarine and the old town, the dolphin show was great. All in all a great holiday, and we would really recommend a stay here. The apartment is very spacious and very well equipped. Thank you Harold.

Great Apartment!

Really enjoyed our stay at this apartment. The pool area was lovely and quiet and the beach was just on the doorstep. It was so lovely to wake up to the sound of the sea. Plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Very steep walk up to the strip, not for the faint hearted. Very clear and helpful communication from Harold on booking and leading up to our trip, made everything so easy. Would recommend this apartment for a lovely relaxing holiday.

The apartment is a minutes stroll from the beach, shops and restaurants.


Faro airport is a short drive of 30 mins. Transport to and from the airport may be arranged. Car hire is not essential as the location is close to all local shops, restaurants and bars. The nearest stop for the local bus service is just up the hill along with the "Road Train"which goes in a circle down to the Old Town via the coast road and back around to the shops and then to the Strip and back to Oura Beach. Taxis are on call and have reasonable rates.
