About Sarah Jackson
Hello, I live in a small village in Oxfordshire with my husband and 3 children. For over 6 years we've been renting chalets at Bovisand and in 2011 an opportunity arose for us to buy one in the perfect location for us. It's our place to be happy and active and relax. Being right on the coast is fantastic and therapeutic and we just hope you enjoy your stay as much as we always do.
Sarah Jackson purchased this chalet in 2011
Why Sarah Jackson chose South Hams
It's our seaside bolthole: the chalet. Even in winter when the coast is at it's starkest we still love it here. There is a wonderful feeling being right by the sea that lets us know we've escaped the rat-race. The children spend hours on the beach and never sleep as well as when they're here.
What makes this chalet unique
It's literally minutes walk to the beaches. We are very lucky to have such wonderful views of Bovisand and a lovely large patio and BBQ area to enjoy them from.
We love walking along the coast the Eddistone Inn for a relaxing lunch then back for a quick 'dip' late afternoon. Though my husband will venture into the sea 'all year round'..
It's just the perfect base to return too if we spend the day either at other beaches, the moors, Cornwall. And should we wish for a more lively evening then the Barbican and theatres and cinemas are just 5 miles away.
We never leave without visiting the seafood restaurant 'Platters', on the Barbican. The fishmarket is literally opposite the restaurant. Even A. Lloyd-Webber said 'it's the best fish I have ever tasted'. And we agree. Fantastic!

A little slice of heaven
This is a beautiful location with breathe taking views. Really enjoyed our stay here. The property is warm and welcoming and beautifully decorated. It had all we needed and was like a home away from home. We would highly recommend it for families or for a couples break away. The location is stunning and we hope to return again.
Immaculate chalet in a perfect setting
We have stayed in this chalet twice now and it never fails to disappoint. It is immaculately presented and beautifully laid out. It is fully equipped with everything you might need down to Tupperware to take your picnic to the beach!
I couldn't recommend it enough - especially when the sun is shining and the view from the terrace is fantastic.
Where do we start? The views from the lounge, the front bedroom and the patio are absolutely stunning. Another thing which struck us was the tranquillity. The only sound to be heard was the wind, the waves and the birds. I usually sleep wearing earplugs, but these turned out to be unnecessary here.
The chalet is well-appointed and great attention has been paid to detail, even including a pair of binoculars which we could use to observe the ships sailing in and out Plymouth Sound. Beds and furniture are comfortable and of good quality. To our surprise, we discovered that the sofas fully reclined! There is also plenty of storage space in the bedrooms. The kitchen is state of the art, as is the bathroom, with a large shower cubicle and a good supply of hot water. We found the chalet spotlessly clean.
We were visiting relatives in Plymouth, which is only a short drive away. The park is also an excellent starting point for coastal walks.
Communication with Sarah went smoothly and pleasantly.
We will definitely be back!
The Best Ever
This property lived up to everything we had read about it, except it was better. Ever little detail had been thought about and certainly was the best holiday rental we have stopped at. The views were unbelievable and we loved to watch all the shipping. The only thing I could suggest is maybe pictures of the interior, as it gives a good idea what the standard of the property. Just fabulous.
