The apartment was completed in 2010 south/east facing with amazing sunrises. It is situated on a hillside overlooking the sea, beaches and town of Collioure which is known as the jewel of the Cote Vermeille. It enjoys not only a beautiful setting but also a great base for exploring the South of France and only a short drive to Spain. Collioure enjoys an all year round mild Mediterranean climate. Steeped in Catalan history.

About Marion Brown

Tom and I took ownership of our apartment in 2010 after falling for the beauty of Collioure and its setting. Looking forward to spending loads of retirement time their and happy to share its benefits with like minded people. Come and see for yourselves!

Collioure is a gem worth finding - there are few of these places left. We travel to Barcelona and drive up or you can fly to Carcassone and drive down or catch the train.

Sometimes a couple of nights in Barcelona and then on up to relax!

Notes on accommodation: Nice secluded spot which benefits from cool sea breezes - air conditioning not required. No smoking. Outside: Sliding patio doors lead to a nice balcony with outdoor table and four chairs, umbrella. Two sun loungers. View of the sea, mountains and town. Beautiful sunrises being east/south facing. Shared pool, not heated, open June to September. Secure garage parking beside apartment. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bedlinen and towels provided. Cleaning for arrival and departure included.

Great find, lovely apartment, great views and location

The apartment was lovely, had everything we needed. We stayed with the two kids so we're worried it would be small but actually was totally fine. The view on the balcony was great to enjoy, drinking wine whilst the kids slept. They loved the pool it was perfect to cool off in the heat, we loved Collioure. Has to be one of the most beautiful places we have visited, great choice of restaurants, loved them Spanish influence and tapas bars. The walk from the apartment to the town was about 15/20 mins with the kids, didn't mind as it was good to get a bit of exercise... definitely not a town I would want to try drive into, parking looked terrible - very busy but it was end of August.

Lovely, clean and bright apartment in Collioure!

We had a great stay here. The apartment is very clean and bright with everything you need. The pool was a real bonus, never very busy, so a really good way to cool down in the heat. The balcony has a lovely view of the coastline and old town and is a lovely place to sit at the end of the day!

The walk into town takes approx 10/15mins, and although it's a climb on the way home, most places in Collioure have this as it's pretty hilly.

We travelled with our 2 sons (13 and 11) and I would say that the apartment would probably best suit 2 people. Wasn't a major issue for us as we were in and out most of the day, but space is quite tight in the lounge.

Overall a very enjoyable stay in a beautiful part of the world!

Just came back to the colder Denmark after an amazing holiday in Collioure and the adventure seeking surroundings which it had to offer.

There is everything and more then 14 days of holiday could provide of time and after an exciting day of new experience it was so nice to come home to this for us perfect appartment.

Yes it was a little away from the center and the walk back was a little steep but the end result and the price of the view from the balcony was totally worth it. Our 5 year old son said that it helped with the walk home if you sang all the way home, so he did multiple times :)

It was amazing to wake early one morning and see the sun coming up over the ocean from the balcony.

Everything in the appartment met more then our expectations. If i should mention one thing it have to be the "sharp" knifes which annoyed me alot, but that have to go under the category of a luxary problem :)

We managed to visit the amazing city of Cadaques in spain which we can highly recommend to visit going south through the winding mountain roads along the ocean. Also worth a day trip is to visit the city in the mountains to the west called Prats-de-Mollo-la-Preste. Visit the old 1000 year old fort on the mountain top and go through the hidden tunnel from the cemetery. We found it afterwards so my son and I walked down from the fort through the tunnel.

All in all we had an amazing time in the South of France, Collioure and the appartment and would go back tomorrow if i could.

Ps. The pool is perfect and got our sons approval of a 100% pure joy :)

Great flat, very clean and comfortable.

We really enjoyed our stay, loved watching dawn ever morning from the well furnished terrace.Very quiet area and yet near the busy town with lots going on.We loved the area so much to do we would like to visit again maybe next year

Lovely, well equipped apartment.

Apartment on arrival was very clean and welcoming. Our children (teenagers) used the sofa bed and all linens, etc were ready for us to make this up when we arrived. Also a bottle of wine , which was an added bonus!! Lovely view from the balcony and walkable distance into Colllioure, which is a truly beautiful place. The walk back is steep in parts, this didn't bother us though, in fact it felt good to walk off the wonderful food we had eaten in the superb restaurants . We were sad to leave after our week here , but hope to return again in the future and would definitely recommend a stay in this apartment . Marion was very efficient to deal with and gave excellent information on how to find apartment . All in all a super holiday.

Location

Special interest holidays:

Tennis courts 5 minutes walk.

Coast/Beach:

Collioure has a number of small individual beaches both pebble and sand to choose from and have clearly marked safe swimming areas and lifeguards in season. They are usually never crowded and offer something for everyone. Approximately 10 minutes walk.

Travel:

Collioure's train station is within walking distance of the apartment. There are

a number of flight options Perpignan (40 mins), Carcassonne (90 mins) Girona (1hour 20 mins) and Barcelona El Prat (2hrs. 30 mins). A car is not essential with the nearby train station and local 1 Euro bus which travels between Perpignan and Cerbere but if you have one there are many interesting and beautiful places to visit.

Distances:

It is about 1 km. to the town centre and beaches with a private footpath leading from the apartment. Collioure is surrounded with many beautiful and interesting towns including Perpignan and Carcassonne. The beach towns of St. Cyprien Plage, Argeles-sur-Mer. Port Vendres is within walking distance. Visit the Spanish towns of Barcelona, Girona, Figueres with the Salvador Dali museum, Cadaques, - all beautiful and of course Andorra and the Pyrenees. All within driving distance.

Further Details:

Collioure has become a favourite tourist haunt on the Mediterranean which has not lots it's old world charm - known as a city of painters. The natural inlet shows the Chateau Royal in all it's magnificence with the famour belfry sharing this unique majestic setting. The imposing Forts of Sante-Elme, Miradou, and the Madeloc Tower and the inimitable lighting effects inspired Matisse and Derain whose work can be seen throughout the picturesque streets of Collioure. Enjoy the mountain trekking or leisurely strolls through vineyards and cliff walks. The little yellow train meanders through the local vineyards past the forts to Port Vendres and should not be missed. Every day there are local markets in the surrounding villages and in Collioure on a Wednesday and Sunday. Sample the beautiful Collioure wines. Enjoy the local Festivals - the fireworks are a must see. There are shops, boutiques and numerous cafes , bars and restaurants to enjoy. Taste and buy anchovies in the specialist shops.
