About the Owner

Hello holiday hunters, we fell in love with Fowey about 10 years ago when we bought our first holiday home, Izzyminx Seaview. We caught the Fowey bug and decided to expand and bought Izzyminx Captains Lodge and Izzyminx Harbour House. All our places needed some renovations which has taken a lot of hard work, time and effort, but have been well worth it. We live in Fowey in the winter and go travelling in our camper van during the summer. We love Fowey, love our places and hope you will too. Please ask any questions and we will be happy to help. A peaceful and private haven

We were so relaxed in this house as it's in such a quiet area.Thankyou Julie so much for letting us take our little dog Molly.She loved playing with her ball in the well secured garden and we didn't have to worry about her getting out.The house was very spacious and clean with many kitchen gadgets needed where a lot of other rentals fail to supply.It had the feeling of being well looked after with the priority being on the guests' needs and what a good idea of the extra key;it takes the worry our of being locked out.The only thing I would add would be a shower in the upstairs bathroom but it wasn't a problem to borrow the one in the beautiful ensuite downstairs which led onto the well kept garden.Thanks once again Julie and when we visit Fowey again we will certainly see if you are available first.All our best wishes,Sharon and family

great property

we found this house fantastic in a good location. It was the best equipped property we have stayed at and has plenty of space, the conservatory is great for reading as it has a day bed to relax. Would recommend to all although access to the town is by steep walk it doesnt take long though and there was a bus that dropped you back at the end of the road from the town centre. Fowey is a lovely village with great pubs and bars would defo visit again.A+++++++

It's in a residential area at top of hill. Car parking for 3-4 cars which is perfect for Fowey. Some decor was a bit old fashioned and some needs refurbishment but in general a spacious , well equipped house ( we had 6 adults and a toddler). The utility was appreciated. The upstairs bathroom has a hand held shower but the views from the main bedroom compensated.

Location

From the Owner

Fowey (pronounced Foy) is a lovely old fishing village full of character with many narrow streets, lots of lovely eating places, watering holes, groovy shops and art galleries. Fowey is more a sailing port in recent years and has a large sailing community passing through which gives the place a buzz all year round. If you like places with lots of character, culture, good food, beer and company, this is the place or you.

Activity and Interests

Special interest holidays:

Gardens - The Fowey area is especially good for visiting gardens - The Eden Project (10 minutes), The Lost Gardens of Heligan (40 minutes) and Lanhydrock (10 minutes).

Sailing - Two sailing clubs in Fowey.

Surfing - Only 40 minutes from the north coast for surfing.

Golfing - A great choice of golf courses within 20 minutes drive.

Fishing - Trips organised from Fowey.

Coast/Beach:

Little Whitehouse beach about 2 minutes walk, great for short dog walk in the morning.

Readymoney beach is about 10 minutes walk, ideal for kids with loos and ice cream van.

Lovely sandy beach at Polkeris ideal for kids with café & loos. Big sandy beach at Par – Dog friendly all year round. Secluded beaches just a water taxi away.

Travel:

Train - Train service between Penzance and London Paddington stops at Par which is about 10 minutes taxi ride.

Bus – Number 25 bus goes to Par station (free car park) to Fowey and drops at the Safe Harbour Pub which is about 7 minutes walk.
