Apartment in Kalkan Town, Turkey - Peaceful Location, 15 Min Walk To Kalkan Town Centre

The apartment is very spacious and filled with light, it has a large shared pool and private pool side area with sun beds, our own personal mattresses and parasols.It is just 10 minutes walk to the Kalamar beach club and there are restaurants, bars and supermarkets close by. The nearest restaurant is the popular Cafe Vita which is two minutes away. The apartment has a lovely downstairs open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room. Upstairs the bedroom is simply and tastefully decorated. It is a 10 min drive to Kaputas Beach and 15 min drive to Patara Beach, which is 18km long and backs onto Roman and Greek ruins.

About Andrew / Angela Sapsford

Hi we are Angela and Andy Sapsford and we live in Dorset. I Work for Social Care and my husband is an electrician. We have four children between us who have now fled the nest and are following their chosen career paths.

We spend all of our holidays in Kalkan, where we have made many friends, and have really fallen in love with the place. We would also like to give other people the opportunity to experience for themselves what a wonderful place Kalkan really is.

We visited Kalkan for the first time five years ago to celebrate my birthday. I brought all of my family including my elderly parents, and had the best holiday ever.We all fell in love with Kalkan and some of the most beautiful views we have ever seen. Kalkan is well known for its delicious food in lots of good restaurants with great value for money.The people are so warm and friendly they can't do enough for you.There is a harbour and cobbled streets to walk through with numerous shops. A visit to the Thursday market is a must to buy local produce or to get a good bargain on clothes, jewelry and leather goods.

What makes this apartment unique

The pool and gardens are beautifully maintained, it is quiet area with supermarkets, bars and restaurants near by. As you look out over the balconies and terrace you will experience the wonderful views of the sea and mountains of Kalkan. Kalamar beach club is a 6 min walk away where you can just relax or enjoy the water sports that is available and enjoy refreshments from their restaurant.

Your apartment is so comfy, home from home. We have never felt so relaxed. The holiday went very quickl!! We were out of the apartment most of the days visiting some great places. Lots of good restaurants near by spolt for choice. Thanks again we had a lovely time and would love to book again.

Notes on accommodation: This is a no smoking apartment. We would request that smokers kindly smoke in the outside areas. Ash trays are provided. Outside: The apartment is set in attractive and well maintained mature gardens with a large shared swimming pool surrounded by sun loungers and umbrellas. The apartment has its own private roof terrace off the main bedroom, furnished with table and chairs.There are two balconies off the lounge, one of which over looks the pool and is also furnished with table and chairs, and one on the side. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bedlinen, bathroom/beach towels provided. The property will be cleaned on a weekly basis, bed linen/towels changed on a weekly basis. For all guests a welcome pack and meet and greet at the complex on arrival. Other: Free WiFi access available.

Amazing stay!

We had such an amazing experience, enjoyed every moment. I've stayed in Kalkan 5 5 times over the past years and the freedom the apartment gave us was just what we needed! Beautiful rooms and great balconys, we are already thinking about when we can return! Thank you.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3rd stay in Kalkan, this time just the two of us, in this lovely one bed apartment.

It was exceedingly comfortable, light and airy, very peaceful and a real home from home. The pictures on Owner's Direct did not do it justice; it was far more spacious than it looked on the website.

As mentioned by other reviewers, we had the large shared pool to ourselves, excepting a couple of afternoons with a pleasant French lady.

The plus point for us was the choice of outside space, especially the balcony leading from the living area, the very private roof terrace off from the bedroom and of course, the pool area with its carefully tended gardens.

The apartment was very close to Cafe Vita and Aqua with a small supermarket sandwiched between so very convenient to be able to nip up the road, and Yelken Restaurant is within an easy stroll.

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the apartment to our friends and family and look forward to our return in the very near future.

Thank you Angela and Andrew for providing the perfect base for a superb holiday!

What a lovely apartment

We loved this apartment, lovely pool, plenty of room, well equipped, very comfortable and a bit out of town so very quiet apart from the cockerel who seemed to be very confused about when morning was.

The walk into the old town is about 20 minutes and there are a couple of hills but it was fine and did not bother us at all, but taxis seem cheap enough. The nearby beach club is worth a visit. We did not have one bad meal in Kalkan, but some to recommend are Alernativ, and Moussaka in the old town and Cafe Vita and the brothers near the apartment. Also the Turkish Ocakbashi on the way into town is ver reasonable and so friendly.

Would definitely recommend both this apartment and Kalkan in General. We also hired a scooter and went to Kas, well worth a visit, and Xanthos and Patana beach and ruins, and went to Saklikent gorge following the instructions in the guest book, lovely drive, but the gorge was closed for some kind of repair so we went to the waterfall 2 km further which is also worth a visit as it is free but you may need to hire the shoes at 3 lira, if you only have flip flops it could be a bit tricky.

Exceptional Holiday!

This was our first visit to Kalkan, and we will certainly return. The apartment was very modern, and clean will all the essentials you need. The pool area was also clean, and very quiet, some days we were the only one's sunbathing which was perfect for the relaxing holiday we were hoping for. The booking of the holiday, and dealings with both Angela and Sharon - who sorted the airport transfers, and also came to visit us, and give us some tips on what to see and do made the whole process very easy! The restaurants in Kalkan are wonderful, a lot of them are rooftop, which makes the who experience extra special. We enjoyed a lovely boat trip out to visit the sunken city, highly recommended. We also had a trip out to Fethiye to visit the very large market there, we used the local bus service for this, again, a great day out if you enjoy haggling for bargains! We would both like to than Angela and Andrew once again for the perfect stay in their apartment.

The Perfect Getaway

It was our first visit to Turkey and we would definitely visit again. The apartment was modern and spacious and well maintained, facilities included a quiet private pool area in well tended gardens with scenic views. Situated within a 15 minute walk from the main town, Kalkan boasts a variety of shops and restaurants which cater for various tastes. If you didn't fancy the walk Cafe Vita situated at the top of the road provided great food and a friendly service and was one of my favourites. The Dolmus (a small mini bus) is a cheap and great way to travel around, we visited Kas which takes a 45 minute coastal route with a return ticket costing 12tl which is roughly £3.42. The local market held on a Thursday is definitely worth a visit along with a trip to the stunning beach at Patara which is located in the National Park.

I would definitely recommend the apartment and its location, it was the perfect place to relax and unwind in the day with plenty of restaurants to try in the evening, a really enjoyable holiday.

Kalkan has a small pebble beach, which is a 15 minute walk away. Kaputas beach is a 10 minute drive, this is a beautiful but small beach with no facilities and around 100 steps down. Patara beach is around 15 minute drive away, this is a stunning long stretch of sandy beach that goes on for miles. Sun loungers and umbrellas are available for hire in certain areas and there is a small snack bar. There is a small admission fee approx 5-7 TL due to it being part of an archaeological site.


The nearest airport is Dalaman and the transfer takes approximately 1 hour 40 minutes by car. Kalkan can also be reached by Antalya airport and transfers from here take approximately 3 hours. There are several reliable local companies for airport transfers and we can give further details if required. Car hire is available but not necessary as the apartment is in easy walking distance of all Kalkan's amenities. For travelling further afield there are regular bus/dolmus services and taxis.


Within a half hour drive there are five major historical sites - Patara, Xanthos, Letoon, Pinara and Sidyma. Kas, a bustling coastal resort with great beaches and a lively market every Friday, is a twenty five minute drive away. Saklikent gorge is a 45 min drive away. The largest market in the region is in Fethiye every Tuesday, and this is an hour from Kalkan on the bus. There is also a market every Thursday in Kalkan town which is approx 15-20 min walk from the apartment.

Further Details:

The property is a very easy walk to all of Kalkan’s shops and services, as well as its large array of bars, cafés and restaurants, which cater to practically every budget and taste from a simple Turkish breakfast to gourmet international cuisine. For guests who wish to eat in on some evenings, there are well-stocked supermarkets, as well as good local butchers, greengrocers and patisseries. The nearby Cafe Vita restaurant also has a takeaway service and will deliver. The bus station and local Thursday market are a short stroll away, as are the post office and banking facilities, which are the best places to exchange your currency.
