About the property

Village House in Torrox Pueblo, Near Nerja Costa Del Sol, Spain - Good Access To Local Amenities

In a traditional Spanish village the house stands at the upper edge of the pueblo. This lovely dwelling has the benefit of easy parking, good access to local amenities including the bakery and fresh produce practically sold from the door step. From the terrace you can watch how life goes by in a tranquil atmosphere.

Walking ,painting & photograghy in Andalusia has proved very popular and our location is ideal during the cooler months.

About Colin Jeffrey

I have lived in Spain for the last 8yrs and love the place so much.Self employed UK trained electrician for over 25yrs. In between my work I invest my time enthusiastically in my partners rentals on the management and care taking.

in my leisure time I entertain at Local Restaurants & Hotels

Colin Jeffrey purchased this house in 2002

Why Colin Jeffrey chose Axarquia (Costa del Sol)

Is an area visited before and liked the fact it was "real Spain" the people around are very freindly and the village has a real caring feel. Its an easy 45- 60 min drive from the airport and now has even better motorway links, including Granada. the area has grown and developed in a very positive way without any loss of charm. As well as the obvious attractions of the beach and mountains it should not be over looked that we are just less than 2 hours away from ski ing in the Sierra Nevada. Also very popular with hikers / walkers & cyclists who use this location as a base.

The advantage of this self catering property is its convenient location for amenities without the hustle & bustle.

What makes this house unique

There is something quite lovely about sitting on the roof terrace relaxing in the sun overlooking the sea and mountain veiws. We also benefit from using the 4 person jacuzzi whether in the sun or bathing at dusk , having the benefit of two sunbathing areas through out the day and for the none sun worshiper two out door sitting areas.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi colin & liz, just to thank you for all you did in making our holiday in torrox a pleasure - pick up at airport was a godsend especially the cold refreshments en-route you supplied.

we love the town it had all we needed for a relaxing break, your town house was more than we expected, comfortable clean and well located. Roof top terrace an absolute sun trap and most wonderful panoramic views over town and mountains! Complimented by huge hot tub (we used cold not hot) to relax and cool down, hse exuip with all we needed and fab shop right opposite the door. Can recommend la plaza restaurant fab 7 x tappas and bottle wine 10 euro. Hope to visit again soon.

Town House ideally situated opposite a small supermarket. The nearby car park should only be approached from the 3rd entrance as the 1st whilst very close is a tight fit for unwary drivers>Me!.The house has 4 fans but would benefit from air con, maybe on a meter. The hot tub takes 2 euro coin only .The kitchen was well furnished and you do not need too many clothes as there is a washing machine ,ironing board and fresh air drying!.The double bed was so comfy We could have sent it home.Bathroom upstairs perfect for nocturnal visits from both bedrooms! Never head the street cleaners due to café solo and cognac at the 3 nearby tapas bars. The walk into the main square was effortless even for two 70 plus pensionersWe met Colin and felt we had known him for ages .All in all the best place to stay in Torrox Pueblo. We have stayed on the outskirts before but this is the best location. Will return 2018

Owner's Response: "Wow" that's a lovely response, thank you very much.We have taken on board reference to air conditioning ,we have considered installation in past .questionably if electrical supply would cope as power management has to be used to avoid nuisance tripping.possible installation of ceiling fans would be an improvement than our floor standin ones. Look forward to seeing you both in New Year Colin & Liz

Absolutely Perfect

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this lovely house for 10 days recently while we looked for our own house to buy in Torrox, and it was just perfect. Set over three floors, the house is absolutely charming, with lots of space for 6 people. For the sun worshippers the top terrace is just perfect as it gets the sun all day, with beautiful views down to the sea, while the middle terrace has plenty of shade for those of us who don't like to bake!

The beds are comfortable, the kitchen very well equipped and the hot tub perfect after a warm day. It is very peaceful and quiet (we woke to the sound of bird song, cockerels and goat bells every morning) but is a gentle stroll down to the main plaza. On the way you will pass local bars and the older ladies of the village selling their fruit and veg at the front door.

Opposite the house is a fab little mini-market selling everything you could need - they have a delicatessen, .meat counter, fruit, fresh bread and plenty of wine! Perfect for nipping out in the morning or late at night.

We loved our stay, loved the house and Colin and Liz were perfect hosts. Nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel very welcome. For example, as we arrrived quite late on the Sunday, and the Monday was a Bank Holiday, Liz left us some food and wine to keep us going until the shops re-opened on the Tuesday. Incredibly thoughtful and very much appreciated.

Thank you Liz and Colin. We will be back! 😊

The ideal holiday home ....

  • 5 of 5

Just come back from spending 12 days here and loved every minute.

I'm spending time on this review when I don't normally do reviews .. the holiday that I have just had deserves this.

House - has all the facilities you need and more. The roof terrace is a great size and having our own private jacuzzi that we could dip into when we wanted was a great luxury. The back of the house has it's own 'courtyard' that is near-private. The coloured light you can change whilst eating an evening meal is a nice touch.

Location - in torrox pueblo, a small village that is 'original spain' that does not have many tourists. torrox costa with it's beach and bars is only 10 mins away by car and there are regular buses.

Owners - a lovely couple that can't do enough to help.

Thank you very much Colin and Liz for an ideal holiday home to stay at. I will no doubt be returning next year if not sooner!

Quiet, relaxing break

  • 5 of 5

We were pleasantly surprised by the size (not to mention quirkiness!) of the property. The photos really don't do it justice. The villa had everything we needed to be a home from home. Colin and Liz were so welcoming and helpful. As we arrived during Easter celebrations, the shops were shut so Liz offered to do our shopping for us! Everything we had asked for was there waiting for us upon our arrival, along with some delicious bread and sausages that Liz had made with her own fair hands! As promised, Torrox Pueblo gives you a taste of the 'real', non-touristy Spain. It is a very quiet village and you can walk from one end to the other and hardly see anyone! Everyone we did meet was very welcoming, although their English was, understandably, not as good as in more touristy areas. You'll need to walk down to the main square to mingle with other people/ holidaymakers. We loved having such a quiet, chilled holiday where we were left to our own devices. Thank you so much, Colin and Liz for your hospitality! Highly recommended!

Quaint village house

  • 5 of 5

It was a pleasure for are much needed break. The pic's don't do it justice.Very spacious and private. Bob & I were greeted by Colin & Liz to make sure everything was ok.The local shop was was bonus and only a short walk to car park and bars & restaurants on the way and to the main Plaza. Recommend La Plaza for tapas and bottle of wine €10 enough for 2 persons.

Hope to come back in New year.
