Property

Updated: 28-Nov-2016
Cottage in Grassington, Upper Wharfedale, Yorkshire Dales

Gregory View is situated on a quiet lane just off the the centre of Grassington. It is a conversion of a 17th Century barn and has lots of original features with a real home from home feeling. There is a large wood burning stove in the living room. There are two bedrooms upstairs - a double and a twin room. It has been fully renovated in 2011 and now offers a wonderful place to stay in this most popular of Yorkshire villages.

Absolutely Perfect Yorkshire Dales getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four (kids 11 and 12) spent almost a week at Gregory Cottage in lovely Grassington - what a fabulous treat! The cottage has been lovingly restored and is well maintained. The set-up was ideal for our family with warm bedrooms and the bath upstairs and a charming common area and kitchen on the main level. Parking seems like it could be a challenge, but we were able to get a spot a few meters away every night we were there (one night with the valiant assistance of the neighbor!). The village itself is quintessential Yorkshire, with cobbled streets, great restaurants and pubs (Forresters Arms is a family-favorite!) and the views are awe-inspiring. We set off in all four cardinal directions for exploring and every day was an adventure ending with this welcoming accommodation. We should add that we had let the owner Christopher know of our interests and plans and he had taken special care to make sure we felt welcome and "cared for". After our week in The Dales, the family was unanimous - we will return to this wonderful home in Grassington on our next trip.

A lovely cottage in a lovely village

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was clean, with nice welcoming touches of fire wood, wine, flowers & milk.

Great location, close to the high street, but still very quite. Lots of walks possible, straight from the door.

Well equipped kitchen, CD's, DVD's & books.

Definitely recommended.

Exelent !!

  • 5 of 5

We loved the cottage, it was everything we needed for our holiday. although I must admit my wife found the double bed a bit soft for her taste. It was so cosy with the log burner going in the evening. The little kitchen was well appointed and had everything we needed should we wish to cook.

We loved the village too, very friendly indeed. I would recommend it to all and everybody! We had and needed a lazy time so did not get out much, but the countryside around the village was indeed stunning and there was loads to see.

Thank you for the milk, wine, and flowers. a spotless and very well kept cottage thoughtfully appointed throughout.

Thanks again,

Guy Bryan

A lovely cosy cottage.

  • 5 of 5

We were delighted with the property and its location in Grassington.Everything we needed was provided and thoughtful extras of milk, fresh flowers and a bottle of wine and other items made us fell very at home. We contacted Chris the owner about a couple of things and he got back to us straight away and was very helpful. We would highly recommend this cottage and will return!
