About Mark Carter

We live in Norfolk with 2 boys, Max & Jedd! My wife originally from Durban, South Africa has always hankered after a home closer to the sea, whilst schools, work and friends keep us in Norfolk for the time being, we have been fortunate enough to be able to buy our Newquay pad and look forward to spending as much time there as possible.

We wanted to be close to the beach, with good amenities, surfing, and access to all that the South West has to offer, Newquay is an excellent holiday location with lots to do and see in and around the area, good access to shops and lots of good pubs, bars and restaurants to sample.

19 Ocean Gate, is a fantastic luxury apartment, only a few minutes from Fistral Beach and Newquay Golf course. The apartment is also only 10 minutes walk from Newquay town centre if you fancy some nightlife.

Special interest holidays:

The main attraction is of course the surfing. Fistral Beach is well known as one of the best surfing beaches in Europe, and as such the surfing community is well served with surf schools, hire and shopping. We are also able to offer surfing equipment that can be purchased from www.boardology.co.uk (please ask for details) and delivered directly to the apartment next day.

The prestigious Newquay Golf course is right in front of the apartment and is open to visitors, or why not try a spot of sea fishing, with organised sea fishing excursions.



The apartment is a 5 minutes walk from Fistral Beach, you don't even have to leave the apartment to see what the surf is like!, and Newquay's other beaches are also all close by.


Newquay Airport is about 7 miles from the apartment and takes 15 to 20 minutes by car.

Newquay Train Station is 1.5 miles from the apartment or 5 minutes in a cab.

You can easily get around Newquay without a car, but to get out and explore Cornwall a car is recommended.


10 minute walk to Newquay town centre, there is a 'corner' shop right behind the apartments which is well stocked with the basics in case you run out of something. The apartment is also close to to Asda, and Sainsbury's supermarkets , and Morrison's is only a 10 minute drive.

Outside: The grounds are well kept, the apartment has its own balcony with views out over Newquay Golf course to Fistral beach, The property has one secure underground parking space, lock up storage cage for surfboards and wetsuits, and the property also benefits from access to a communal roof terrace to watch those fantastic sunsets. Utility Room: Separate utility room with Washer/ drier, iron and ironing board, drier rack, etc. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels and linen are provided except beach towels which can be provided on request for a small additional fee. The apartment is cleaned once per booking, when all towels and linen are changed, a mid-stay linen change can be arranged by request.

We had a fantastic stay in Ocean Gate. The apartment is beautiful and has everything needed for a comfortable self catering holiday. It is just a short walk into the town centre and to Fistral beach. We really enjoyed watching the sunset from the balcony - amazing views!

What a fabulous apartment, very comfortable and the views are to die for, we had a wonderful time and everything was fantastic for my daughter's wedding, I had family come over from the USA and they were very impressed with the facilities of the apartment, beds very comfy as well.

Booking Notes:
Please contact the owner by email to book, or log on to www.19oceangate.com to reserve and book your holiday.
Please check rates published on our web site only bookings made through our web site will be valid.
A 30% deposit is required to secure the booking, which can be paid via cheque (booking will be held until the cheque is cleared and we charge a £5 surcharge for personal cheques), via bank transfer, or electronic invoice.
We also hold a £250 security deposit due one week before arrival and refunded as soon as we have verified no damage or breakages.

Changeover Day:
During High Season the apartment is only available for full weeks, change-over day is Saturday, arrival no earlier than 15:30, check out by 10:30. Other times the apartment can be rented for shorter breaks check www.19oceangate.com for details.

Where the minimum stay is less than 7 nights the daily rate is calculated at 1/5 of the weekly rate. Beach Towels can be provided for and additional £10 per stay, price includes 4 beach towels. A Cot and high chair is available for hire for £15 per item per stay.
