Villa With Private Pool, And Spectacular Views Of The Troodos Mountains

Overview

Property

Updated: 23-Nov-2016
Villa in Kathikas, Paphos, Cyprus - Totaly Secluded Location, A short walk To The Village Of Kathikas

Heddfan (Welsh for peaceful place) perches high above the grapevines near the unspoiled village of Kathikas which is famous for its two Wineries and excellent local restaurants. Superb scenery, wonderful night-time skies, and a silence only broken by the Cicadas, makes Heddfan the perfect place to chill by the pool. 700 metres above sea level Kathikas can be some 5C cooler than the coastal areas, and often also enjoys a refreshing breeze. A blessing in the months of July and August. The poolside garden is an attractive enclosed, paved area which takes full advantage of the magnificent views. Restaurants, bars, ten-pin bowling, go-carting, golf, fishing, boat trips, water sports, horse riding, walking, tennis etc are all nearby.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The house is built in traditional country style, not typical holiday Villa style and is very comfortable, spacious, and extremely well equipped. We particularly liked the conservatory/dining room which overlooks the pool area.

Probably the most striking feature of Heddfan is the amazing view across the vineyard and into the valley below.

The pool is huge and shallow at one end, so great for small children, but plenty deep enough at the other to be great fun for older children and adults.

Near the pool and at the edge of the property is a gazebo built from natural stone. This is just the best place in the world to sit with a cold drink and take in the fantastic views.

Kathikas is charming. It has a number of really excellent restaurants and a couple of bars. We found the quality of the food to be first class and the prices very reasonable. Andrew Alison

Breathtaking, Peaceful, Relaxing, Tranquil

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at Heddfan having stayed here the same time last year. It is for the above reasons why we booked again. We were met by Anita, a cheerful and extremely helpful lady who collected us from the airport. Upon arrival nothing had changed as it was as beautiful and delightful a place as we remembered.

Having done the 'touristy' bit last year we concentrated on exploring the local area of Kathikas and the vineyards which surround the villa. We also ate in the village most evenings as it boasts several very good restaurants which other villages of its size locally cannot offer. We frequently visited the 'Kathikas Inn' run by Paul who is a very hospitable landlord and always there to assist with local knowledge.

With regards to the villa itself, it was impeccably clean with all appliances and services you would have at your own home. It really is a home from home with the added bonus of fabulous weather and scenery.

It was wonderful to see the neighbours Lucy and Tom who once again provided us with their home grown produce of tomato's, fruit and eggs.

so, if you want hustle and bustle with restaurants offering fry ups and Sunday dinners go to Benidorm. However, if you are looking for somewhere where you can relax, unwind in a beautiful villa, overlooking fabulous scenery that the Trudos mountains offer then the perfect location is Heddfan. I promise you you will not be disappointed.

Thank you Lynne and Richard for sharing your wonderful home with us again.

Heaven on earth

Where to begin.......?

We have been on many holidays from all inclusives at 5 star hotels to a fortnight in a caravan overlooking a beautiful sandy beach. But without doubt our time spent at Heddfan was the pinacle of all holidays.

It's beautiful location which overlooks vineyards, valleys and the Troodos mountain range will have you standing and staring for hours. If peace and quiet is your thing then this absolutely stunning villa and location will have you returning year after year. I honestly defy you to find a better location to unwind and recharge your flat batteries.

Lynne and Richard have created an idle of the highest quality and a real home from home for visitors. The villa is beautifully furnished inside and out with family photographs proudly displayed which give you a warm and welcoming feeling as if you are now part of the family and not just a customer.

This isn't simply a villa that people flit in and out of every week or so, that has no feeling or identity, this is a home and is your home for the time you will spend there.

The outside space with its beautiful pool and pergola allow you total privacy with uninterrupted views that will take your breath away leaving you with wonderful memories.

We spent a fabulous evening being hosted by the neighbours Tom and Lucy who were extremely kind and welcoming. They don't come as part of the package obviously but this just shows how Heddfan really is like a home from home.

We clearly LOVED our holiday at this villa and cannot rate Heddfan highly enough.

We will without doubt be returning in 2016 yet a part of us wants to keep this little gem to ourselves ! But Lynne and Richard have such a beautiful home which they share with us and they really do deserve the highest of reviews.

Thank you for sharing you home and for giving us simply the best two weeks we have ever had.

Julie and Ian

A Wonderful Venue for a Family Holiday

  • 5 of 5

The first thing to say about this villa is that it is a family home, not the purpose built holiday venue that you so often find in holiday resorts. The owners live here many months each year and it shows. The facilities available both inside and outside the house are typical of what you would find in a family home, all in good working order and all made available to visitors. The house is in a really quiet spot, with a few very friendly neighbours, and we were able to swim and BBQ to our hearts content having a fabulous time without disturbing anyone. The home is spacious and very comfortable and didn't feel at all cramped as a party of 4 adults and 4 young boys.

The setting is wonderful both in terms of position and the surrounding area. The towns of Pafos and Polis both provide excellent shopping and are a mere 15-20 minutes away. The nearby beaches are easily reached and very safe for youngsters. There is much to do and see, and the local eating facilities, even in a small village like Kathikas, cater for all tastes with prices for all pockets.

The owners were easy to deal with and very accommodating in all respects and have a very good 'on the spot' manager available to answer any questions, and address any shorter problems that arise. The whole set-up was truly excellent in all respects, far better than one might dare to hope for on what is really a 'blind date' venue.

We all agreed at the end of our stay that we couldn't think how any of it, the house, the area, the facilities, could be bettered in terms of what we were looking for - a super family holiday. If you are looking for nightlife, crowded bars, lots of boisterous activity, forget it; this is not the place for you.

A memorable experience

  • 5 of 5

Having decided to move from another villa on the coast which had become rather noisier than we had anticipated, we were delighted to be able to rent this villa , at very short notice. "Heddfan"- the Welsh for "peaceful place". - lived up to every expection but the views were even more remarkable than the pictures show. Indeed the house delivers far more than it promises. This is an extremely well equipped villa (especially so if you are interested in cooking, indoors or out) and it offers every comfort as well as good technology. A fine swimming pool is set in an unusually well-furnished outdoor piazza overlooking miles of hills, mountains and valleys. The local village, Kathikas, is a delight with some outstanding restaurants and, of course, there are copious vineyards in the vicinity, one literally next door. Heddfan is very well serviced by a local agent who is only too ready to help and advise. The owners were a pleasure to deal with and the environment proved perfect for a totally relaxing holiday. We were only able to spend a week here - the regret is that it wasn't a month!

A tranquil place

  • 5 of 5

Heddfan certainly easily translates into a tranquil place. Superb hillside setting, with mountain, valley and sea views, yet always catching a cooling breeze. Close to amenities at Kathikas village, including several excellent restaurants. All good. Lynne and Richard made booking easy. The house is presented and maintained to a very high standard, with everything you need on hand. Clever design means that the house keeps cool, even during hot and humid times. We have stayed in many places near Kathikas over the years - this by far is the best.
