We went to Port Duquesa and was pleasantly surprised, the area is really lovely. I thought it was going to be a little over British but it wasn't, it still had lots of Spanish charm. We stayed in Las Buganvillas and had a great stay. The apartment was in the hill behind Duquesa and that was great as you were away from the hussle and bussle. The complex was small and peaceful and the pool area was stunning. We were a young family and it was perfect for the kids to play by the pool and we felt totally safe. The toddler pool was great for our youngest. The apartment itself was clean and modern and had everything there we could possibly need. We had a great stay and we would highly recommend and hopefully we shall be going back some time soon.

Hi there my wife son and I just spend a wonderful week in the apartment, it's proximity to Gibraltar was important to us, but I wasn't expecting the place to be so nice, the rooms were large and very clean, plenty of bedding and towels all provided. All the amenities you would expect in the kitchen and more , the dishwasher and washing machine was a god send :) - The pool was lovely, clean and plenty of sun beds

The views was delightful and the surrounding areas nice; quiet and peaceful, as I hired a car I was especially impressed with the underground car parking, no more boiling hot car seats for us !

If there was a down side or a slight annoyance it would be in in-house entertainment, there was loads of DVD's about the place but no DVD player ! -- but that was only minor, we didn't go all that way to watch TV and we had our own technology.

All in all a very nice place and I do hope I can stop there again next year.

Wonderful Apartment!!

We stay in this apartment last summer July 2014 and it was a lovely surprise. The apartment was beautiful and well kitted out, the furnishings were really lovely too and very spacious. There was nothing we needed within the apartment.

Outside was great for the family by the pool, we have a toddler and the pool area was great, all enclosed with gates and a toddler pool which was lovely and safe.

We hired a car so could get about easy and go see the coat a little more. But even if we didn't the apartment was pretty much close to all things, supermarket, beach, bank etc.

Overall I would really recommend a stay here, a very memorable stay!

Location

I love Peurto De La Duquesa! when I first visited I thought it was the prettiest place, it's such a lovely area, the port is very peaceful and not commercialised like many of the ports along the coast. It's a little hidden treasure. It's got some fantastic restaurants, bars and cafes and it's just so relaxing to sit and look out over the water and the boats. The weather is also brilliant! We bought the apartment back in 2003 so we could enjoy the area and have some lovely family holidays. We visit often and think of Duquesa as a second home now.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Gibraltar at 8 Miles Nearest Golf : Duqussa Golf at 200 Metres Nearest Beach : Castillio at 400 Metres

Coast/Beach:

Puerto De La Duquesa is a gorgeous 20 minutes stroll down the hill and along the pretty sea front and beach. Once there the Puerto has some lovely bars and restaurants to enjoy throughout your stay. The sandy beach of Sabinillas is also only 5 minutes walk from the apartment down a small hill and across a road with bridge access.

Travel:

Nearest airport is Gibraltar - 20 minutes by car. Malaga is 50 mins by car. Car hire is highly recommended as there are so many sights to see along the coast and inland.

If you type into Google Maps 'Calle de la Esmeralda, Manilva, Spain' or copy http://goo.gl/maps/LrWh you will see where exactly our apartment is situated. The apartment is 20 minutes walk to Puerto De La Duquesa, 4-5 minutes to the sandy beaches of Castillo and 20 minutes drive to Marbella and the famous Peurto Banus.

Further Details:

At the bottom of the road 4 minutes walk there are two lovely supermarkets, (I prefer Eroski). They are very comprehensive and have gorgeous fresh fish, cheeses and hams. A lovely fish and chip shop is also located above the supermarket and a Japanese restaurant.

Small shops, restaurants, pubs, disco, café, internet café, harbour, market, board walk only walking distance away.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: The apartment is fully air conditioned (hot & cold) making it perfect for families. Outside: There is a balcony off the lounge and double bedroom which has a set of quality wooden outdoor furniture to relax in. To the back of the complex is a tennis court for your use (we have rackets and balls). Also to the back of the apartment is a wonderful shared swimming pool set in stunning gardens with smaller kids pool, sun loungers are supplied for sole use of guests and owners. Utility Room: There is an open utility room off the kitchen with washing machine. We also have lots of beach and pool toys for kids, armbands, body boards, buckets and spades and lilo's for you to use, just help yourself and return once finished. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels, linen and beach towels are all in the apartment. There is also a hairdryer in the master bedroom. Please Note: If you use the beach towels please leave them clean as found. If you require a mid stay clean we charge this at £45 per clean. Other: Our parking space is only a lift ride down to the underground car park offering easy access when you have cases or shopping. Lots of information is also in the apartment on facilities in the area, recommended restaurants & shops.
