About Josie Hamilton-Cook

I am a teacher and my wife Josie is a self employed product developer to the food industry who also runs our ever expanding holiday cottage business. Our daughter attends a local primary school.

Josie Hamilton-Cook purchased this house in 2011

Why Josie Hamilton-Cook chose East Lindsey

We fell in love with Louth the first time we visited, with its unique range of shops, restaurants and pubs with great access to the countryside and sea side it is the perfect place to raise our family. We came up with the idea to extend and build the lodge in 2011 so that others could come and enjoy this special place for themselves. Thankfully we have been rewarded with lots of bookings and happy guests who return to us year after year.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Josie and Iain,

We just wanted to write and tell you how much we enjoyed our recent stay at Byford Lodge.

When we arrived, we were delighted to find fresh flowers and a gift basket filled with local food items. The living space is nicely furnished and has HD TV and wi-fi. I appreciated the fully equipped kitchen, complete with herbs, spices, and oil (the little things one tends to forget about when self-catering). We particularly liked the master bathroom with the wonderful soaking tub and the skylight above it -such fun having a soak while looking at the stars! We were also happy to find that The Lodge is located so close to the town centre, yet is very quiet and private -and a lovely view down the garden. We love that it is filled with light and that you have put so much thoughtful attention to detail in making us comfortable. As a "hard to please" couple, we would totally recommend it.

Kristi and Malcolm Lamb.

Very high standard accommodation in Louth

  • 5 of 5

We cannot fault the standard of Byford Lodge. We were very warm and comfortable during our short stay. The welcoming hamper was ideal and the bottle of wine greatly appreciated. Our stay was for a family christening and we won't hesitate to stay again!

Immaculately maintained and decoarated to an exceptionally high standard.

  • 5 of 5

The property is a comfy, homely and luxurious hideaway in the center of Louth. A warm welcome from Josie & Ian, and a lovely hamper on our arrival at Byford Lodge.

Everything we may have needed and more can be found in the cottage, we particularly enjoyed the home-cinema style tv & sound system while we relaxed for the weekend. I don't recall seeing this in the cottage info/advert and was a pleasant surprise.

The cottage, central to Louth and so handy for local shops and pubs means the car didn't have to move from the secure off street parking. Even with the proximity to the town center the cottage is very quiet, we could have been in the countryside.

A real gem of a find, can't wait to plan our return.

Great break

  • 5 of 5

Great property in the centre of Louth ideal location to explore Lincolnshire

Cleethorpe is worth a visit and the five sail windmill and tea room at Alford.

We met Josie (owner) and she is very welcoming and made us feel at home, some really nice touches like the food hampers.

We chose the area after seeing the the pictures of the property and we weren't disappointed, it was very clean and welcoming. It was a great break, highly recommend and will visit again.

Beautiful, homely property - everything has been thought of.

  • 5 of 5

Lovely property, really clean, with everything you need.... Toiletries, bath robes, even kitchen foil. For entertainment there is a large TV, blue ray player, plays talion - there's also a TV you can watch from the bath!

The owners were really helpful before we arrived and didn't bother us during our stay (been to some places where the owners spoilt it by always being around). There's a small garden which is lovely for an evening drink.

Really well situated for walking into Louth. There are lovely beaches and Lincoln not too far away. This was a property which was recommended to us and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone else.
