Gratton Road is a charming, well-appointed, two-bedroomed Victorian apartment in the ‘village’ of West London’s Brook Green in Kensington Olympia. The apartment has high ceilings, is light and airy and is decorated and equipped to a high standard. The apartment is located in a quiet residential area, on the corner of Milson Road, one of the most desirable roads in the area. This spacious apartment has a large living room and separate dining area with seating for up to six guests. There is a well equipped modern kitchen with fridge, freezer, dishwasher, oven & hob, microwave and full cooking equipment. There is a widescreen TV in the sitting room with all freeview channels, and DVD. And free Wi-Fi broadband access. This area of West London is within easy reach of Heathrow Airport (20 mins by car or taxi), the heart of chic Kensington & Chelsea, London’s glorious Holland and Hyde Parks and the new shopping centre at Westfield. There are nearby Tube stations for access to central London.

Easy access to central London in 20mins.

We have a full time housekeeper on hand, the indomitable Ana, and we are always reachable by phone or email. Please note that all of these apartments are exclusive dedicated full time short let apartments, they are not people's homes just vacated! My husband works for the world's foremost upmarket travel magazine and he loves to pass on any hidden gems in London he has discovered. Why Elizabeth chose Kensington and Chelsea

We always loved the fact Brook Green and Kensington Olympia have very cosy 'village' feels whilst still being in the heart of central London and with easy access to the rest of the city. There are two parks on our doorstep, Holland and Hyde parks, glorious in summer. You can walk to the heart of Kensington in 10 mins - so its very well positioned. It is fabulous for pubs and restaurants, very handy for tubes and trains ... and very easy for exiting London on the M4 or M40 motorways.

Home away from home, in a fantastic location!

We had a wonderful 4 night stay. The location is fantastic, the apartment was spotlessly clean, with comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen and living area. It really felt like a "home away from home". We will definitely be back the next time we are in London! Thank you to Hugo and Liz for making the whole experience uncomplicated and very enjoyable!

Perfect flat with plenty of room and charm!

We stayed in this lovely flat with our two teenage boys and it never felt crowded. Great proximity to shops and restaurants while still being tucked back in a quiet neighborhood. A quick walk gets you to the Tube or bus stop...but you can walk to many sights as well. The flat is well maintained with everything you need for a most pleasant stay. Try Karma right down the road for fabulous Indian food. We would most definitely stay in this property again!

Lovely flat in great location

This was a perfect flat for our stay! Comfortable, well maintained and centrally located. We especially liked that there was fresh milk and tea available on our arrival after the long flight. Hugo and Lizie were very accommodating and always responded in a timely way. We would definitely rent this again on future trips and recommend it others.

Great Flat

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely flat. Three old friends met from 3 different (US) states for a 5 night stay in London.

Pros: only a 2-3 minute walk through a nice residential area from the tube station; plenty of room in the flat - including a large table great for "gatherings" as well as meals; comfortable beds; modern bathroom; living room with plenty of seating for 5-6 people; well-supplied kitchen - we made use of it for breakfast each morning as well as evening tea; great communication with the owners - very responsive; pictures on vrbo are quite representative of the flat - no surprises; convenient to nice neighborhood pub and restaurants as well as groceries - enjoyed a quick walk (1 block) to a local store to get fresh bread in the morning; excellent info available in the flat for both local/neighborhood as well as London attractions.

Cons: Tube station is not the most convenient to other lines even though it is quite close. From light rail to underground required a couple of stops; 3 flights of stairs - a bit of a struggle with luggage on arrival and not always looked forward to after a day of sightseeing (we are all 70+) - but we made it; wi-fi is very slow - this was our biggest problem - needed to keep up with email from family as well as research some local attractions - didn't make any difference if one or three of us were online. We left London for a small village (population 160) in the Cotswolds which had a very fast wi-fi connection, even with all 3 of us online - surprising that London - slow/middle of nowhere - fast.

Even though I did mention some cons - I still rate our overall experience as a "5 star" - we were comfortable using the tube, we took the stairs as a "challenge", and made do with the wi-fi. Overall, the pros outweigh the cons - a great experience!

Terrific find in Kensington-Olympia

The flat was the perfect base for my family of four, including two teenagers. It's close to the tube stations, yet far enough away from the bustle. The neighbourhood benefits from two excellent gastro-pubs. The flat itself had everything we needed. We highly recommend it.

Lovely week long stay in London

A family of four (mom, dad and two teenage daughters) recently stayed in Hugo & Lizzie's 2 bed flat - the space was ideal for our family! Communication with Hugo and Lizzie during the booking stage, upon our arrival and for the refund was very easy. Emails and calls were promptly replied to and any questions or concerns were always answered. What we really enjoyed was being able to come 'home' after long days of sightseeing around London. The flat was quiet, clean and had nice big windows that allowed for a nice breeze to flow through. We enjoyed being able to spread out our maps on the dining table and having the comfy living room to sit down at the end of the day. The beds were comfortable and the cotton covers were cozy. Perhaps the one negative we found with the apartment was the convenience to the tube stations. We have visited London a few times and are familiar with the tube but did not realize the Kensington/Olympia station nearby does not have easy connections or run as often as other lines; the more convenient line stations that are nearby are at least a 10 minute walk away. Often, after being out for the day walking all over London then coming home late in the evening, we would take a cab to the apartment from one of these stations. For us, if a different tube station was closer or more convenient, we would have given 5 stars for our review. Overall, it was a good stay...and the apartment is especially handy if attending the Kensington/Olympia conference centre. On a side note, The Havelock Tavern (about a 3 minute walk away) provides fantastic meals and a lovely atmosphere-highly recommend going for dinner.
