Ski Chalet close to ski lifts for both 3 Vallees & Paradiski Skiing. Courchevel and Champagny (La Plagne) ski lifts just 15-20 minutes. Airport transfers available.

Chez Helene is a traditional wooden chalet located in a pretty Alpine village, on the sunny side of the Bozel valley, and is opposite the ski resort of La Tania. Facing due South the chalet is warm and cosy in winter & cool in summer.

With 6 bedrooms & 8 double beds, the chalet offers guests the perfect base from which to enjoy their winter skiing & spring/summer/autumn Alpine activity holidays. Guests have the opportunity to ski two of the worlds largest linked ski domains, with the ski lifts in Le Praz (for Courchevel/3 Vallees) & Brides les Bains (for Meribel) & Champagny-en-Vanois (for La Plagne/Paradiski) just a short 15-20 mins drive. Restaurants/bars/ski hire & food shops are just 6 mins drive to Bozel. A 40sqm decked patio provides the perfect area for BBQ’s, sunbathing & socialising. Satellite TV/DVD, coffee machine, induction hob/electric oven/microwave, washing machine/tumble dryer & dishwasher make it a home from home, and one we know you will want to return to again and again.

We are very flexible (outside school holidays), and changeover days are not fixed. You are free to rent for any period of 7+ days, to suit you, and to enable you to book the cheapest flights. When staying in the chalet, we occupy the ground floor self contained studio, leaving you with exclusive use of the upper floors. If your party requires use of the studio, we have alternative accommodation available.

Chalet rates are per person (normally based on a minimum of 8 -12 guests at Easter, Christmas, New Year and February Half Term). Airport, train station & ski lift transfers are available. Discounts are available for larger groups (12+), and for young children. Smaller parties (of less than 8) out of peak seasons will be

considered, on a mixed group/shared use basis, and particularly if you are a

returning guest.

Please note...we do not inflate our rates over the school holiday weeks in the ski season!

Rental of the chalet costs the same per person at Christmas, Feb half term,

Easter etc, as it is for all other weeks in the year. We have 4 (now grown up)

children and know how expensive it is to take them away in school holidays and

so do not inflate our rates for those weeks, but do have a minimum guest

requirement of 8 to 12 in the school holidays. Smaller parties are welcome, but

rental price in the school holidays will be based on 8/12 guests in those

weeks.

We can provide airport transfers and transport for your party during your holiday for transfers to/from the local ski lifts/resorts, and your trips to the supermarkets & local shops, restaurants etc. Day Trips to Ski Val D'Isere/Tignes and other ski resorts can be arranged for a contribution to cover costs. Natalie-Mar 14-I stayed in Chez Helene with family on a skiing holiday & cannot recommend it highly enough! The chalet is warm and inviting & was well equipped with everything that we needed. Our host David was so accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. The area is beautiful with some breath taking scenery. An added bonus is that the location is away from the noise of the main ski resorts but it's just a short drive to get there. There is so much to do in the area & David is a fantastic guide who can recommend something to suit everyone. We went for skiing & were not disappointed by the selection of nearby ski resorts. I will definitely be booking again. A gem in the Alps not to be missed.

Great quiet location with spectacular views.

The chalet has everything you need and with several bedrooms can accommodate many guests. The view from the balcony is stunning and there is a side decking area which catches the sun for times when you want to relax. Although this is mainly a skiing location we would highly recommend it for a summer holiday aswell.

Montagny is a quiet village halfway up a mountain at approx 1000m along a twisty road, there are a lot of new buildings and refurbishment of existing properties is evident indicating that this is an up and coming location. In the summer there is only one bar in the village but they provide very good meals.

Perfect for all our needs

The chalet is perfect for meeting all our expectations. We arrived for a cycling holiday and the chalet is like home form home. With a fully equipped kitchen, plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms teamed with the living areas, there was plenty of room for all our party.

Located in the mountains close to Cour Cheval, we could ride form the chalet. Down into Moutiers or Bride les Bains, both lovely villages, were just a short ride down either side of the mountain.

Looking forward to another return visit in 2016.

Owner's Response: Thanks Jon, and true to your word you have already booked to come back next July (2016), for a longer stay and with an even larger group of your cycling friends. I truly believe the chalet provides the perfect accommodation for all activity based holidays, including skiing, paragliding, cycling, mountain biking, walking, swimming, climbing (via ferata), Zip wire tree coursing, and white water rafting/kayaking,etc, to name but a few. It is also the perfect base for family exploring holidays, suits all ages, and is a true home from home.

A very welcoming and comfortable home from home, a beautiful chalet with a most wonderful host! The chalet is located very conveniently to the best skiing resorts in France. David could not have done more for us and we will never forget our amazing trip.

Summer holiday

Easy to find with the owners instructions. Quiet location. Plenty of bedrooms. Clean home from home. wifi many dvds and games. Fully equipped kitchen. Owner very knowledgeable of the area and he gave us directions to two fantastic national parks for walking. Mont Blanc is just 1 1/2 hours away. very enjoyable holiday.

For Spring/Summer walkers the chalet is perfectly situated for access to the lifts in both the Three Vallees and Paradiski mountain domains, and has direct access from its small mountain village location to the top of Mont Jovet. The stunning Vanois National Park is just a short 20 minute drive away in Champagny Le Haut (20 mins drive) and Pralognan en Vanois (30 mins drive), and the beautiful lake at Annecy is just 90 mins away. I look forward to welcoming you here again.

Brilliant place to stay. Host is very welcoming and he will do anything for you! Incredibly accommodating. Skiing is first class in both resorts - three valleys or les arcs. Love the fact that you can choose either resort or mix and match.

House is very comfortable, good beds, and good facilities. Very clean. Great place to stay, we will be going back, thanks David.

As for skiing in all the local resorts, I truly believe it is one of the major benefits of staying at Chez Helene, being just 13 minutes drive from Champagny, for skiing in La Plagne and Les Arcs (Paradiski) and just 20 minutes to the Le Praz, Courchevel lift, for skiing in Courchevel and the Three Valleys (Courchevel, Meribel and Val Thorens). Next time you visit I'll be more than happy to drive you over to Tignes and Val D'Isere to experience the ski slopes there :-).

12 years ago I discovered the joys and thrills of skiing in Canada & paragliding in Slovenia. & developed an ever increasing desire to live in the Alps. 6 years ago I spent two summers exploring from Chamonix to Annecy & Les Arcs to Courchevel, paragliding as I went, and through local estate agents viewed over 175 properties, barns, chalets and plots of building land until I eventually found this, my dream chalet. 'Chez Helene' has a really warm homely and inviting feel and I instantly realised the potential for sharing it, and my love of the mountains, with family/friends and guests. It is the ideal base for a holiday throughout the year. With both the 3 Vallees and Paradiski mountain domains on my doorstep, I know I really have found a little piece of heaven here on Earth.

Booking Notes:
A rental deposit of 25% of the total rental is required before a booking can be confirmed. The balance of the rental is payable 8 weeks before the rental period commences. The rental deposit is refunded in full if cancellation is notified more than 8 weeks before the commencement date, and on a sliding scale if cancelled later (or in full if the period booked is subsequently re-booked).

A refundable security deposit of £500 is payable (first rental only).

Guests must have adequate travel Insurance.

Changeover Day: Changeover days are not fixed. You are free to arrive and leave on days to suit you and for any period (7+ days), though ideally on dates/times/airports to coincide with departing/arriving guests if we are providing airport transfers and transportation (available in the ski season only).

Notes on prices: Rates for the chalet are very simple & the standard Ski Season rate is £200pppw self drive/£275pppw with
transport/airport/ski-lift trfs included.

Group Size:- Singles, couples, small groups are welcome outside the UK School Holidays. Minimum family/group sizes of 8-12 guests apply in the UK school holidays. Smaller groups welcome to book the chalet in the UK school holiday periods, but the accommodation rate will be based on the minimum group sizes.

Discounts for larger groups (12+) & for very young children.

Bookings outside of UK school holidays may be made for any period (min 3 nights).

Chez Helene is located in a small & friendly traditional mountain village, on the sunny side of the Bozel valley, and provides the perfect base to explore and enjoy the amazing and stunning mountains and valleys of the French Alps. Being just a stones throw away from arguably the very best ski resorts in the world, with over 1000km of groomed pistes here on my doorstep, and with numerous world class paragliding launch sites just a short drive away, I really do love my new home here in France. With 6 bedrooms, 8 double beds & transport for up to 8 guests (or 12 with a hire car), the chalet comfortably caters for large groups. Guests return year after year, so I know Chez Helene is the best place to stay for your winter skiing and Spring/Summer cycling holidays.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: The chalet was built in 2004, and was newly re furbished for the 2011/12 ski season. Facing due South the chalet benefits from natural light and heat from the low winter sun throughout the ski season and is very airy, light, warm and cosy when the sun is shining. A very eco efficient wood pellet burner (programmable/timer) heats the living/dining/kitchen areas and also the bedrooms & mezzanines above, on the top floor. The 7 top floor double beds are found at floor level (x 3) and on raised mezzanine floors (x 4). Bedroom 1 is a standard double. Bedrooms 2 & 5 contain a double bed on raised mezzanine floors. Bedrooms 3 & 4 each have a double bed on the ground floor, with access via a wooden ladder at the foot of each bed to a double bed on each mezzanine floor. The ground floor studio has a king sized bed and en-suite shower and is totally self contained. When staying in the chalet, we occupy the studio, leaving you with exclusive use of the floors above. Smoking is prohibited in the chalet. Outside: The chalet has two South facing balconies, & a 40 sqm sun terrace/patio, all with magnificent views of the 3 Vallees mountains & the ski resort of La Tania (opposite). In the Spring and Summer you can watch the paragliders flying above the Col de la Loze, & Buzzards, Eagles and other birds of Prey, thermalling above you. The chalet has plentiful parking. A short walk from the chalet brings you to magnificent views of the Grand Bec mountain beyond Bozel, and to stunning views of the valley floor to the bright lights of Bride les Bains in the evenings. The village of Montagny is wonderful to walk around, the local people so friendly and welcoming, and the houses in the old quarter are simply fascinating. There are many local walks available from the chalet. The road up from the village (accessible late Spring) takes you high up the mountain of Mont Jovet, and towards the top of La Plagne. The village has a bar, which also serves pizza where you can meet the friendly locals. Utility Room: Washing machine and tumble dryer. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All cleaning/laundry charges are included in the rates. Egyptian cotton towels & bed linen is provided weekly. 45% goose down feather or microfibre duvets are available. All beds have Hypnia memory foam mattresses, with mattress & pillow protectors.
