Our beautifully restored 150 year old house sleeps ten people. Have fun in our huge, fully serviced hot-tub situated in a secluded part of the patio/garden which can be enjoyed in any weather, the cooler the better. Up to ten persons. This is ideal for self-catering families or share any celebration get together with friends. Set in the Isle of Purbeck at the gateway to the Jurrasic Coast, it is one mile from Swanage town and its award winning beaches, surrounded by rolling Purbeck Hills.

My family and I went to the farmhouse on this site for Christmas - 6 adults, 3 children. The farmouse was beautfiully decorated, warm, cosy and clean - the perfect place to spend Christmas. The beds were really comfy and the kitchen was well equipped - we cooked a full christmas dinner and it was lovely - even though I say so myself !

The jacuzzi was a great touch - cold outside but warm in the tub and it was treated every day but the staff. All the bar staff and team at the site were really friendly and helpful. I can imagine the farmhouse would be beautiful in the summer and perfect for a big family celebration as there is plenty of room and the gardens would be lovely.

Thank you for making it a lovely christmas and we hope to return next year.

Cleaner still there at 2.00pm don't know why the place was dirty ,hot tub had scum on the sides tv cut out sky dish on wall but wires cut no mobile signal could not use our lap top hot tub steps rotten and falling apart very unsafe oven didn't always work club house leaves a lot to be desired came home early ,had to leave keys will work man as receptionist to busy having a row on phone ,but Swanage great weather fantastic well done Dorset

Owner's Response: We would like to thank this reviewer, his comments relating to the cleanliness have been passed to our housekeeper who is undertaking a review of her procedure. Health & hygiene require us to completely empty, clean and refill all Hot Tubs between guest visits, we always adhere to this. The steps to the Hot Tub have been inspected and repaired. Mobile signal is usually good in the area depending on your provider, Vodafone is particularly good. Wi fi on site is currently being upgraded with new fibre optic routers to help with the connectivity. The oven was replaced less than twelve months ago, we have had it inspected and can find no fault. This reviewer at no time visited the reception to report his concerns to allow us to rectify any perceived faults, but we will always attend to faults reported by guests asap. If our reception staff are otherwise engaged then any of our other staff who happen to be in reception will ask if they can help to save customers waiting.

Coast/Beach:

Swanage sandy beaches are approx 20 min walk away, Punch and Judy shows in high season. Main beach stretches for approx 1 mile to cliffs and walks over the hill to Studland and Old Harry Rocks. Water sports and climbing available. Peveril coast and lifeboat station approx 20 min walk. Durlston coastline approx 2 mile walk. Studlands sandy beaches are approx 10 mins by car. Kimmeridge beach approx 20 min drive, shale cliffs famous for its fossils.

Travel:

Although there is no mainline rail connection to Swanage, there are buses which connect Swanage with Wareham, Bournemouth and Poole where there are mainline stations. The nearest bus stop is within 1/2 of a mile from the property. Wareham station is approximately 11 miles away, Poole 12 miles and Bournemouth 13 miles. The journey to and from Bournemouth can be made via the Sandbanks Ferry, which crosses Poole Harbour. There is a taxi rank by the bus stop in the centre of town.

Distances:

Corfe Castle 5 miles by car or steam train.

Wareham 10 miles rail link to London approx 2 hours 20 mins.

Bournemouth 20 miles by car/sandbanks ferry. 1 hour via. Bournemouth belle boat, peak season.

1/2 mile walk to the famous Swanage steam train station.

28 miles to Weymouth.

Further Details:

Swanage has a Barclays, Nat west and Lloyds banks also Boots chemist, Co-op, Budgens, hairdressers/barber, dentist, doctors surgery, hospital, vets and all the usual gift shops, cafe's, bar's and restaurants to numerous to mention.
