A spacious 3 bedroom apartment in a mountainous location. Chez Ketts is part of a refurbished hotel completed in 2005. It has a large terrace, safe for children and is on the 1st floor. Lake Geneva is a 15 min drive although can be seen from the village. The front balconies look over the mountains and direct access to mountain walks. The ski lift is a 1-2 minute drive. It is a beautiful area all year round, from the sounds of cow bells in the summer to sight of snow coverered countryside in the winter.

About the Owner

Hello and thank you for taking the time to look at our property. I'm Ketts & we own property in France and Portugal. I have two children now aged 16 and 13 and chose the properties to suit our own wishes and requirements.

In Portugal Luz offers everything a family needs for a great holiday and of course a dedicated swimming pool. Golf courses close by.

In France we struck lucky finding Thollon Les Memises as it is an authentic French village in the alps. Excellent for both Winter and Summer holidays. Evian water originates in Thollon, it has its own ski-resort with access to some of the finest ski-resorts in France and Switzerland in an hour’s drive.

We have tried to make the properties a home from home but with a local feel. We enhance them each year in order to retain high standards.

We had a lovely 5 days stay in Thollon, although little snow this Christmas the glacier at Les Diabrelets is not far and a great day's out can be had in Evian Les Bains.

The apartment is clean, warm and has pleasant views.

Fantastic base

This apartment provided a great base for our family ski holiday. It was clean and comfortable and close enough to the slopes to make our journey easy and parking was plentiful. There was plenty of kitchen equipment and having a shower and bathroom allowed us all to get ready at the same time ! The bedrooms were compact but comfortable and hanging space and shoe racks made drying our ski stuff easy. Booking was straight forward and we received comprehensive instructions for transfer - the slopes and ski school were fabulous and there was a great supermarket and a selection of restaurants and bars to choose from - very good value for money and would definitely recommend to others thank you

Lovely stay, spacious apartment

The apartment is in a quiet location a couple of minutes drive from the ski station at Thollon les Memises. Lots of private parking and lovely views of the mountains. The apartment has 3 spacious bedrooms, a large lounge/dining kitchen with access to a front balcony and a huge private terrace at the rear accessed though one of the bedrooms. The entrance hall has plenty of hooks and shelving to house ski jackets, helmets, gloves etc. We stayed during the UK February half term and found the location to be very peaceful and, although busy, the resort was not over crowded. There is ample public free parking up at the ski station and a fab little ski resort to explore once you take the gondola to the top - a trip which gives you fantastic views to Lake Geneva below. Very reasonable ski pass costs and prices for food up the mountain at the one restaurant. Some great places to eat around the ski station with a healthy apres-ski scene. The apartment is close to the pretty church, the bakery and the resort's main supermarket which is very well stocked. A great place to stay with is far enough away from the full on hussle and bustle to be tranquil but literally 2 mins in a car to be in the thick of it. Great information provided by the owner who is extremely helpful. Highly recommended summer or winter to enjoy this gem of a resort.

From the Owner

When we bought Chez Ketts we were looking for a place in France with its own ski-resort that was family friendly. We also wanted somewhere where the children could practice French with the locals. A purpose built resort was off the agenda. We found out about Thollon via friends and were pleasantly surprised to find it was just what we wanted and was much better value too! The apartment was part of a hotel re-development by a British company and we liked the high quality and space not often found by French built apartments that we had seen. On arriving in Thollon in the Summer it was very clear this was a lovely area. We have since spent many weeks in summer and winter. It is a friendly authentic French alpine village and within easy access of, well, the rest of Europe!

Special interest holidays:

In the summar Thollon is ideally place for Mountain walks and biking. The activities for tourists around lake Geneva are vast and there are many economic nice municiple swimming pool complexes on or near the lake. Thollon boasts that it was the first to try para-gliding and is by fact the source of the famious Evian water supply.


The lake (Geneva/Leman) is a 15 drive away. There are in land lakes within 10 minutes drive. Access to Port du Soleil is a pleasant 50 min drive and resorts such as verbier are accessible in 1 1/2 hour drive. Switzerland is accessible by car - 20 mins or via boat from Evian to Lausanne 30 mins.


Great fun routes - Via Geneva airport then 60km easy drive. Via Geneva Airport, train to Lausanne, boat to Evian, Taxi to Thollon. Via Boat from Evian to Geneva, Taxi to Airport. 10 hour comfortable drive from Calais.


Evian is 12km away. Geneva is approx. 60km away. Morzine approx 30km.

Further Details:

All the restaurants in Thollon are good although the favourite seems to be "Bar St. Nicholas". There are local small 'super markets' , a fromargerie, baker and ski hire shops, a cafe, a pizza bar and an old fashion cinema.

Chez Ketts is an ideal base for out and about Summer holidays and ideal for beginner and family skiing. My family can be considered advanced skiers now and we still enjoy Thollon but have the option to drive to many larger resorts in no time at all from Verbier in Swizerland to Porte du Soleil in France.The Thollon ski-lift is 2 km from the door and virtually all aspects of skiing are cheaper in Thollon than the major resorts and yet by law the ski-school standards for example are identical. Then there is the Evian water connection, not many people can say they bath in Evian water - Chez Chachat a commune of Thollon is the actual source of Evian water and this is literally yards or should I say meters from Chez Ketts.
