The open plan layout of the barn gives an wonderful feeling of spaciousness with 3 large patio doors opening up to the south and south west of the property. The Granary is furnished to a high standard.
The fitted oak kitchen has oven and hob, double sink, American fridge freezer, dishwasher and all modern appliances.
The spacious entrance hall is tiled with local stone giving it unique character. The dining area has a large oak table and the lounge area has plenty of seating and a wood burning stove.
With 3 Bedrooms upstairs, one double en suite, with bath, one twin and one single the Granary comfortably sleeps 5 people.
The main bathroom has bath, separate shower, basin and toilet.
There is an additional toilet and basin on the ground floor.
All the bedrooms are tastefully furnished with sumptuous fixtures and fittings. Luxurious mattresses of high quality.
The main bedroom has a kingsize bed.

"Had 2 weeks in August 2011 with family of 5. Really loved the house and the location - perfect. Location was very peaceful - if you wanted to do very little you could because the house had everything you needed. Great for chilling out. The amenities in the house were very good. Would heartily recommend this and would come back again."

The nearest town is Thiviers. Thiviers is a real market town which, on Saturday mornings throughout the year is completely taken over by the hustle and bustle of market stalls selling everything from slippers to live chickens, and Oysters to overalls! Local farmers flock from miles around to sell their fruit, vegetables, and meat produce at what for them is the highlight of their social calendar.
Thiviers has 4 supermarkets, banks, boulangerie's, butchers, restaurants etc.
The nearest Hypermarkets are at Perigueux. Perigueux the regional, cultural, and gastronomic capital of the Dordogne, has a wealth of shopping possibilities to satisfy most tastes, ranging from clothes boutiques to provincial department stores.
If you enjoy eating out then you couldn't choose a better region for your holiday . The Perigord is world renowned for its cuisine and fresh produce including Foie gras, truffles, walnuts, and of course the wine! There are an abundance of local restaurants we can recommend, from Chateaux to local eateries.
A few minutes down the road at Chez Eric in the village of Sarrazac, you will literally rub shoulders with the locals. The place is always packed at lunchtime, and with a fixed menu which combines quality with quantity (and usually has an alternative to the main course) you wont feel like eating for a long time afterwards!

- Notes on accommodation: The beautifully renovated Perigordian Cottage is adjacent to the Granary. Both have plenty of their own space around them, and their own totally independent terraces and BBQ's for dining. Neither property imposing on the other. There are badminton, boules, swings and mountain bikes available for guests. Outside: Situated up a private driveway with no immediate neighbours this property is surrounded by fields. The large shady walnut trees beside the Granary and Cottage offer plenty of shade. The 10 x 5 metre heated swimming pool is situated up on the hillside with stunning views.The pool is in full sun all day.There is a large metal gazabo offering shade on the pool terrace and plenty of sun loungers for everyone. The views are stunning. Both properties have BBQ's and outside seating. The beautifully renovated Perigordian Cottage is adjacent to the Granary.Both have plenty of their own space around them, and their own totally independent terraces for dining. Neither imposing on the other. There are lots of tracks and trails straight from the properties for exploring the local countryside. Often during the balmy summer evenings passing deer can be seen. There is an abundance of wildlife, birdlife and assortment of wild flowers, with wild orchids growing in the verges leading to Lavaud.
