The property is in a wood and stone building of 6 apartments. It's on the edge of Arcs 2000, overlooking 1950 with pine trees dotted around. You can go up the elevator to the restaurants in 2000, or down the Gondola to the bars, shops and restaurants of 1950. It's a 26km taxi trip from Bourg St Maurice station which is on the London Eurostar route or you can get the bus and funicular down there for a wander about the village. We speak English, French and Italian.

We had a wonderful time at your Chalet, we were very impressed with the Chalet itself which was ideal for us and of an extremely high standard in its condition, presentation and equipment. The location is terrific and we were blessed with perfect skiing conditions which made for a truly wonderful holiday.

Although we didn't see much of Zealous the only issue we had was with a broken shower head when we arrived which was dealt with most efficiently by them. In terms of any suggestions we could only think of a couple of very minor things, a fire guard would be useful as we did light the fire on a couple of occasions and were slightly concerned that there was no fireguard to put in place when we went to bed, we were for some reason short on knives (which Zealous also sorted out), a pair of scissors would be useful and some larger water glasses would be good, but these were very very minor points! Overall, a wonderful chalet and thank you very much for allowing us to rent it! Regards Mark

Great apartment in Arc 2000

Had a great week in this very super apartment - the kitchen is well equipped, the beds were very comfortable and plenty of bathroom space for all 6 of us. The DVD collection was also appreciated when the unseasonal snowfall arrived at the end of the week. The staff at Chalet des Neiges were helpful, and the daily bread and croissant deliveries to the apartment door were a fantastic service. We didn't use the pool or sauna but it looked good. Underground parking was a bonus as there was a reasonable snowfall the night before we left. The location is really very convenient with a short drag lift up to the main ski meeting point and also close to the short bubble lift down to Arc 1950, which we thought was a very attractive bit of the resort, with pleasant bars, ski shops and supermarkets. We would be delighted to book it again next time we come to Les Arcs.

Great Apartment in Les Arcs 2000

Having been skiing ever year for over 20 years, have come to appreciate and understand what makes for a great chalet/ apartment. And this is one. It is a well located, well furbished apartment in Les Arcs 2000. A short walk round the corner gets you to a free button lift to take you up to the base of the main ski area. A nearby lift caters for when on foot. Depending on the amount of snow one can ski right back to the front door. The apartment itself has 4 well appointed bedrooms and copes very well with 2 families (4 adults and 5 children (aged 7-14) in our group) No low ceilings! No problem with the bathroom facilities and never a problem with a lack of hot water. The wifi added this year was a boon, especially for the kids. The kitchen is sufficiently well stocked with pots pans etc that serving up meals every night was not a chore. A large table meant all 9 could sit down together without being cramped. The dishwasher coped with the fall out from the meals. There is enough comfortable seating for relaxing in the evening. There is access to parking and a pool in the complex was also a hit with the kids. Your daily bread can be ordered for delivery to the apartment at the reception in the main complex - usually arrives by 07:00. The biggest problem in giving this 5 stars, which is well deserved, is increasing its popularity and thus making it harder to book. Hey- ho, truth will out!

Lovely, well thought-out flat

Great flat! We loved the proximity to the ski runs and the layout of the flat made it the best flat we have ever rented. We are a group of six people and this flat gave us all the space and facilities we required in comfort. Plenty of bedrooms, sinks and loos. Not only that, the living, kitchen and dining space was a good size too. The flat is nicely decorated and there was lots of storage too. It was great having the bread delivered to the door each morning. The staff at Chalet des neiges were very helpful. We would definitely rent the flat again if we return to Arc 2000. Thanks John for all your kind help and advice.

Great chalet apartment in good location

For a group of 6 guys this place was great with loads of space and more bathrooms and toilets than you can shake a stick at!

Very well equipped and furnished with plenty of space in the bedrooms and living / dining area. Nice large wrap around balcony with good views - when we arrived there was about a metre of fresh snow covering it.

It's just a short walk out of the block, past the underground car parking entrance and out onto the road to get to the drag lift up to the main ski area. There's also a lift that takes you up to the top if you don't drags. You can ski back down by the drag at the end of the day and when we were there, there was enough snow to ski right back to the door of the block.

Whilst there were other people staying in the Marmotte block, we never heard any noise from them - very peaceful and quiet, yet very close to the amenities (shops, pub etc.) and the bread delivery service (place your orders at reception) was excellent and very reasonable.

All in all I'd strongly recommend this place and would definitely go again. The owner John was great and provided great info about the apartment and the area in advance and even emailed just after we arrived to make sure everything was OK.

The other reviews give a true reflection of the place and cover many other things. If you're going and want to use the gym / exercise bikes, they're off the swimming pool area so you have to go in through the changing rooms and into the pool area itself to get to it. Access to this is via the underground parking area - well worth a visit.

Well located and equipped chalet apartment - highly recommended

The chalet / apartment is well located with a little button lift a hundred metres away taking you up to the centre of Arc 2000 with access to all the major lifts. Due to the significant snowfall you could ski all the way back to the door of the chalet.

Inside, the chalet has been decorated in a style sympathetic to chalet life with all the facilities for families or friends to live comfortably for the week. Plenty of toilets / bathrooms, lovely balcony, well-equipped kitchen, lots of DVDs, comfortable beds, amiable and conscientious owner...couldn't really ask for more.

Beautiful Chalet at Arc 2000

We felt very fine in this chalet and spent a nice week in Les Arc. From the first contact up to the reservation everything ran smoothly and very uncomplicated. John takes really care of his guests and gives many helpful tips for the stay. The flat is tasteful and comfortably and equipped very well. Everything was clean and maintained. For 7-8 adults it's enough place. Every bedroom has its own small bath, one of it with WC, a real luxury compared to other French holiday's flats!

The chalet was very quiet, only the front bedroom borders on the common skiroom, here one heard from 8. 30 o'clock the other guests of the house. We can only recommend the chalet and we'll sure come back once again!

Location

We've been going to Arcs 2000 twice a year every year since 1999. We love it. It's a twenty minute taxi ride from Bourg St Maurice (Eurostar) and you always get snow there. We're taking our grandsons this year! We used to stay in a hotel but an apartment is so much more relaxing. You can spread out, cook food and watch TV, sit in front of the log fire. It's been great watching the resort grow and add new restaurants. 1950 twinkles below us at night time.

Travel:

Bourg St Maurice is nearest Eurostar station and is 26 kms from the apartment.The most convenient airport is Chambéry, situated 144 kms (2hrs) away. From here, you have a number of different methods of transport to choose from to get you up to resort. If you can’t get a flight to Chambéry, the next best options are Grenoble (211kms), Lyon (222kms) or Geneva (225km); all of which are serviced by a number of the major airlines.

It's 50 metres to the first ski lift. Arcs 2000 always has snow. The apartment is very cosy and we enjoy all the pictures and things we've put on the walls over the years. We tend to eat out at lunch time and stay in with food, wine and a dvd at night time.

Bags of firewood can be bought from Chalet des Neiges. Baguettes, croissants, pain chocolate, pain au raisin etc can be delivered by Chalet des Neiges each morning (joyous).
