Hi we are Bob and Sharon and we have owned our appartment in Iris Village for 8 years.

We have had great family holidays in the apartment, and really enjoy spending time in Cyprus.

We love Paphos because of the fantastic facilities in the area. There is a great family atmosphere, and the Harbour boasts a great range of bars and restaurants and a new new shopping mall, Kings avenue, just a short walk away. There really is something for everyone here. The area is easily accessible with the airport less than 20 minutes drive away.

Clean, spacious, comfortable holiday home

Lovely apartment, so clean, bright and airy. Good size bedrooms and bathrooms. Well equipped kitchen with everything you could need to self cater. Nice complex which was practically empty during our stay, with a nicely kept swimming pools. The walk to the harbour was longer than we realised with 3 young children and an 80 year old, a good 20 minutes but a taxi was €10 back so not too unreasonable. The apartment managers tony and June were so friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble. The only small thing that irritated us was the noise of the waterfall aspect of the pool, when we sat on the balcony we couldn't hear each other! Paphos is a wonderful place to holiday and the apartment is in a quiet residential area.

Owner's Response: We are pleased you enjoyed your holiday, but sorry that the waterfall aspect of the swimming pool, you found noisy. It is a feature of the complex, and helps with circulation and filtering. It is on during the morning and a few hours in the afternoon. Excellent apartment - home from home!

Background - we are a family with two children under 10 and have hired similar apartments in Portugal, Spain and Cyprus - Iris Village is the best we have stayed in. We tend to have quite lazy days by the poolside and go out for dinner at night so eat in breakfast and lunch.

From the point of booking the communication with the owners was excellent, quick and informative. Similarly the English couple who met us with keys were really friendly and a great source of local information.

The apartment itself is large, bright, airy and spacious and has everything you could ever need for day to day living. It is spotlessly clean with sheets changed after a few days. (bed linen, towels and beach towels are included) It is in a nice quiet, residential location yet the pool area was busy enough to create some atmosphere and for the children to make friends - having a poolside loo is a big plus with young kids! Two large pools with fresh (not salt) water with jacuzzi seats at each end. Sunbeds are available but the usual up at 8am to reserve them was the order of the day in August, we never failed to get them however.

Nearby there are some local 'kiosk' shops to get your papers, bread etc on a daily basis, it really is worth doing a 'big' shop at Papantonio's at the start of your holiday - it has all UK brands and everything you could wish for inc.good toiletries if limited by weight restriction on low cost airline.

There are some restaurants nearby but the majority are towards the harbour and were all good. Pambi's is a cafe, diner a couple of streets along and is popular with ex-pats, its always busy and does good food and shows all football. The icecream place opposite the bus exchange (nr the harbour) is amazing with 40+ flavours. Friends bar is a must.

The waterpark is really good and very close by (about 2 km) 90 euro entry for family of 4 and expect another 40-50 on drinks and food as you can't take your own in.

We went to the beach at Coral Bay which was nice, quite busy as it was a weekend but watersprts etc available and a good cafe.

If I was being really, really picky the only small negatives I could say are - it is a 20-30 minute walk to the harbour with small children - much quicker without them (8-10 euros for a taxi home in 2013) and the bus goes nearby. There aren't many English TV channels - however there is a great DVD shop around the corner which hires for 2 euros for 3 days!

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this apartment.

Holiday in Paphos

We were extremely satisfied with the orgsnisational side of our booking, Sharon and Bob explained everything clearly and any queries were dealt with promptly. On arrival in Cyprus we were collected as arranged and transported to the apartment. The apartment was as described and as the pictures showed. It was modern clean and spacious and more than met our expectations, it was also extremely well equipped with everything you could ever need while away on holiday. The complex was also as described and again was extremely clean and well maintained the pools were great and there were plenty of sunbeds each day. The only thing we missed was a small snack bar or on site shop neither of which the complex has however this did not affect our overall satisfaction. While we were there the water supply to the complex was cut off due to a problem in the local area this again was dealt with promptly and effectively by both Tony who looks after the apartment for Sharon and Bob and by the staff at the complex, we understood that these things happen and it was not a problem to us however we were impressed by the swift resolution. The apartment is a good 15 - 20 min walk down to the town and harbour which is fine during the evening when its a little cooler however is harder during the day when its hot. We ate out in the harbour most nights and generally we were more than happy with our meals, its hard to recommend any particular restaurant as all of the ones we ate at were fine. We would however recommend the waterpark and the go karting and additionally a day boat trip on the Wave Dancer which was fabulous we also took a speed boat out for an hour which was great fun. Overall we had a great holiday and have absolutely no complaints the apartment was great and we would be more than happy to recommend it.

From the Owner

Iris village is not your typical holiday location. Each apartment block is different, not the usual row after row of the same buildings. Its pleasing to the eye, very spacious poolside area, plenty room for sunbeds and lounging by the pool, it has poolside changing rooms, toilets and showers. Three good sized pools, plus a kiddies fountain pool. Well maintained gardens, and fruit trees, we love to pick our own grapefruit, oranges and lemons when in season.

Activity and Interests


Famous Blue flagged 'Coral Bay' is only a short bus journey from Paphos and offers a range of water sports, snack bars and other facilities.

Other beaches near by are - Venus, Latchi and Pissouri.


The nearest airport is Paphos and is only a 20 minute drive to the apartment. Larnaca Airport is 1 hour and 20 minutes drive.

A taxi from the airport is approx. 35 euros, but we can arrange pick up and drop off for a smaller fee.

Car Hire is widely available for exploring the Island.

The apartment is situated on the second floor, has two balconies, overlooking the main pools. Two bathrooms, one with a large walk in shower, the other has a full sized bath, two good sized double rooms and a twin room. The apartment is light and airy, has air conditioning and ceiling fans. Free wifi is included, plus British television freeview channels. We have private undercover parking if you are thinking of hiring a car.

  • Notes on accommodation: We have a reliable British couple who live close by, and maintain the apartment to a high standard. Tony and June are available to offer a friendly service, and look after your every needs -nothing is too much trouble. Iris Village is a quiet and safe environment, but not far from local tavernas and bars. The Client is advised to arrange a comprehensive insurance (including cancellation cover) and to have full cover for the party's personal belongings, public liability etc., since this is not covered by the Owner's insurance. Outside: The Large Pools with built in Jacuzzi's in Iris Village have the benefit of male/female changing rooms, showers and toilets. Sunloungers and parasols are also provided. Iris Village is surrounding by lush gardens and a variety of fruit trees. External lighting, including internal pool lighting completes a special ambience. The main apartment balcony with pool view is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening, and also a coffee in the morning! Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels, Linen and beach towels all provided. Maid service available for small charge - on request. Welcome Pack also available on request. Many other services i.e. airport pick up also available - please ask for further details. Other: Patio doors have vertical blinds and all bedroom windows have black out blinds. All rooms are fitted with ceiling fans and A/C. Private, covered parking area near to lifts.
