Fantastic stay

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely villa in a fantastic location. 2 families with teenagers and we all loved it, Hakan the owner is a gentleman and nothing is too much trouble. Highlights were the swimming platform when the wind died down, having dinner cooked for us by two lovely ladies that Hakan organised, wet shave in Kas, Kas in General, a day on a gullet with Captain Garlic Ali and of coarse the villa of coarse, really quiet. Lovely bedrooms totally sound isolated from each other great with teenagers. Lounging in he pool gazing at the view, perfect. Hakan recommended great car hire just make sure you get one that can get you up the hill from the villa, it's steep. Go you'll love it.

Stunning Villa, Great Location

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for privacy, relaxation, high-end comfort, stunning views and wonderful sunsets, then Cape House on the Kas Peninsula should be at the top of your short-list.

Throw in the wonderfully friendly and knowledgeable owner Hakan, who made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived, to Hacan who brought fresh local bread and maintained the pool and property daily then you had the recipe for a perfect villa break.

The villa is superbly located, with uninterrupted views of the ocean, although there are other villas at either side of the property they are out of sight and you are, in essence, secluded.

The villa itself has been finished to a very high standard and is visually stunning, the pictures really don't do it a justice, when you walk through the front door you are met with beautiful views of the ocean and a sense of space and serenity.

The villa also has very modern appliances, BBQ and has beautifully appointed bedrooms and lounge area. All rooms are en-suite which is great and in very good condition.

Kas itself is about a ten minute drive or 45 minute walk from the villa, there's not much in terms of shops/restaurants near the villa so aim to get your provisions in Kas itself. Restaurant wise, would highly recommend Cafe Evy, Meydan (for pide) and Calamar. Kaputas beach is nice but crowded, head instead for Patara, which is about a 45 minute drive from the villa, stunning beach and not too busy.

Can't wait to return to villa Cape House and Kas next year, we looked around a few other villas nearby and Cape House really is the best on the peninsula.

Special interest holidays:

Walking the Lycian Way,Scuba diving with one of the many dive clubs in Kas.Activities include swimming, sailing, fishing, walking, cycling, mountain biking, kayaking, scuba diving, boat hire, horse riding, climbing, visiting historic sites and shopping at the local markets.

Coast/Beach:

The sea is a one minute walk through the garden. There are several small pebble beaches in Kas; Incebogaz beach 5 mins by car, Little Pebble Beach (10 min), Big Pebble Beach (12 min), Limanagzi (15 min boat ride), Olympos Mokamp (12 mins). Sandy beaches can be found at Kaputas (20 min) on the way to Kalkan and the exquisite Patara beach is a 40 minute drive away.

Travel:

Kas is situated between Antalya Airport (3 hours away by car) and Dalaman Airport (approximately 2 hours away). Transfers can be arranged to and from the airports-please ask for prices at time of booking the villa. Car hire can also be arranged. Car hire is not essential but recommended to explore the areas surrounding Kas.

Distances:

The villa is a 6 minute drive by car or 10 minute dolmus (local bus) drive away from Kas town. We recommend the hire of a car, but this is not essential as there is a regular dolmus service that picks up and drops off around the peninsula.

6 kms to Kas. 26kms to Kalkan. Fethiye - 1.5 hours drive.

Further Details:

Lots of local restaurants, shops, banks and supermarkets in Kas. Scuba diving, snorkelling and fishing, especially in the waters around the Peninsula. Sailing and windsurfing - charter a gulet for a party for the day. Surprisingly cheap and usually includes an on-board BBQ. There are many boat trips starting from the harbour including visiting the Greek island of Meis which is just five miles off the coast of Kas. Canoeing, sea-kayaking, canyoning and paragliding. The Deniz Feneri Lighthouse Hotel is close by and has a lovely spa and sauna which has a full list of treatments to choose from. Details of these are available for you in the house. Guided walking and mountain hiking excursions, especially the Lycian Way. The flora is beautiful in early winter and in the spring. Mountain biking, horse riding and jeep expeditions in the Taurus Mountains and around the coastal paths. Hire a car or scooter to explore the nearby towns and countryside. Include a trip up into the mountains to the cool green lake at Gombe.

Take a visit to one of the local artists colonies and do some painting, mosaics or pottery. A trip to the barbers, including a massage, is an interesting experience that should not be missed. Similarly a Turkish Bath (Haman) is a must. Smokers should try a water-pipe (narghile) at one of the cafes near the harbour. Try your hand at playing backgammon or the fiendish Turkish version of dominoes whilst chatting with the locals. The bus services in Turkey are excellent. Frequent, cheap and on time. So it is easy to make a visit to some other resort local towns with Kalkan, Patara, and Demre within easy reach and Fethiye, Oludeniz, Dalyan and Finike a little further. There are also a lot of historical sites nearby and for those who are staying longer, well organised expeditions may be undertaken to Cappadocia and Ephesus. These take about 4 days each.
