The area around Littlestone is steeped in history which includes Dover Castle: Discover its labyrinth of secret wartime tunnels built deep in the White Cliffs of Dover. Kent Battle of Britain Museum: The most important collection of battle of britain artefacts on show in the country. It has its own unique steam railway the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway which runs along the coast. This narrow gauge miniature railway is a great attraction for visitors. The coast provides the best sandy beaches in the South East of the country, with shallow water allowing safe access for children.

There is nothing Victorian about this house which has been tastefully restored with its eclectic mix of antique and contemporary chic interior.

Relax on the balcony and watch the sunrise with its amazing views of Hythe and The White Cliffs of the Folkestone coastline. The French coastline can be seen and viewed through our telescope which is located in the main bedroom.

Thirlmere is located just 15 seconds walk to the beach, on the outskirts of New Romney often referred to as one of Kent’s best kept secrets. Quiet and peaceful, yet only 20 minutes drive to Hythe and Camber Sands. The historic town of Rye is just 30 minutes away. Littlestone has easy access to all amenities, with many excellent restaurants in New Romney and Hythe for eating out.

We had a wonderful time and it was lovely to be so close to the sea.

The property was a large and spacious family home with all mod cons and a clean environment. It was very nice to fit all 12 of us around one dining table for a change and we made the most of the location and not letting the weather deter us from the beach.

The only stumbling block being Owners directs involvement in that they were not very helpful at all with there payment system and the people I spoke to on the phone couldn't tell me there name, location or could not transfer my calls to line managers or more senior team members to help.

Good communication from the actual owner and easy to speak to.

Large comfortable property in a nice location on the sea front. Excellent views. Large kitchen that was well equipped with everything necessary for cooking. Owner easily contactable and helpful.

Guests may use the Varne boat club which is a 10 minute walk from the beach hut. A spar supermarket is a ten minute walk from thirlmere. Sotirios is a recently opened entertainment restaurant. Guests using the restaurant are guaranteed a warm welcome by the owner. it serves great food and cabaret evenings. The nearest town is new Romney which is one and a half miles away. It has two supermarkets and lots of individual shops. the town has a wide variety of restaurants and pubs. The historic town of rye is six miles away, it is renowned for its cobbled streets harbour and the famous mermaid hotel. Camber sands which was recently voted as having one of the best beaches in the uk is a Mecca for water sports and good old fashioned beach holidays. Dymchurch is a great place for children with its famous donkey rides and amusement park. Please see the visit Britain website for details of places to visit.

  • Notes on accommodation: This 4 storey Victorian town house is split into two. Main house has 6 bedrooms, two bedrooms have showers and sinks. Bathroom, Shower room, separate toilet on first floor of main house. Large kitchen dining area. Dining room has seating for 16 people. The main bedroom, king size bed with a shower and sink, it overlooks the sea with far reaching views of the English Channel. Victorian bedroom, double bed. bedroom 4, daybed which converts into a double bed. Bedroom 3, king size bed with shower and sink. Bedroom 2, double bed. Bedroom 1, single day bed with TV/DVD The bedroom in the garden flat has two three foot single beds, which may be used as a queen sized bed. The sitting room has a large double sofa bed. Large Kitchen/dining area in Garden Flat. Two courtyards at front and rear Shower room. Flat is self contained and has its own exit to the street and to the rear courtyard. It can also be accessed internally should both house and flat be rented at the same time. Outside: The Garden Flat has access to the front courtyard. Both courtyards are available to guests who rent both the garden flat and the main house, those guests may also use the barbecue in the rear courtyard. outdoor furniture is available in both courtyards. the owner is delighted to offer guests use of their beach hut. Use of beach hut is however subject to discussion with the owner at the time of booking. there is a small charge for this facility. Both courtyards are private and are surrounded by various flowering plants.
